I was beyond star struck , he came by and said what’s up and took a picture with me and my little boy . I think that day pimp c son came by and seen that tick tock mama lady there . Every one pulls up to support bun . It was a lot of love there
I think this track works so well because all 4 talk about love but with different variations on it. Andre 3000’s verse is about the romantic ideal of marriage, Pimp C raps about taking someone’s girl, Bun B’s verse is from the perspective of a pimp, and then Big Boi talks about the dangers of love and how making a mistake can cost you everything. Basically 3 separate fantasies or ideal scenarios and then what happens if you choose wrong. Allows them to weave their different personalities into one narrative.
I listen to the song because of Andre's verse and I always end up listening to the whole song. I was wondering why I loved it. You've answered my question. Thank you!
This song is so legendary and iconic. But at the same time it's bittersweet to me, here's why: A) OutKast's last album to date came out the year before in 2006, Idlewild. And this was the last time they were billed together as OutKast. Anything after says "Big Boi feat. Andre 3000". B) This video and song was one of the last things the Pimp got to do before he was found dead on December 4, 2007....obviously ending UGK. C) The next year in 2008, Three 6 Mafia released The Last 2 Walk, their last album before they broke up! And just as a fun fact, Three 6 Mafia are the producers of this song and are featured on the original version. But their label at the time, Sony, blocked them from doing any features because they were still hot off the Oscar win and Sony didn't want to share the wealth. They wanted Three 6 to be exclusive artists. But they were not restricted in the way of being producers. So there it is, three LEGENDARY Southern rap groups made a classic but then all ended shortly thereafter. So it's a bittersweet thing to me...#RIPPimpC #UGK #OutKast #ThreeSixMafia
@@danicalawson7360 DJ Paul originally made the beat for Project Pat and he used it on a song called "Choose You". But it didn't really pop outside of Memphis and Atlanta. So when Pimp C was in prison he had access to these old albums and he heard that song he called DJ Paul and asked him what did the song do in the streets and Paul told him that because of the mismanagement of the label it didn't really do anything. So he asked Paul could he use that beat and Paul tried to make him a new one and he said no I want that beat. So that's how UGK got the beat. If you search Choose You by Project Pat, same beat. But there's also a "megamix" on UA-cam with the verses of Project Pat, UGK, OutKast and Three 6 Mafia. It's a great listen.
Does anybody else tear up a bit listening to this for some reason? It’s nostalgic and also beautiful in a way I can’t describe. The background chorus and Andre’s verse in particular get me

I was obsessed with this song when I was a young teen. This is around the time music was kind of going through a revolution and changing right before our eyes, a new era and these legends came together for one last ride. Beautiful.
I fondly remember sitting in my childhood bedroom, no responsibilities, no bills, no nothing; this playing on MTV Jams and everything else in that era. I wish I could go back to that time for just an hour. RIP Pimp C.
Same except with way too much Cheeto dust on my fingers omg. These kids will never know the magic of MTV Jamz or Rap City!!!! Where’s the time machine :,(
My favorite verse changes every time I listen to this classic. Each rapper spits such a vivid scenario and all are filled with Jewels. R.I.P Sweet Jones...
This song has so much heart it cant even be touched so many memories and it reminds you of a time when life was so much simpler. Music these days cant even touch this thank you Willie Hutch for opening up the doors to endless possibilities ❤
My homeboy recently got married -- during the reception, all of the groomsmen rapped this song to him in a big circle. one of my favorite parts of the weekend.🤣
Hard to believe it's been almost 7 years since this song came out. Fuck man this is was an instant classic once it first came out and I'm STILL bumping this. RIP Pimp
My favorite part of this is the end of Andre’s verse, where, having exhausted all avenues of trying to convince him not to settle down, his pimp friends’ last piece of advice is to “play your part” and be a good husband. It’s so wholesome.
I was waiting for someone to quote this 😂😂😂 I been telling all my guy friends this shit since we were kids now I’m the only one w/o a baby mama or a compromised relationship
I just turned 60 yrs old and this was definitely the song of the yr for me..I actually went to a wedding and they put this on and we lost it in the church house....That wedding was the the goat just like this cut.......period.....
Whats so dope to me is the beat changed for each of them! 🔥🔥🔥 Stax got the intro/choir sound Pimp got the beat drop Bun got the snare slaps Big Boi got the heartbeat, chopped and screwed feel
I've been going through alot lately and this song reminds me of when I was younger and how much easier my life was. I actually teared up tonight hearing this. I'm a nerdy white dude, but God, real hip hop has done so much for me when I needed it the most.

IMO Int'l Player's Anthem is the best song ever made. The content of the lyrics, the different styles from everyone that all flow together perfectly, and not to mention you can play this ANYWHERE and people will jam to it just make it a timeless hit.
Man this was made gorgeously. From the intro to the bridges going to each person. No loops that go a little to long and transitions so well. And the vocals add so much to a beat. Glad to hear a song with a recipe that didn't faulter.
UGK + Outkast + 3-6 Mafia + Goodie Mob + T-Pain + Magic Don Juan + David Banner + Fonzworth Bentley ..... ALL in a music video together = A SOUTHERN CLASSIC
Did you know that Pimp C was pissed that 3 Stacks took the drums out of his verse? This exposition made the song the classic it is today and the beat dropping on Pimps part made the song become the anthem.

