Check out "Zen" (live), "Revive" (live), "Hypnosis", "Adabana", and "Rise". Murata Tamu's kit is Tama drums with Meinl cymbals. All of the members are Mayu (vocals), Haraguchi-san (Bass), Murata Tamu (Drums), Hazuki (Guitar, on the "left" with the bassist), and Saki (Guitar on the "right", she just recently left Nemophila). Due to Saki exiting the band they are now a four piece instead of five piece.

Murata Tamu is playing Tama Silverstar Jet Blue Burst, her older kit. She is now using Star Classic Walnut Birch Drum Kit. Tamu endorses Tama Drums since 2016 (during her early 20s) and had been an active member of Tama Star Japan - acting as spokesperson and drum instructor for Tama Drum Clinic in Japan and China. She got her own signature drumstick Tama H-TMTM. In 2019 she signed another endorsement contract with Meinl Cymbal.

@@inthepitwithsteve My pleasure and I guess she is using standard setup for her TAMA Star Classic and as for the MEINL Cymbals, Tamu opt for Byzance series for the typical setup which are:
      - Byzance 15" DUAL HIHAT,
      - Byzance 10" EXTRA DRY SPLASH
      - 3 Byzance Vintage (20" SAND RIDE - Benny Greb's signature model, 10" TRASH SPLASH and 16" TRASH CRASH),
      - 4 Byzance Traditional (6" SPLASH, 20" CHINA, 18" THIN CRASH and 17" MEDIUM THIN CRASH).
It might not be accurate as time goes by since she loves creating things and that includes looking into new unique sounds.

The band formed in 2019. This is arguably their most aggressive song in terms of lyrics, and the effect used on Myu's scream (which is totally awesome even without FX).
You can pretty much pick any video off their channel and win: they haven't released a bad track yet, although their output has been so varied and diverse that a few of the songs are a bit less popular amongst metal gatekeepers.
The sentiment most frequently expressed by UA-cam reactors who discover Nemophila is "I wasn't expecting that". The same phrase is often repeated when they watch another video, and the one after that, and the one after that ...
Their foundation is metal/metalcore but they have also strayed into the realms of punk, thrash, pop, rap, power ballad, hard rock and more.
    Mayu: vocal
SAKI: 7-string guitar (recently left the band due to the dreaded "musical differences" 😔 )
    Hazuki: 7-string guitar
    Haraguchi-san AKA Hara-chan: 5-string bass
    Tamu Murata: Drums
All members do backing vocals. Tamu the drummer, carries the bulk of the backing vocal load at live shows as the other members move around the stage a lot and are frequently off their mics. Epic musicians one and all.

Mayu vocalist definitely had compression and effects in the mv. Thing is she does not need it her fry vocals are sick live without the effects. This is an issue with Japanese bands, the music industry compresses and tweaks things like crazy in studio. It is one of the primary reason so many fans push for watching live. I know you have heard the same from your Babymetal, Band Maid and Lovebites reactions. As for more Nemo their 1st song Oiran live (newest one) is a great intro to their live sound and presence. Addendum you have seen Babymetal, Nemo, Band Maid and Lovebites, time to check out Hanabie. Don’t watch their new release, it is a good song but really off from their normal sound. Most say start with We Love Sweets or Pardon Me I Have to Go Now.

Ok, now you need to do MAXIMUM THE HORMONE - A.L.I.E.N. They are VERY influential in the Japan rock/metal scene. Many Japanese bands probably wouldn't exist if were not for MTH. Case in point, Akane Hirose of Band Maid, did not know girls were allowed to play rock drums until she saw Nao from MTH playing. Another all girl band, Hanabie (Ha-Na-Be-Eh), started out as a MTH cover band in high school. You should really check out Hanabie and their song, Otaku Lovely Densetsu. They will blow your mind.
Also, did you know India has metal bands? Yes. Really. Check out Bloodywood and their song, Aaj(today). Don't worry, they sing in Hindi and English.

NEMOPHILA are a fantastic band. I was lucky to see them twice, before guitarist SAKI departerd. Each song has a (sometimes wildly) different sound, and each video presents a different sartorial style. Two extremes in the NEMOPHILA songbook are found in the super heavy, yet inspirational RISE, and the best 80's power ballad you've never heard, ODYSSY.
DISSENTION, their first single, came out during the pandemic, while they were also producing dozens of great cover songs for UA-cam; I finally clicked when I saw them wearing KISS makeup in the thumbnail for DETROIT ROCK CITY, but their channel is a great way to discover many other great Japanese bands, like SHOW-YA, ROTTENGRAFFTY, KISHIDEN, PRINCESS PRINCESS, X-JAPAN, and more.
TAMA MURATA is a renowned session drummer, an she plays TAMA. You can see her blue-and-white shells in this demo for their best song, OIRAN - ua-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/v-deo.html (check out the latest live version after).
SAKI was still playing with MARY'S BLOOD ( Check out this video of MARIONNETTE -- ua-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/v-deo.html ) when she got involved with vocalist MAYU, who put together the lineup that would become NEMOPHILA.

The drummer is Tamu Murata. I believe she is a signed artist for both Tama drums and Meinl cymbals. She normally uses 5 Toms, 1 snare, 1 bass drum using 2 double kick pedals. I’m not a musician, so please excuse any inaccuracies.

