- 3 month review on the issues I have been having with my VLAND headlights. I made this video to be as transparent as possible, as I had these exact questions prior to buying. Hopefully it helps you make your decision if you are looking as well. I still highly recommend them over stock, and especially considering the price.

Sick lights. Love the look!
The led flickers because the car's computer checks the lights for errors, it send a PWM signal to see if there is a light there or not, it's a normal behavior on VW, so all LED mounted will flicker at first, even if they are in the tail light or head light!
Any way to fix that?
@@champagnedrippy3942 The way you can fix it is to do a pin 1 to pin 10 swap on the vw harness. All it takes is a hair clip. The U U lights will run with city lights instead of DRL. You will also be required to turn off DRL with Vagcom or OBD11.
exactly, I've instaled DEPO tail lights and it's exactly as you said
@@rickypelletier363 thanks
Thanks for addressing the flickering!
Awesome bro, I have an mk6 golf too and I got the same headlights cause I love the look. I'm going to install them tomorrow, any pointers for first time headlight installation?
You’ll love them! Between my two videos on them, it’s pretty much everything I know. Hopefully the videos help.
Lights are sick
Great video, you convinced me to buy the lights. Next step is the interior set.
Did you get a malfunctioning right turn signal when the engine is on?
My right turn signal/hazard for the headlight does not work in a sequential manner.
Glad you liked this video! I didn’t have any issues with the turn signals myself.
I have the same problem
I just got done installing these lights on my 2014 Golf TDI. Not sure if anyone else knows this or not, but I found another adjustment screw inside the housing that gave me plenty of adjustment and didn't need to push the housings back to get the height I needed for correct headlight height. The gaps look better now. Also I had a problem with the VLand wiring. My DRL's would only come on with the headlight switch on. I had a malfunction light for the DRL's. The VLand wiring has 2 into 1 white wire. I ran jumpers to see what was running what? Then used the #4(DRL wire) wire from VW headlight harness and a jumper wire to one of the white wires that run the DRL's, problem solved and no malfunction light. Also running all LED's on my car(every light inside and out).
Woah this is awesome insight. I appreciate the info!! Everyone give this a look ☝🏼☝🏼
@@AJLoDato22 Did you have time to check it? Thank you for the thorough review of the headlights!
Where’s the adjustement screw you talk about?
@@alexandrebreda234 The white plastic adjuster on the outside only allows a certain amount of adjustment. Open the housing and there should be an extension of that adjustment on the same side that lets you adjust it even further.
What leds are you running for low beems and high beems?
Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for all the content you create. It's been extremely helpful for me.
Also, I copied your setup and I don't regret it. Although, I had some issues installing the LED bulbs at first due to my headlight socket coming with a green "O Ring" instead of the wire harness. But, all is well.
One thing is for sure, in that the lights are set up aiming pretty low. Were you able to adjust the low beam higher without and disassembly?
Hey man - I really appreciate the support. I’m glad the golf series is helpful! As for the headlight adjustment, in this video I show the three screws to loosen to allow for the headlights to be angled back and re-tightened. It will only require the grille to be removed.
You're a life saver. I appreciate it.
Nice review. I have these as well and the problem I have is only one drl comes on when I drop the ebrake. But when I turn the headlights on all the drl "U"s come on. So I always drive with my headlights on. Kind of annoying.
Also I had some condensation inside as well and I've seen lights get destroyed inside quick. So....to save them I used a heat gun on low and slowly evaporated it. It works quite well. Hope that helps someone.
Appreciate the insight! I made a video on the condensation which was my biggest pet peeve. I used silica packs stuffed in the bulb area which seemed to help.
@@AJLoDato22 good idea I think I'll try that. I just changed back to leds from hids tonight. Way better because the hids had hideous laser beam webs lol.
Liked and subscribed!
Cheers man!
VLANDS website says that these don’t work with GTI models, can’t decide if I should try it or not, is the pulsing light because of that? Any error codes?
Shoot they may have changed it since I bought them. I would follow their recommendations though because these are already really finicky.
If you read the website description on these headlights they say they don’t fit because they are an Asian company and their language and writing/typing skills aren’t on point BUT they do fit and what they mean by they don’t fit is that the error light on your dash will come on and you can’t get rid of the error light with out coding it out of the ECM/ECU and such that is why they say they don’t fit! they should re word they’re description so people understand better but yes they fit you will just have a light on your dash like I do now that is all! If you don’t mind a light on your dash then go for it otherwise don’t do it! VW’s are extremely touchy vehicles and that is good and bad all at once lol 😆 good luck!
I know in a little late to this. But I wish you made a video of the light output and brights. I have the single projector from vland and the brights are horrible.
