I started listening to Analord around December 2021, when I was 15. This song was one of the ones in particular that stood out to me, and I had already listened to part of it before in a meme posted on Reddit. Two months later, I fell in love with someone, and I showed him this song. I told him how much it reminded me of him, and we would listen to it together or separately from time to time. It was wistfully beautiful. Pretty recently, about a month ago, he stopped talking to me, and to be honest, things have never been the same for over a year. I still miss him a lot sometimes, and I can't help but cry just a bit when I listen to this, or 19 bradley echoes (another song by Aphex Twin), as both remind me of how much I loved him. I find that electronic music is much more beautiful in several aspects, because the appreciation of it can be strengthened so much by personal memories that you gain with the songs. Perhaps it is just me, but I get that kind of thing a lot with Aphex Twin, and lots of other electronic artists like Autechre who also make electronic music. I have limitless appreciation for Richard's work, and especially this song in particular as it serves as one of the most memorable songs, if not the most memorable and emotionally empowered, simply because of the memories I have that are intertwined with it. Thank you to whoever took their time reading this, and perhaps you may also have your own beautiful experiences associated with Richard's arguably endless catalogue.
I love it, how he composes it layers by layers, adding complexity coherently, I thought that he was asking himself questions in this music and answering himself too, asking, answering, you can think of any questions and answers. This is really beautiful, especially when you are sensitive to the sound and variations of the "logical' rhythm.
I like this track, it's melancholic as all hell but the way it progresses and layers over and over just works so nice... it's almost like an argument I think, like the track is arguing with itself then it makes its point and settles down. How come more artists can't write a track that has a tangible personality like afx can.
Your awesome man! Perfect explanation! Check out buckethead pikes. He’s got close to 300 albums to sort through but each album is basically one idea improvised. Each album has different personalities like you say.
'How come more artists can't write a track that has a tangible personality like afx can.' I think a lot because he has no formal musically training (afaik), but tunes his instruments anyway. 3 yr late reply thx
The sensation of a confortable isolation is so great in this song, just you, your thoughts, all your mind can create and work and of course: Peace, so much peace...
I’d play this song to show an alien how it feels to come to a realisation you know will haunt you. I love the way this track starts as the tranquil feeling of despair, but becomes a symphony of paranoia.
It feels like he connects to something deep within himself and that lets us connect to it as well, by listening to his music. I also have cried to a good number of his tracks.
@@AllanceloT. I just read it now, after 3 years. LMAO. I was trippin at acid in my bed with this playing on my headphones and i really imagined something like it. Damn even the cold of the snow at my foots... oh no! I think i went full emo again, sorry!
Conqlusion19 That's what explained the french philosopher Henri Bergson. Art reveal us all the useless things we can't see because we're focused on useful things. So, yes, good music can reveal you the emotions you never paid attention.
I feel strong emotions from RDJ's music but they're the same as what I get from other sources that affect me. Lol. I love me some AFX but don't get carried away...
wow! i love this, very mysterious, creepy and psychedelic sounding vibes. Sounds timeless. I can imagine a dimension where this song plays for infinity on a loop.
E come se qualcosa di molto inquietante entrasse nel tuo spirito e ti lasciasse una malinconia incancellabile dalla propria memoria. Dove i ricordi e i dolori si fondono dando vita a determinate melodie e colori....💣 change yaself ! Re style ur life 🎡
Yeah the main synthline is one of his own, I think there is also a Roland 101 in there. He used to record most of his stuff on home made synths along with samplers and traditional gear.
this stabs me right in the heart with an 1/8 inch patch cable.
hahahahaha
loool luv it
When I found this track I had been awake for over 24 hours yet couldn't fall asleep, this track perfectly described how I felt in that moment
it happened to me at this moment :0

Nicely said
It's like most producers go "ok I need a kick, then a snare, then..." but the best ones give each sound a personality

This, I hear when I'm slowly going back to the bus stop on a dark rainy autumn afternoon.
Revolutionary art speaking about a higher truth, so hard to accept but the only way to trascend… Respect.

I love the way this track starts as the tranquil feeling of despair, but becomes a symphony of paranoia.
This song still bangs harder than a lot of music released after it. RDJ is a real life synth wizard.
And as an electrical engineer of course he makes his own synth among other electro-automaton robots to play instruments ... Way ahead of his time
Old forgotten memories come alive again before your eyes like on a movie screen! Beautiful melancholy! I love it!
I can't stop listening to this. There is this feeling of inevitability that pervades this song, like being trapped in an endless loop.
you said it
this guy has smth. at one point of every song i find myself crying and don't know why.

This seriously almost makes me cry.
one of the best examples of melancholy out there tbh
Thank you for answering to this. I hadn't listen to it for years!
Aphex Twin is my philosophy.

Depression has a strange kinda comfort.
have not heard music as true as this

One of the best Analords.
AFX really is the Mozart of the electronic music. He just paints the sounds. A Rembrandt. Pure genius.