    Great reaction!....Nemophila is 🔥🔥🔥
Most people start with Dissention (MV, Japanese ver.) or Revive (MV) and then Adabana (MV), Rise (MV), etc.
Here are suggestions based on Mayu's lead vocal style
    Cleans
    Raitei (Live) ua-cam.com/video/6aoghIEPOYc/v-deo.html
    Seize the Fate (Live) ua-cam.com/video/yyKGK1Se4bo/v-deo.html
    Odyssey (MV) ua-cam.com/video/J8RhjQpFf_Q/v-deo.html
    Life (live) ua-cam.com/video/CxmLOhDVoyw/v-deo.html
    Cleans + Screams
    Revive (Live) ua-cam.com/video/t2eMoKvsvBE/v-deo.html
    Rise (Live) ua-cam.com/video/DaFN5J4iPLI/v-deo.html
    Dissention (MV) ua-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/v-deo.html
    Oiran (Live) ua-cam.com/video/5qABnfChpbk/v-deo.html
    Adabana (MV) ua-cam.com/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/v-deo.html
    Ama-Te-Ras (Live) ua-cam.com/video/96LQimRqJgM/v-deo.html
    Screams
    Zen (Live) ua-cam.com/video/k1yPbBRHFms/v-deo.html
'Zen' (live), Oiran (live) and Dissention (MV) are some of their hardest and best songs
'Live' is an emotional 'ballad-like' song sung in the video as a 'welcome back' to Tamu (drummer) after her maternity leave. Great song and shows a completely different side of Nemophila.
'Ama-Te-Ras' is quite unique 'groovy metal' song and one of their best as well

There's actually another version of this song and music video called "U.S. Version." The music video is completely different and also that version is completely in English. You should check out, Steve. Its also on Nemophila's youtube channel along with this one. Maybe even react to that second version.
The funniest part is that some people have complained that this version isn't as good as the "Japanese original." They're so passionate about the Japanese lyrics in the original Dissension. But here's the big movie twist... The supposed "original Japanese version" was already like 90% in English! "Dissension" literally only has 5 1/2 lines in Japanese! That's it! So less than 10% is in Japanese, the rest is all in English. The "U.S. Version" just adds 5 1/2 more lines in English to a song that was already mostly English to begin with. Crazy, right?
I've noticed that a lot of the folks who trash the "U.S. version" aren't even native English speakers themselves. So it seems like a lot of it is just pure hate on English, and it's clearly not based on any real knowledge or understanding. It bums me out, you know, because the people who are telling others not to check out the U.S. version are completely misguided. I mean, it's just ridiculous to say that a version with the vast majority of lyrics in English somehow magically got worse when literally 5 1/2 lines of Japanese was turned into English.
Besides, Nemophila has made it pretty clear that they dig singing in English. They've covered several English language songs, and they've got original tunes that run the gamut from mostly Japanese with some English thrown in, to half Japanese half English, to songs like this one that are mostly in English with just a tiny sprinkling of Japanese. So it's not like the "U.S. version" is some huge departure for them or anything.
And this is nothing unique in the Japanese music industry. Many, many Japanese music artists throughout the decades, across all kinds of genres, have songs with some English lyrics and/or entire songs in English. Some even go their whole careers singing almost exclusively in English even though they are Japanese. You've already experienced some of that with Lovebites. Literally, every single song that Lovebites has ever put out is 100% English. Now, I know that may be hard to believe when you hear their songs because Asami's (the lead singer) English pronunciation is a bit iffy (to say the least), but it's still English through and through.
So yeah, Steve, keep that "U.S. version" of "Dissension" in mind.

I am an English-speaking American and I prefer...YES, PREFER...the Japanese version. No matter how many Japanese lines exist, who sings what in English, etc., etc.
To me the Japanese lyrics/vocals are like an additional 'instrument' to my ear with their unique rhythm, accents, etc. It adds something to the song (for me). In fact I prefer a mixture of Japanese/English lyrics in their songs...Rise, Revive, etc.
As for the actual video production, I also PREFER the Japanese MV to the U.S. Version stylistically, emotionally, etc. But I agree others should check out both versions and decide which they prefer as well.
I'll leave terms such as "Better/Best" to other folks :)

@@994pt4 It's like you posted that and didn't really understand what you read. There is no "Japanese version" of "Dissension." The song is already almost entirely in English. Trying to actually make a big deal over just 5 1/2 lines being turned to English in a song that's predominantly English already? Talk about an overreaction. The thing is, many people didn't realize the song was mainly in English from the get-go. Her strong accent while singing made many people think she was belting it out in Japanese the whole time. Then, when they heard about a "U.S. version," many of them went on the attack without thinking. It really makes no sense to put down the "U.S. version" of "Dissension" as inferior when all it does is make a song that's basically all in English, well, completely in English.
"To me the Japanese lyrics/vocals are like an additional 'instrument' to my ear"
No. You are taking another language and putting it on a bizarre pedestal. Pure imaginary. To literally say that somehow 5 1/2 lines that amount to maybe no more than 15 seconds makes all the difference in the world is just lunacy. You even described "Rise" and "Revive" as supposedly "Japanese/English" and putting "Japanese" first as if it was mostly a Japanese song with some English mixed in. Except that both those songs like "Dissension" are majority in English. Heck, "Revive," I believe has only two lines in Japanese.
