Fisher studio standard FVH-P906 vcr, playback after service

Just repaired this machine, the loading belt, capstan belt and idlers were all perished. Heads were very dirty but cleaned up. It was also suffering from a faulty dew sensor. Which I have bypassed for now.

Nice VCR. I love "the VCR". Such a great piece if technology. Everything has be doing what it's supposed to just to play a tape! This would be built by Sanyo I'm sure. They bought Fisher.

i have a 916 somewhere new in the box, but guessing it's gonna need idler and belts after all these years. Something satisfying about the sound these machines make during operation.

I just looked, mine is a 916. I am not new to fixing old tech, but vcrs are new to me. I have a new idler tire but getting to it is challenging.
