The complex overhaul of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) involves far more than metal and machines. Join the Sailors as they prepare to get underway - many for the first time.
WOW!!! This has been 2 years... I remember when they interviewed us for that. My interview is at 8mins 20secs in this was right before we went to Thailand. #memories
+Mr. Mo Did you like Bremerton?I've lived in Bremerton for going on 27 years, and I remember when the Nimitz came here in 1989.I also remember when your ship was here while this was being filmed.I worked in the Mothball fleet for many years.I hope you liked our community.
Was that the pool at the Bangor Submarine base? My dad was stationed on the Nimitz from 83-88 with the last year being in Bremerton.... the Bremerton Base pool was pretty industrial but the pool was awesome and there were saunas in the locker room. She needs to sit in the steam for half an hour then take a high dive plunge and that will clear everything up
I felt sorry for the sailor who is waiting to be with her husband and he can't find employment in the area and have to return to Florida. After being in the Air Force and not being with the family when they need you is what I endured and know how this lady must have felt.
Yes. She was complaining. That may be her self defense mechanism. She completed the training, passing the requirement. Complaining is good when we learn from our complaining that in the real world losing our conveyance, our ship, when we are healthy is not realistic. We, she in this case, must adapt to her environment to survive. Accomplishing the training exercise while ill may save her life in a real life situation.
Did anyone else notice that during one shot of the flooding sequence, the right rudder & pin are entirely is missing with water beginning to flood the dock?!!!!! No rudder pin equals fatal flooding!
I worked rifle ranges at Ft Jackson 1985-1988 I never altered a zero on a borrowed weapon. Never had a problem at qualification. That was using beat up M16s and A1s.
Joel Threatt rifles setting are like the bell curve most people eyes alignment falls within a certain level of right eye dominance. Wouldn’t surprise me if she was left eye dominant even if she is right handed
Ha-ha-ha - I don't think Katherine Osborne is what'd you call a 'People person' but I like her- underneath, I think there's a very dry sense of humour there I believe !
I hope so - coz we don't know if it floats yet! Well I guess it does - but it would be nice to see the final tasks leading to getting back on the open sea. Anyone know how to contact the production team? Anyone reading this from the production team?
What a wasted episode!!! What does it have to do with the ship overhaul activities???? False advertising! Commanding Officers - Why don't you review these video productions and make sure they stick to the mission of showing us the overhaul activity???
I think part of that is she seem a bit introvert and I’m guessing she finally got comfortable on the Nimitz and she is back to being surround by strangers.... I was a Navy Brat and I can remember from 4th grade until high school being in a completely new location every year except 7-8 grade and going from an outgoing person into an introvert. Given how old this video is I hope she came out of her shell
It was nice to see Osborne come out of her shell after her TAD. Well done!
Huge props to the Navy for making this video series. This is just incredible. Best people and best ships in the world.
Praying For You Guys
God Bless The US Navy

5:12 Wow, I can't believe the Navy did not edit this interview out. Telling the truth about Navy berthing compartments. Breath of fresh air.
I've been watching and enjoying this very much. It's great stuff.
Wonderful tvserie. Thanks a lot.
This is an excellent series. I can't wait to be apart of the Navy team!!!!!!
Osborne just get some headphones for sleep. And you need to smile more often you are gorgeous and model material.
Went through 17 month major overhaul on USS Kinkaid DD 965 in 1987-1988, USS Whidbey Island LSD 41 1993-1994 and USS Wasp LHD 1 2003.
I couldn't serve under Barry and his husband but now we got a real commander in chief I'd do it gladly

@19:43 he is telling her how to shoot, and she doesn't know her zero on a freshly drawn weapon!
I was wondering the same thing, why are you explaining iron sights to anyone who passed bootcamp.

The barracks in West Germany back in the early 80's............Parties almost every night.........Unless you're in the field.
