Suzuki GSX 1400 FE Rebuild - The Video Story

- This is for the GSX enthusiast really - lots of stills, come cool music and a few comic video clips.
The bike had suffered the common 2nd/6th gear fault, we decided that whilst the engine was out we should completely rebuilt the machine and bring it gleaming in to 2021.
I should add that we weren't aiming to create a show bike, hence some of the original patina and a few edges were left as found. We wanted a sound, smart and slicker looking machine than before, I think we achieved that.
Powder-coated frame, new paint, heated grips, new oil cooler, beautifully modded clocks, hugger, nickel plated cases, a new tail-end and some LED goodies, new shocks. Oh yeah - AND a sorted gearbox :-)

Love it, I refurbed the slave and master cylinder on the clutch on my gsx, in packet was a round 5p sizes metal plastic covered round seal with a hole in it. I thought mmm done everything might as well put this in. " big mistake!" It's the push rod seal that goes through engine. It wasn't leaking it was fine, it was in kit. Errrrrrrr. After pocking it for a couple of hours ( should have known better) ended up engine out of bike, upside down, split engine in half to replace a 50p seal. Errors don't any body make same mistake. Also banjo bolts on reservoirs different thread to calipers why? That causes problems. Great video

Thanks - the rear under-tray is the standard Suzuki part carefully cut down following the profile. The light fitting is an Ebay fits all part. Hope this helps.
Very unlucky to get a knackered box. The 14 is almost indestructible. Unless you hop it up.

Mostly from Fowlers who are just brilliant, other bits like hugger and indicators from Ebay.
