- In this video I go over my journey through blender since I switched over to it from my old 2D animated self. With a help of a whole lot of tutorials and sheer will, I managed to wrap my head around how this neat 3D software works. I had a lot of fun working on this. I'd say it's my best work so far and I hope you all enjoyed my recap.

adding the cube after deleting the cube means you've reached true blender enlightenment
Hey blank! I hope you're reading this. You don't need to do weight painting for bending arms. Just go to the edit mode and add vertices/edges on the mesh from where you want it to bend. The more vertices/edges, the smoother the bend is gonna be. Takes not more than 2 minutes.
Thank you!
@@the12blank No problem mate
Thanks now I need to figure out what on earth ver dick ES are

You can use this tutorial to learn verdickes
Hi
I just started using blender, and I binge watching animation videos on this. Have fun with your animation!
This video is dope !!! It’s 2 am and I can’t sleep and I’m hooked on this video .. can’t seem to turn it off and go to bed , if you’re reading this fabulous storytelling ❤
i saw this vid a couple months back, and since like last year ive wanted to learn blender, this just made me want to learn it more!
i dont have a laptop, but i think i might be able to convince my parents to get me one for video production/blender!
after watching this video 6 times i finaly gave it a try and i just not good at modeling and rigging. and even though u didnt really teach how to use blender this was still inspiring
yea man i am doing an animation too and holy moly its killing me , but what I know is when you get to know what you are doing it becomes "less frustrating" cuz you wont go around searching for answers and at the same time will take less time . and lastly congratulations on your character!
Yeah Animation will take a toll on you. It's a whole lot of problem solving at first. But once you get it down you got it! I also appreciate you!
Looks really good I really hope your channel blows up
How do you think only have 926 subscribers!? Underrated.
man for a 412 subs (which i recently subbed) and with this amount of views, this video alone is just amazing, i would love to see more of this type of style in your content!
Just found this channel and already can't stop watching. you earned a new subscriber🎉 you are an amazing creator keep it up❤
As a 3d modeler, I relate to some parts of how you started. But either way, you have made a nice model! Good work dude
this is so relateable. i havent tried rigging or weight painting yet, but I've been intimidated enough by uv wrapping and topology to really finish a rig and have just been making simple character models
i want learn blender to, just follow up on video and understand it, same like gamedev.
Liked and subscribed instantly 😩😩😩😩💪💪💪
Heya, thanks for inspiring me to install Blender! I've been trying to teach myself a bunch of different aspects for 2 days, and thanks to your recommendations I have gotten pretty good at it!
I was just watching this and then saw that the animating software you were using was free, THANK YOU!!
Love this man, just now learning blender too and this was a great watch, you're definitely going places man, keep it up o/
Hope your Blender journey goes well! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I appreciate you!
I just found out your channel and, as a beginner animator and artist, I find this amazing!
You actually made me want to give a chance to learning blender
BROOOOOOOO THIS IS SO GOOD PLEASE KEEP GOING
That's the plan! I'm happy you enjoy the video :)
You are very underrated, love ur vids!
Learned how to mod for games. Started making my own models. Now I have a job after a year of doing it. It's so much fun.
Bro retopology after sculpting is the thing that ripped me in pieces
For a beginner, I think that this is completely awesome
Brooo totally relate to hitfilm. Every single time I try to do simple movements/ animations I felt like offing myself 😂😂
Your channel is very underrated!
nice 1am recommendation UA-cam gave me XD, nice video
You're so underrated, the video was awesome!
IM HIS 245th SUBSCRIBER! now i can say i followed him when he didnt even had a 1000 subscribers.
Thank you for being my 245th subscriber! it really means a lot!
Oh my gosh this is so relatable
thank you for the advice
Just stumbled upon this video, and I thought it was great! Till this day I have yet to do the Blender Donut tutorial LMAOO
I shan't do it
Weight painting is a pain, but it's so satisfying when you get it right hahahahaha
Underrated
opening up blender without watch a video and not having any knowledge will make it look really hard because its all shortcuts and without knowing any of the shortcuts it would seem impossible to learn... and i highly suggest you to get addons that will make it easier for UV unwrapping and other stuff
Making 3d characters is great

