''She is a poem written in the most beautiful body language.'' ~Saul Bellow Had a '76 454 2wd Towing package in Buckskin w/ Dark Walnut Inlay. 10 mpg. no matter the load. Thx for stirrin' this 71 year old's memory chips.
They are extremely rare! Since owning my 74 K/20 Suburban, I have looked at probably 70,000 squarebodies on the net and in person. Went looking nationwide to find one for sale, and spent an entire summer going through junkyards. You's is about the 6th one I have found, not counting my own. Robbie of the UA-cam channel " United by trucks" has a copy of mine. They're both Yubba gold and white.
Awesome 👍 😎! My father had one just like this when I was a kid except for his was a 2500 454. It had the big mirrors just like this one and it also had the bench seat same color but I think earlier '70s. I think his was maybe a 73 or 74? We loved it we would pile lots of people and camping gear and fishing gear and everything else in it and go for the weekend. Thank you 👍
I read that TX sold 30% of all suburbans in the 70s. I lived in Alaska in the '90s and they referred to the suburban as the Alaska Cadillac too. LOL . My father had one almost identical to this one except for it was a 2500 454 same color bench seat big mirrors. I love these old subs
hello. How is the illumination of the instrument panel on the dashboard? I mean the one that these cars had originally. Are the indicators backlit or does the light come from the frame or from a more distant location? It seemed to me that I saw dashboards from the time when the light came from an external spotlight. Although there are very few videos of the interior of these cars at night.
The bulbs light up a white plastic box in which gauges are located. In front of gauges is a bezel painted cyan blue on the inside, black on outside.. Gauges are set back a little behind that bezel which reflects light back on gauges. That blue surface makes the yellow light from bulbs seem more white than it actually is, clever little trick by GM.

I got a ‘77 gmc 4x4 3/4 Sierra grande, also in mariner blue
My grandpa had an 89 4x4 with the barn doors, always will be my dream car
I have a 88 but last time it ran was 5 years ago and were planning on fixing it.
1978 was the last year for the base six cylinder motor in Suburbans & the last year for the round gas hole with exposed gas cap too.

Cool
Out of the 50,000 Chevy/gmc square body suburbans made per year 30% were sold in Texas alone
She's a beauty 😍
Had no idea you liked bench seats anything else you like 👍
Those are sick floor mats where can I find them?
Sweet truck, man!
What blueprint engine? Also what lift?
Now that's nice!
Just paint it black and put a blue siren in it, boom! GTA San Andreas in real life.
Beautiful Truck
Suburban= Texas Cadillac
cadillac = texas cadillac but this is still sick

They actually marketed them that way! There was an ad for '89 Burb saying "We gave the Texas Cadillac a Park Avenue facelift"
Never heard of a 355 GM engine
DANG!!!

It’s just light bulbs that light up the instrument cluster.
@@jnorvintage thanks! :)
