      @@MlungisiNkosi my apologies I think it’s 1:04:33 (I’m confused as to why you used 1.5 instead of 3 seconds when we calculated the time to be 1.5 x 2 = 3🤔🤔)

      @@dr_logical_b3a5t63 3s is the time for the ball to return to its original position but in the second question about max height, hence we used half of the time which is 1.5s

    What if I first calculated the time between A and B,coz we know that the time AB is the same time as BC...then after I can calculate the time between CD then I add them together

    at 28:52 nna i found vinal velocity first then found the distance that way.there were alot of steps involved in your workings. does that mean that a candidate that used your method would get credited more than i would?😭

    Hi, sir. For the 2nd question, why do we use the 30m as it is? Wouldn't that imply that the ball was dropped rather than thrown? Meaning that we have to use the max distance

      We always use displacement for this equations.

    Sir regarding Thembi(question 2), why didn't you include the 5.1m when calculating the time? From my understanding, we start counting from when it was thrown, to the maximum height then to when the ball touched the ground. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

      Awesome question... Please remember that the total displacement is taken in straight line from beginning to the end point. The displacement from beginning to the maximum height and from maximum height back to the same position is zero. Thus the total dissplacement to the ground will exclude the 5.1m value.
      I hope that makes sense

    Sir Mlungisi, I know it's late and the video is probably old, but I have a question about a certain Method I used.
    If you could seek the video to where you solve the 2 second question (minute 25:12) , where you use ∆y = -30m. I solved that question by combining the time from A-B, and from B-D using two different equations and still got 3.7s.
    I chose downwards as (+)
    My first equation was : Vf=Vi+a∆t
    0 = -10 + 9.8∆t
    ∆t = 1.02s
    Secons equation :
    ∆y = Vi∆t + ½a∆t²
    35.1= (0)∆t + ½(9.8)∆t²
    4.9∆t² = 35.1
    ∆t = 2.62
    .°. ∆t = 1.02+2.68
    = 3.70s

    Hi Sir. At 1:01:48 I got a positive displacement instead of negative. I took upwards as positive direction of motion & you took downwards as negative direction of motion. Please help cause we are supposed to get the same answer regardless of the direction of motion taken according to my understanding.

      Oh sir I just noticed that at the end when we had to add the two in order to get the distance, you didn't consider the signs and we ended up with the same answers so I guess its fine ?

    I first found the time of A toC which was 2.04 then i calculated the time of C to D which was 1,86 then i added both the time loops the answer was 3,9

    mr nkosi ,I am greatful for all these lesson but can kindly do a hot air baloon projectile together with a projectile with 2 object being thrown upwards or downwards .Looking firwad to such session and i blv thst u will un pack them

    Sir ok I get you on displacement when they cancelled each other out but with intial velocity of 10m/s I don't get y they don't cancel as they reach a starting point

    Sir I find the downwards as positive and determining the sign of the gravitational force confusing. When we take downwards as positive isn't the gravitational force for the ball A and B example going to be - when it goes up?

    Can u please print the questions in larger print. It took so long 4 me 2 eventually write the actual question cos u said it in bits & pieces. It was really difficult 2 understand whether ball A was on the ground or on the building. I am really grateful 4 all ur help but we need 2 understand the question b4 u start explaining so that copy is really important 2 our initial understanding of the question.

    you made a mistake by the quadratic formula , you forgot to make the 2(4.9) a negative it's suppose to be
