Jeff Cavalier makes too many wishy washy videos that always lead back to the same point or a useless point which many of us won't incorporate in our training, and I just don't seem to like Jeff Nippard anymore, his videos have dropped a bit in quality in terms of training tips. Jeremy is by far the best, he actually influences the way I train with every video which others don't do.

1: Pull with the elbows, think of your hands as hooks (lat pulldown)
2: use thumb less grip(lat pulldown)
3: Ephasis upper lats with wide grip pulldown
4: Emphasis lower lats with chins ups
5: Make rowing exercises lat focused ( seated row )

    • @drewskeez1156
      @drewskeez1156 5 місяців тому

I recently strained my digit flexors in my forearm from using a thumbless grip after a few months of pulling this way. When you use a thumbless grip it greatly increases the forces placed on the flexors used to grip. Just something to keep in mind. A better thing to use is Versa grips when pulling...you will get a much better mind muscle connection with those than using the thumbless grip, and you wont have the additional forearm strain like I did. obviously you need to train grip and forearms a bit more separately if you decide to use them.

This is so true, when i first started workin out i couldnt activate the back area correctly and end up workin on my traps more. Since i focus more on the mind muscles connection, my back width is growin like crazy. Focusing on the eccentric movement helps big time.

I incorporated your bicep video last week which was the concertation curls with a 90 rotation on the positive and then the behind the shoulder cable curl (excellent pump and contraction) But the hammer curl on the T bar with the 5 sec contraction on the negative was amazing. It must be doing something right as my arms were thrombing and ful of lactic acid... Keep up the good work 👏

The best tip for getting a good width is to have good genetics and therefore wide shoulders. This will get you the v-shape.

I suggest to focus on the lats one armed pull downs using a loose ankle cuff on the elbow.(or 2 with an added chain) This spares the wrist and bicep if you so choose. You may need something between your hand and the cord like a glove a tennis ball a small towel. Your wrist and bicep will fail before your lat so this works for me best in the second half of lat day as I do a lot of century sets. Make sure to be careful changing over to the other elbow I suggest you stand up and take the weight to neutral instead of changing under tension. Try one rep of this and you will get the idea-incredible! . Also using a (or 2) one handed strap handle adjust the handle on the strap so it is vertical not horizontal by sliding it down the strap .Or use a rope. Jeremy I really like your tip from another video that the wide grip gives best activation but the ' multi exercise bar ' works better for me as it is wider than a double d but still a close grip. I recommend them for the neutral grip. I think an underhand grip on the seated rows spares the rotator cuff. Thanks for the great videos!

Another great video. Thanks for the info. If/When you get a moment, would you do a video on the science of overtraining? Thanks again.

Despite doing all this anyway, I feel much more confident about my back (specifically lats) training, having heard it from this channel.
Easily my favourite fitness channel, keep up the great work! :)

Jeremy - I want to thank you for making this video. I've been struggling to get the most of my lat workout and after watching your video, I've performed your workout and felt a strong response from my lat region. I'll keep up with your routine in the coming weeks.
One question - I noticed that the pre-workout lat activation drills you showed are performed unilaterally. Is there any benefit in your opinion in performing them in a bilateral motion? Thanks.

You are doing a great job by letting out legit facts. These other UA-camrs are just cat-fishing us.

I want a V-taper and have tiny biceps, so training back is a win-win either way lol

Tie or strap your hands to lat exercise equipment so you can get more reps.

sir, i am a physiologist, and i remain a bit concerned about my physical stature. hence i am a frequent viewer of fitness videos. believe me sir, the detailed concept, the problems and their solutions you provide are simply unparalleled. i have never seen so much detail in any fitness youtuber's video.
love and respect from India. 😊

This guy is one of the only UA-camrs with legit advice. Tried watching another channel yesterday and it was basically a self-made documentary of the guy going around Vegas with maybe 1 min of advice at the end - utter clickbait. Anyway, Jeremy, could you make a video on the detrimental effects of alcohol on your training regime? I feel like most people (no matter how begrudgingly) are able to 'be good' during the week but are a total train-wreck over the weekend :P
