    You are not insulting anybody, I agree with your description of Mexico and the USA. I am going back to Jalisco- Ajijic after spending close to 40 years in the USA (finally retired) and I never got used to the way of life you so accuaretly described in your video, I dislike living on credit never fell for it, it chains you, people never have time to socialize if you want to meet friends you need appointments, and life runs at a crazy pace. I go back to Mexico 4-5 times a year and I can not get enough of it. Greetings from Southern California.

      Thank you! 100% agree with all of that. The US definitely has it's monetary and aesthetic attributes, but maintaining quality human relationships is harder there than it is here.

    If your opinion of Americans and Canadians "friendliness " and value of family & relationships is so low, best you stay in Mexico. Enjoy the substandard infrastructure, the undrinkable water, the constant loud music, fireworks, etc. I lived in Ajijic and found the inconveniences, the over priced properties, and lack of unavailable goods and services, to be unliveable for me. Saying that properties there don't need work - tell that to a friend of mine who paid $380k for a house only to find out it had a laundry list of problems that's cost him $60k so far. Come to find out, sellers there don't have to disclose issues with a home they are selling and appraisers, inspectors are not always honest with the condition of the home. To say living in Mex is not Unicorns and rainbows is an understatement. People need to go live there for 6 months - year before making that decision.

    Oh my goodness, You are really refreshing. We hear so much negativity about Mexico, Narco gangs and violence…. We were looking at Merida and Panama, and the DR, Belize, live in Florida currently, I don’t think I want to work until I die in order to enjoy or afford retirement…. You have definitely opened my eyes to Mexico more…. Thank you…

    I just wondered if the HOA is just for security (gates) or are other things covered in some? (Landscape, roofs, etc.) (Thanks for these examples.)

      Typically HOA covers common maintenance, garbage, street lighting, security.

    Great video as always! As for me, I would only hire RELIABLE people that are on time... sorry, it's unacceptable waiting for lazy people and I do not care what culture I'm dealing with. That's where paying above average $$$$ will get the worker(s) moving... That extra cash/bonus does work! Money drives/motivates most people.

    I enjoy your videos very much.
    You have an enjoyable and informative presentation/concept.
    One suggestion for recording: You might consider placing camera at a slightly higher elevation, it will not be looking up the nose and will always present a more flattering presentation! (I hesitated to mention this, because your videos are so very good, but I’ve been watching for a couple years now and that was the only thing that I noticed and even if you don’t change a thing, your videos are still fun and informative to watch. Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!🎉❤)

      Also the light is coming from below from my marble floors shining the light right up into my nostrils in most of my videos hahahaaaa. Maybe it's actually lighting I need and not camera position. Or maybe both. 😂

    Another fabulous video, Amanda! Your sidebar was well said, and yes, there are Pros & Cons no matter where you live. We're closing in on our 1st year in Ajijic, and my favorite thing is still these genuinely happy and gracious people. We love it here. Remember that happiness is a choice wherever you choose to live.
    All 3 houses were great, and I can certainly see why your buyer chose house #3. I love that traditional, Mexican charm.
    Thank you for doing what you do and doing it the way you do it! 🥰

    Can one airbnb those homes in a gated comunnity? Like the first one on chapala haciendas?

    • @therealamandaturner
      @therealamandaturner  6 місяців тому

      No, short term rentals are not allowed in the first one, as it is in it's own community within the community. Not sure about Chapala Haciendas as a whole. I will get back to you on that.
