Thanks for showing us the real Mexico. Mainstream media has us believing we would be in dangerous territory visiting Mexico. They look like lovely people to me.
Gabe you bring the best travel videos there are so awesome, these Mexico ones are GREAT plz film more of different parts of Mexico they are so interesting to watch :)
not really all the people are SHEEP im shocked they even put a mask on Frida Kalho and she would never wear a mask!! Go to other countries where they don't wear mask and follow blindly
As an expat in SMA, I recommend you ask a taxi to go to aguas thermales. Natural hot springs. The best is Escondido Place about 15 minutes outside of the city center towards Dolores Hidalgo. Not expensive but relaxing. Taxi will be around 100 pesos each way but well worth it.
I spent a month and a half in the beautiful colonial style town of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. I took classes in advanced Spanish, classes in the history of Mexico, Mexican music and Mexican folk dancing. At night I took Salsa dancing. San Miguel never changes because there is a law that any rebuilding or remodeling has to be done in colonial style. San Miguel is also an art town. I lived with a Mexican family and went total Immersion in the Spanish language. I've since been back a few times.
Hi Gabriel! Beautiful City! Your food looked more like the Mexican food we're used to in America. Bet it was so much better than ours.. The courtyard at the hostel where you're staying is absolutely gorgeous! Wouldn't mind having that in my yard.. I don't see how women walk on the cobblestones with heels. I saw a few wearing them..A twisted ankle waiting to happen.. Glorious Cathedrals! Just an awesome city...Cant wait for your next video! Please take care and I bid you peace! 🌺😄🌺
I would totally be fine retiring in Mexico. Good ppl, great food and beautiful music. Plus they love football hahaha 😂 also as motorcyclist they have nice roads n trails for adventure
Hey, thanks for filming this video of my town. We've been getting a lot of bad rep and just having someone like you show the positivity of the town, helps lighten things up for future tourists and all!!
Great video if you have time head up to Mazatlán and Los Mochis for the train through the copper canyon deeper than the grand canyon an amazing journey.
Loving these videos! Exactly what I want to see in a travel video - just walking around exploring the place, taking in the local culture, finding out a bit about the places history. No politics, rants or strong opinions in the commentary! Will be buying one of your books shortly as a way to support the channel, and no doubt for an interesting read!
I'm in San Miguel de Allende now. Just came through for a trip. Traveling Mexico for the time being. We walked the same route. Beautiful churches there.
Thank You For sharing... I LOVE traveling with you. I Admire how you just get out there an GO Explore ! I would be LOST in less than 5 minutes without a tourist chaperone ! GOD BLESS !
Another cool place in Mexico... Love the Plazas/Squares with those Hedge Trees.. They really like the Burgundy & Yellow on their buildings in this video... Safe Travels Gabriel.. :)
Gabe, the giant costumes lead groups drinking Mescal through the streets (mostly for wedding or Aniversary parties). If you go back you will notice they are a bride and groom. The tour is Called callejonadas. You follow a donkey with bottles of mescal on his back and the tour guides give you a little shot cup at the start and fill your glass up throughout the 1-hour long tour. Similar to the Estudiantes in Guanajuato (Shakespearian costumes). Basically, they both provide a walking tour with singing through the streets to mariachi. But in SMA, the tour involves Mescal.
Excellent video. San Miguel looks incredible. Wonderful architecture. Everything looked very clean and well maintained. I love those streets and sidewalks. Thanks Gabe for another great tour.
thank you so much for filming and uploading and all the work you put into editing !! great video as always and really good to hear you are staying in a hotel for free as your channel is huge !!...I just started watching bald and bankrupt other great youtubber and again someone that shows the really cities with out the need for fancy drone shoots ... really enjoying your trip to mexico !!! are you ever going to do a live stream?with a Q&A?
Right on, glad you're enjoying the Mexico vids and yes I'm sure I'll do a livestream one of these days, but not sure when it will happen. When the time is right.
Keep the great videos coming Gabriel! Just one technical point if I may: the lovely church in the Jardin Principal is not a cathedral. Think of a cathedral as a capitol building: it is literally the "seat" of the bishop or archbishop of the diocese or archdiocese (geographical boundary). The cathedral that covers the archdiocese of which San Miguel de Allende is a part is in neighboring city of Leon. You will find the locals referring to the church accurately as a "parroquia" or a parish church. There are many beautiful churches that are not actually cathedrals. Film on Gabriel! Love the images!
@@libbyjones552 Lol! I get it! In Queretaro, the next town over, the Church of Santa Maria de Viterbo is a stunningly-beautiful parish church, not far from the actual Cathedral of Queretaro named St. Philip Neri, the latter of which is comparatively austere. Think of the Holy Family (Sagrada Familia) in Barcelona, which is massive and a master work in itself... and is also not a cathedral. Enjoy them all! Cheers!
Other colonial cities in the area that you might enjoy are Taxco, Cholula, Oaxaca, and downtowns in Queretaro, Puebla and Mexico City, if you head south east Mexico, check out San Cristobal de las Casas, Campeche and downtown Merida. Also north from you but not that far away is Morelia in Michoacan State, not that many tourists but just as beautiful as San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato.
They built the tunnels to divert the river away from the mines in Guanajuato many years ago. That is awesome you tipped the mojigangas! (giant puppets) because that is how they support themselves.

International Living magazine has been promoting San Miguel de Allende to Americans looking to retire outside of the USA for quite some time. I am very excited to see it from your perspective!!
These are some beautiful cities. I honestly didn't have a clue. It's like straight out of some old Spanish or Italian town(I mean it technically is, but hey...)

Your Spanish is really improving, Señor! Do you ever have problems with hostels? I would worry that people might talk a lot or do things that might be a distraction from sleeping!
Yes that's the main issue with hostels, the noise. You never know until you get there, sometimes it's not too bad, sometimes it totally messes up your night and then your day.
Lol someone talking is the least of hostel problems. In California hostels probably a third of the nights had sex in bunks often above me and I had to worry if bunk would break. You get alot drug use people steal each other's stuff mentally Ill...bad drunks people looking for fights. Still more exciting than sitting in my boring apt like I am now
Luckily I've avoided all those experiences, as well as bed bugs. Snoring is the real curse of hostels. I think hostels outside of the US tend to be a better crowd, travelers (which is what they're supposed to be for) instead of down and out people just looking for a cheap place to crash.
¡Gracias! Nice video. Personally I’d have to upgrade bare minimum to a private room even if a shared shower or bathroom. Do you ever get frustrated trying to sleep in the room with others coming and going etc?
