Hi Lee, I've built the LR7 7"er. To get a reliable compass and GPS I've had to use the the old style mast to get it above all the electrical interference. BTW I tried iNav but ended up with ArduCopter, it flies nice :-)
I like to explore and fly like that with these styles of model too. If you fly it fast then you'll drain the pack quickly but there are other models that are better suited to that if that is how you want to fly.. Happy flying!
Hi! Yes this is the best, but if the budget allows choose between 5 or 6, what would you recommend? In terms of high loading (full gopro plus lion battery) and I'm looking for best flight time and jello free. Thanks again
I loved the 5 but no GPS on it. I flew mine so much I ended up losing it. There is a little more jello on the frames with the longer arms so the extra arm braces do need to be fitted..
nice big quads finally available without having to build from scratch, but having said that I honestly really enjoy the building process so would probably buy the frame and kit it out so it can run on 3s or 4s or 6s then you have even more scope to spin big props slowly for longer endurance. Stay safe Lee.
wow what is tbs receiver? How can it have two immortal antennas working together vertical and horizontal? this is nice for long range. Mine is only horizontally set up that if I turn 90 degrees to the tx antenna I get weak signal. This is brilliant!
Depends on flight time and cruising speed. If you can fly at 30mph for 20 mins then that means total 10miles trip distance - 5 miles out, 5 miles back. The VTX and Crossfire setup on this would work on that range too. Beware of local laws as flying beyond line of sight (BLOS) is illegal in lots of places (as is using higher powers on your VTX).. Happy flying!
Although this looks like a great quad, I am curious about your method of presentation here. You present this quad (to my interpretation) like it is somehow unique and you seem to be suggesting that 7" long range quads were not really available before this Rekon. I am confused about this, as there are quads such as the Chimera 7 that seem to do pretty much the exact same thing as this quad, and that have been around and readily available for a long time. Could you perhaps illuminate me on this presentation choice? Thanks.
Comes stock with a compass. So it's presented from rekon as iNAV ready. But I'm waiting for hglrc to order the inav cli dump. Other than that. Seems same as others. Lighter and smaller than chimera7 Heavier than crocodile 7. Has no bigger GPS . But don't know chimera7 gps size. ..
Hi Mr P Great video and review of the RECON 7, I would like to have this over than my explorer. If I could afford it I would love to get the DJI googles and use it over analog. But I will never have them. So analog is it. Thanks again for the video and information
@@Painless360 There I agree however, I own more than one year a Flywoo Mr. Croc 7”. I never had such issues with that drone (it’s actually on my profile picture). Doesn’t matter if the props will beat up or completely new, it works always fine. I think the frame harmonics / resonance frequency are the problem. My fix for the problem is easy - I just ordered a new Mr. crock & Will drop on that the internals of the Rekon7 😅
@@Painless360 my Rekon6 has braces, the Rekon7 Pro came without. I have however unfortunately also the same issue with the Rekon6 (with braces). In fact it’s there even worse. While on the Rekon7 GoPro stabilization is able to remove vibrations from recorded footage, the Insta 360 SMO on the Rekon6 is not able to do so and the footage is useless. I only have such issues with Rekon quads. All my other BNF or custom builds (5 or 7 inch) fly fine.
Thank You! My Rekon 7 Pro arrived today and watching your video on how to set it up. From hot Frisco, TX

Hey Stephen! Compass works well, see the link in description.. Happy flying
Yea my rekon5 I put inav in. I'll have times compass won't work no matter what.
how does it comprare iflight chimera 7?
Looks awesome Lee keep up the great work.
Yes! Finally! So nice. Been waiting on the right config for my slow ass flight style and penchant for the views and long flight.

They did here. Still a little occasionally on the 7"..
@@Painless360 thanks, how about 6? No jello with braces?
See my video on it..

Oh finally.. been waiting for your video on it lol
With RTF models with Crossfire built in as this is it wired complete that you can use the "My VTX '"feature and change power through agent X ?
It's via a standard UART connection so it should do. Nothing different to how a home builder would attach it..
I just got my new Chimera 7” in today. Oh well it’s an awesome quad as well. I may get one of these too
can’t wait to see a waypoint mission on inav 👍🏼👍🏼
Great review on the rekon7
I’m trying to spot where the receiver is located and how it’s mounted, but no luck. Any chance you might be able to tell me?
Hidden inside, it's only the size of a fingernail so it'll go anywhere you can get it. Image of mine in the community tab..

ah crossfire diversity that you have mentioned.
What is the range of this quad? And max distance to you can send it out ?

Fantastic looking quad, Lee! Amazing flying and review! 😃
Dave C is killing it!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
20mins out of a 2200 5s? Is that hovering lol i fly with 3700 6s and get about 9mins cruising at 80-90kph
9 mins is quite impressive :) we're getting 12 minutes full speed on a 6S 5000
OOOOH I want one of these

How to bind rekon7 with radio master tx16s?
Depends on what reciever you have in it . See my Multiprorocol videos on how to bind popular protocols... Happy flying!
Is it possible to show the esc settings .
ESC settings are not changed from the Betaflight stuff. I've not touched them. What problem are you having?
Hi, what is the thickness of the arms in mm?
6mm
GPS reception was very poor on osd ((.
GPS and Compass performance are easily good enough for INAV. See link in description.
only 7 sat‘s after 4 minutes... that’s really poor...
Damn. an F722! No ardupilot then!
How far ranged?
Depends on the VTX power, antennas, local RC conditions and the radio system you are using.. Best of luck!
Is there a 4s version?
Doesn't look like it.. rekonfpv.com/collections/long-range/products/rekon7-pro-long-range-fpv-racing-drone-6s-digital-version
Copy of an Iflight-titan-dc7?
I prefer the UK made and designed Tomahawk 7 inch cruiser from fossil stuff!
Thanks for the idea Tony, is that INAV capable too?
@@Painless360 it can be yes
Excellent, so it already has a compass installed and configured or are you saying that it 'could have' i.e. doesn't at the moment?
@@Painless360 it could have I mean mine has return to home 🏡
It has unfortunately very bad vibrations
For models over 6", blade balancing is a good idea... best of luck