“weight painting?”
*has war flashbacks*
7:42 from experience weight painting is a nightmare

This is a very good video!
Hope this channel gets more subs!
2000 years later: why is the video not done yet
nice
You're amazing
2:23 is soooo me for real
You acctuly use a 3d painting software to make it easier to texture, you can just paint on the 3d model . I use substance painter
Thank you for the tip! I'll give that a try!
One Thing I will suggest you to do that dont do Everything in Blender there are ton of other softwares that can do Specific Tasks Like Substance Painter for Texturing Zbrush for sculpting marvelous Designer for Clothing etc Yeah you can do modelling UV and Animation in Blender but doing it in a Specific Software will Improve your Journey a lot I did the Same mistake and unfortunately I wasted so much time on doing things which Blender cant do Properly Hope it will Help 🙂.
Thank you!
its funny how i used the exact same video`s as you to learn it XD
6:00 what did the default cube do to you bro
I like story videos like your video
Nice
When your computer hates blender and wont even start it=

Thank you so much for sharing your experience!!! It's inspiring!! Keep up the great work!!!🎉 May I ask: How much ram and graphics card do you have to use blender? 😊

Go for it! Animation is super fun to get into!
Thank you so much I might start an animated show I’ve been thinking about for a while
Can you make a video instead of using blender can you make an animation using prisma 3d on mobile.
You have minecraft opened ?!

how much time does it take to animate that mouth omg
It takes a

why not use DaVinci resolve for editing?
I really enjoy the blender video editor
@@the12blank Fair Enough
it def helped i even rigged it

I use Blender for 2 years and rigging isnt that hard, i rig game characters like 2 times in a day and i fully make them, whit textures, characters :)
Oh man if you can do that you could try dc2😂
Amazing! We are also slowly learning Blender and we'll be adopting an animated cartoon character for our videos soon!
no one cares

I just started learning today and coincidentally this video was in my recommendations! This video is so inspiring and motivating and I tried doing the character model tutorial too!!
Love the video! I also subscribed to see your journey and I'm excited to see what's ahead!
Also thank you :]
Aye I appreciate you! Good luck on your blender journey as well! Happy my video could inspire you!
@@the12blankliteral underrated, literally.
2:27 I felt the same way with Photoshop until I finally took a course and started from the absolute beginning and not trying to do the "sexy" stuff like blend/masks. start with the fundamental tools and keep learning and iterating. now any program doesn't scare me it might be overwhelming but I don't have the " I Can't " function enabled. so a long winded thanks for this video because I always looked at character modeling as something I can't tackle.
your animations and storytelling are amazing!
i know an alternative way to animate blank's face it is something called an Alpha channel. Alpha channels are like flat planes as a transparent mesh with a texture applied to the front. (it's an option if you want to change the facal look)
I've been learning Blender for a year now, and man, it's been a journey of mixed emotions, lol. Currently, I'm learning character animation, and it's frustrating, but I can definitely master it with alot of practice! It just takes time. Have you used the NLA editor in Blender? Awesome vid too, SUBBED!!
People prefer suffering over triumph, but why not have both by learning Blender?
You inspired me to pick up blender again... this time I am gonna give my best!!
This video was amazing! you are gonna blow up soon just keep working hard
you deserve a sub
Ooooh this is great! Could you also share how you incorporate your blender character into your videos too? I've been trying to figure that one out for myself too...
Yes I'll be doing a tutorial series in the future and I'll go over everything that goes into my videos!
youre blowing up dude this is great!!!
7:38 I make characters and stuff in blender and I never used weight painting ever. EVER 😂
I feel your pain with weight painting but I learned recently when messing around in blender that you can weight paint by assigning vertex groups to points in edit mode it will be fully weighted but you can just use the blur tool in weight paint mode to smooth it out a bit hope that helps if you ever need to make a model and weight it again.
Do you live in florda? (If not im gonna be mad since you made a nitpick video about florida but if you live in florida its fine)
Standard! Deleting cube and placing a cube even i do that
REAL
also when in the viewport if you press shift and ` you can move around easier