I fondly remember sitting in my childhood bedroom, no responsibilities, no bills, no nothing; this playing on MTV Jams and everything else in that era. I wish I could go back to that time for just an hour. RIP Pimp C.
SMFH YOU AND ME BOTH ❤️❤️💔💔
Same except with way too much Cheeto dust on my fingers omg. These kids will never know the magic of MTV Jamz or Rap City!!!! Where’s the time machine :,(

The End of a Dynasty
This was played on 106 & Park in summer 2007
I walked out to this on my wedding day. This sounds new to me every time I listen to it. Masterpiece
One of, if not THE hardest Pimp verses ever, he killed this track.
Andre 3000 "3 Stacks" Benjamin!
Pimp always came hard imo, his usual talent is displayed more sophisticated here which makes this a solid way to show off how great he was
Big Boi gets ovelooked
@@tytytyme33 fax, Big Boi verse is my favorite. Gems throughout the whole verse!
I love his verse in Big Pimpin'.
The beat switches up for each verse, so awesome. One of the best music videos ever too.
Pimp came in like a monster!!
These girls is smart
Sweet Jones
Them boys was ahead of their time fasho. Trap before trap

When that beat drops just got this massive smile on my face.
My favorite verse changes every time I listen to this classic. Each rapper spits such a vivid scenario and all are filled with Jewels. R.I.P Sweet Jones...
Mychal_ Corleone yep
"i'll show u shit u've never seen the seven wonders of the world and i can make u the 8th if u wanna b my girl"
This song has so much heart it cant even be touched so many memories and it reminds you of a time when life was so much simpler. Music these days cant even touch this thank you Willie Hutch for opening up the doors to endless possibilities ❤
One of those rare hip hop classics where each and every artist brought their own unique Style and simply killed it every verse
When that beat drop and Pimp C starts rapping… my whole body starts to tingle 🙌🏾
My homeboy recently got married -- during the reception, all of the groomsmen rapped this song to him in a big circle. one of my favorite parts of the weekend.🤣
Omgggg that’s amazing
That’s awesome! 😂
Legendary 😎👍🏽
Choose the right one or pick the kiddies up 🤣😭🤧💯
Based. I want this
This has to be one of the best lyrics to a drop of all time! Then Pimp comes in with bars!! A classic hit! All of them put it down on this one!
The collaboration we always wanted. Two of the greatest hip hop/rap duos of all time.
Three if you count Juicy J and DJ Paul on the production end.
@@evankoerber1756th three 6 mafia!!
Playing this at my wedding reception for sure!!!! This song is timeless and will always be the anthem!

Best song ever made
14 years bro
Seeing a comment saying “I can’t believe this came out almost 7 years ago” blows my mind lol.
@@zachsteiner holy shit lmfao
My favorite part of this is the end of Andre’s verse, where, having exhausted all avenues of trying to convince him not to settle down, his pimp friends’ last piece of advice is to “play your part” and be a good husband. It’s so wholesome.
Classic song. Andre 3k deliver one of the best verses all time. And T-Pain being silly in the back

Big Boi’s verse on this song is the most slept on in hip-hop history...

Whats so dope to me is the beat changed for each of them! 🔥🔥🔥
Stax got the intro/choir sound
Pimp got the beat drop
Bun got the snare slaps
Big Boi got the heartbeat, chopped and screwed feel
Lamarius Berry never really payed it that much attention but damn you right! Everything about this song is beautiful 😂😂

Damn good observation!
Cody Jemison thank you sir!
Damn u rite fella neva looked at it like dat but damn u rite
I've been going through alot lately and this song reminds me of when I was younger and how much easier my life was. I actually teared up tonight hearing this. I'm a nerdy white dude, but God, real hip hop has done so much for me when I needed it the most.

The way the song effortlessly transitions to pimp’s verse ✨
IMO Int'l Player's Anthem is the best song ever made. The content of the lyrics, the different styles from everyone that all flow together perfectly, and not to mention you can play this ANYWHERE and people will jam to it just make it a timeless hit.
Yo...the white coat and hat 💯🔥and that long awaited beat drop that never disappoints. It's like a new song every time I hear it.

Forever a masterpiece.
The way David Banner was clapping @ 2:57-2:58 is iconic!
That's how I be at that part too!

Crystal Williams, by any chance do you know who the woman in the yellow dress is? She's at 2:09 and 2:26. Thanks in advance

That's that Jackson Mississippi crunk clap!!!
Man this was made gorgeously. From the intro to the bridges going to each person. No loops that go a little to long and transitions so well. And the vocals add so much to a beat. Glad to hear a song with a recipe that didn't faulter.
My go to song. there should be a holiday created in honor of this song. We should name a freaking street after this song
International Players Anthem Street? Nah bruh, nah
International players street
It’s a player street in Houston

Did you know that Pimp C was pissed that 3 Stacks took the drums out of his verse? This exposition made the song the classic it is today and the beat dropping on Pimps part made the song become the anthem.