I don’t disagree. I’ve had two sets of vlands (golf & 4runner), and both had great low beams, but horrible high beams
So the high beams on those are also crappy ?
dude a question for you. i'm considering and throwing 6000k xenon kit in these headlights. do you think it can damage the diodes on the headlight
Hey man! I wouldn’t see how the headlights could damage them, but I’m no expert.
Just put LEDs in to be safe
Don't they make inline taps that change the voltage or whatever the car sees? Sorry that's vague
I believe they do, but I’m no expert so I never tried
hey, how did you get these covers on your fog lights? i have leds as well but i blind everyone besides my car when the fog lights are on
Do you mean the little black flaps on the fog lights? Honestly I didn’t mess with the fog light housing.
@@AJLoDato22 yes exactly. the black flaps. i need to add boundaries for these fog lights otherwise i blind everyone who is looking to my car :D
so it is stock?
Yup stock to my knowledge!
@@AJLoDato22 well, thanks. but i searched the whole internet for those things. i didnt find them. im from germany but i also didnt find them searching for the us version. this is exactly what i need, but it seems like i have to craft them on my own.
thx
Anyone know how to make the drl work cuz mine dont light up in the day
One question, what adapter time did you use, if the car is 14 pin and the headlight is 10 pin?
I don’t have the car anymore so I can’t check, but it was the adaptor that came with the kit.
@@AJLoDato22 which adapter? Can I buy to install the headlights to the car?
@@AJLoDato22 Where can I contact you to see if you can help me?
@@jozzessantos7324lol I’m having the same issue. Which adapter?
Did you have a problem with the controls on the meter or not?
I only had issues where the DRL’s wouldn’t turn on unless the headlights were on. No other issues with the controls switch.
@@AJLoDato22 ok, thank you
My headlights aiming too low to the ground. Any help with that?
Unbolt the headlight bolts and cock it back and retighten. Works like a charm
Looking to upgrade my headlights have been searching on eBay these style but says it only fits golf not gti any recomendaciones?
I think mk6 gti and golf’s are interchangeable, but I’d message VLAND. From what I remember they had decent customer service
I was gunna get these for my mk6 Jetta but ended up with the spec d instead.
How are the spec d holding up Bc I was think ab getting em for my mk6 Jetta GLI
im having problems, my highbeams are automatically turning off after 35 seconds of use. just wondering if anyone else had come across this issue.. thanks guys
I didn’t have this issue personally
@@AJLoDato22 hmm ok. thanks man!
did you ever figure out this issue? currently having my highbeams do the same thing
I use the golf 8 design model, they light up too low
The best way is to retrofit a headlight with the original chipset in it
Even though aftermarket have canbus to bypass error codes but it will never bypass everything
Ciao , io li ho montati uguali, con gli adattatori in dotazione ma non si accendono le luci drl, non capisco perché!! Ho sbagliato qualcosa?
Hmm I’m not sure why you’re having the issues. It may be good to reach out to their customer service or check out some forums. There are some others that have had issues.
Does it fit the GTI models or just the Golf?
I believe the GTI models as well. I’d check VLAND’s website though.
are you running led bulbs or hid's ?
LED’s
My buddy has a mk 6 gti with these headlights. DRL works but not brights , blinkers, and main lights.
Any suggestions on fixing? He’s told me about swapping pins? Is there an adapter?
I wish I knew more about them other than my install. I’d recommend looking into the forms. There’s a ton of folks that have insight on swapping pins, which I think is the culprit.
Did you find The adapter?
How do you change from red eye to white
Mine didn’t have the red option. Im not sure how folks do that.
If I only use the high beam, it hardly shines at all😢
Are these UK MOT compliant?
I’d ask VLAND customer service as I am unsure.
Does it pass MOT’s?
I’d ask VLAND’s customer service.
Vland said the headlights won’t work on GTI or R?
Ohh shoot really? I thought they would
i buyed them, installed but not working at all, any idea why ???
Honestly I’m not too sure. It looks like on the forms people have all different luck with them.
@@AJLoDato22 i changed the installation and they are working now , but when i turn the high beams on after 10 sec it turns off automatically any ideia why?
@@muhammadkassim6240 happens to me too. any fixes?
not Really relevant comment bro,but I got evo x headlights and feel its absolutely a scam, caused my afs dash light flashing(if ur car doesnt have afs then u might be happy w it),and poor finish(cheap plastic feel and sent directly from China lol),even worse aftersale support, leave ur query alone and never wanted help(keeping say they r consulting and let u wait)
we all earn money hard ,we deserve alot better product for its price
I have seen a lot of reviews like what you’re experiencing. I feel like the manufacturer is all over the place honestly with both their products and customer service.
I got these Headlights. Check it out on insta for more. @V33XDD_
So, in short, not worth the money!
Hello, I installed vland headlights on B7 Passat and the high beam shines very, very badly, can you help me?😢🥲
Did you use the bulbs that came with it or aftermarket ones? Wondering if it’s a bulb issue or the headlight housing
