I love turbo sounds. What you lose in volume compared with n/a cars you gain in character from the turbos. Forced induction cars are just more interesting and characterful.
I was passenger in one on the Nürburgring and wow it's very fast around that track. Really nimble and stable. The seats look uncomfortable as hell but they are actually really comfy and very supportive. Great work by KTM
For a brand that isn't as big as the more popular ones like Lambo or Ferrari, KTM brought this out and it stole my heart from first sight. That edgy and sharp design always hits harder than any other. Definitely Car of the Year worthy. I mean who doesn't like a road legal race car?
I might be inclined to agree but that steering... so terrifying. It looked like he was trying to turn it INTO that oncoming car... but no just trying to make a slight lane change... That steering is WAY too vague for a car of that performance level. Go talk (or watch interviews) with Actual professional drivers, Aka people who do it at speed for a living, not just someone who has insurance to do it for reviews. Not a good feeling to have in a car with that power at all.

@@philosoraptor777 What you hear in the video is the sound of the excess boost escaping when he lifts his foot off the throttle, wich is let out by the blow off valve or diverter valve. The wastegate is located in the hot part of the turbo and lets excess exhaust gasses out to regulate the boost and to prevent the turbo from overspinning, to my knoledge, it has no distinct sound. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

My huge congratulations to their achievement that is out of this world! BTW does this road-going-formula have flexible susspension that lifts belly up for getting over speed humps? They are over 10 inches in our town....
this also has 96 liters of fuel capacity, great for long distance trips (if you can bare with uncomfy seats) and, even more important, longer track sessions between refuels
An amazing car with a full carbon chassis! 🏁It clearly possesses a rigidity different from cars made of metal. When this car is running at high speeds, it is evident that it experiences a very strong downforce. I believe that Dallara is heavily involved in its development.
Single seat off road only track day toy would be amazing! Especially if they simplify it and make some of the CF bits out of regular fiberglass so they can cut the price a bit as a result. Also I know it would be slower but I would take mine with three pedals and an h shifter like a T.50, please and thank you!
This and Praga Bohemia are the recipe for a supercar....very very lightweight and proven engine inside that is reliable. KTM moved the game one step ahead
I previously owned a xbow r. When you crash, be live me, those 4 point harnesses save your life. There is nothing “soft” in a carbon monocoque. I agree, a pain in the ass to buckle up every time. But it’s necessary.

Fun fact: KTM bicycles have the same Logo as the motos, they're also have there HQs in the same small town. BUT the bike manufacturer is owned by a completly different company which has nothing to do with motobike's producer. 😉

This is the coolest car made by any big brand that i have seen in a long time. I would love to see big corporate Brands doing small boutique Enthusiast projects like this more n more and once they see that the demand is there they can probably just start mass-producing Enthusiast cars that don't have to be compromised for the majority consumer Market

That's a spectacular car. The hatch opening canopy must have been inspired by the Batmobile. But the canopy hatch opening sequence needs to be dampered. The window needs a sliding section for the drive-thru. It needs side mirrors, and the Taillights need covers.
Reminds of the “Aguilla” kit car from the 70’s. It had the same roof lifting mechanism. It was a VW bug underneath though. Not exactly high performance!
And to think that you can easily push the 5 cylindres from Audi to 1200 to 1500 HP without any problems🤯 This engine is the jewel of the crown just as the 2JZ 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

started indicating before he checked his mirror. you're supposed to only indicate when it's clear to move over. but the Renault didn't check his mirror, just indicated, and only then noticed the KTM barreling towards him at 200 km/h.
It's definitely cool and different. Wasn't sure of the cost. However, money aside, i think the T50 or McMurtry would definitely have to be cars of the years! I know all very different cars but if i had to choose definitely over this. Also probably closer to an F1 car. T50 even sounds as good or even better than an f1 car.
Give me the choice and it'd be the easiest decision ever. Who would choose the Speirling or this over the T50? This is a cool car(looks nicer than the T50 too), but the T50 is a pure driver's car. It's special in all the right ways, there's no real compromise anywhere. Manual transmission, sweet spot horsepower, naturally aspirated, V12, insane rpms, drivable on a daily basis...no compromise in terms of making the perfect driver's car. The McMurty Speirling is a track toy and does some cool things, but an EV just wouldn't cut it for me. Compare that electric wheedle and the noise of the fan...with the scream of an 11k(?) rpm V12...it's like comparing non-alcoholic beer with a hundred year old malt whiskey. And this car is brutally cool looking, and seems like a lot of fun, but again there's no contest against the T50. The only area where the T50 loses is in looks; Gordon Murray's cars have never been great looking. But then again that Speirling looks like a chibi Batmobile(not a compliment), so it's got the beating of it there too.
I had an RS3, and I can tell then engine in this sounds far more uncorked. I'd imagine having it 8 inches from your head and bolted to a carbon tub really turns up the wick. It's a shame they're not in the US and they're just low production numbers.
The car is just... bonkers!! absolutely a weapon... but i am not sure about the steering rack, seems like it's not responsive at all? It just does not look sharp at all, to make a simple curve you need to turn nearly 180 degree the steering wheel xD

there should always be a slight low oan from the tires while cornering, some argument, otherwise they will cool off and you risk them not answering the call, always bark the tires around corners, push push push, not saying attack, tora tora tora! just push

i love ktm bikes, but the xbow was already crazy and now they've gone even crazier.

T.50 is the hypercar of the decade...but it will be hard for AutoTopNL to get one for a review. Still I hope that it happens
