The chassis got put together and dusted. I hand painted the whitewalls on the tires, and the engine is installed and detailed up too.

Good job on the 'Bird! TV Rockford's cars began with the 1974 model, but he's already well established as a PI. So, Jim had to start some years earlier, and this '68 could be his first new car after those PI paychecks began rolling in! Sounds plausible. 😊
Thank you. Yeah, he must have had a cousin that owned a Pontiac dealership and kept swapping him out every year. LOL
Everything is looking fantastic.. Your motor is great as well as your undercarriage.👍 Really appreciate the fine detailing,, those are the things that make everything POP. 🎉 Can't wait for the final video.👍
Thank you very much. I love to do the small detail work.
Love the little figures that you place around the parts of the model at the introduction of the update videos.
Thank you very much. My crew is awesome. They work very hard and never backtalk. LOL I have a group page on Facebook where I use them a lot more. GrandpaMark's Hobbies is the name of the group. We are now over 1000 strong and everyone there is super kind and very talented.
That master cylinder is killer. Great idea! It all looks great!
Thank you very much. It worked out well. I just hated the way it was molded. Seriously great detail on the bottom, and a wing on top. Just couldn't leave it that way.
Incredible detailing Mark! I learned quite a few good tips! Your engine wiring is so realistic! Looking forward to the final. 😎👍
Thank you very much.
That looks great, Mark. Your engine bays always blow me away.
Prismacolor makes a silver pencil that works really well for scripts and strips that are too thin for paint or foil.
Thank you very much. Thanks. I'll order one of those. Thank you very much.
Incredible detail as usual Mark. From interior to tires - wow. Tickled!? You should be ROFLOL !!! Exhaust weathering and the rest looks great man. Looking forward to the upcoming videos. Thanks so much.
Thank you very much. I have to admit I am puffy chested over this one. Not one thing went even a little off. First time in a long time that I am this happy with how it came out.
@@grandpamarkshobbies Hey when your good, your good man! Just awesome work!!
Thanks.
Excellent work on this one. It is looking really nice. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much.
That's some seriously detailed work ... haha! Excellent Job!
For some reason I dug deep into this one. I have to print a license plate tonight and then it's done.
Looking good. Engine look fantastic
Thank you very much.
Getting closer. I tend to go a little faster than I should during these last steps of assembly, and, some stuff that could be fixed don't get fixed due to the rush to finish a kit. Especially on kits that cause me problems! BTW I used to watch the Rockford files as a kid, loved his cars and really loved the theme song. This build looks good and will look good finished.
I am the same way. I really have to watch. I tend to do the same thing and then look down and there's my drive shaft sitting on the desk with the engine and rear end glued in tight. LOL
@@grandpamarkshobbies I've done the same exact thing!
glad you have the tools & the time to do what you do.i kinda finished a 68 chevell.and working on a barracuda.it was yellow. but I spray painted it a red color.my first problem is when I put the winshield in where I always mess up.
Thank you very much. I still dread putting in the glass. Lately I've been doing it a bit different (3 builds now) and it seems to work well. I've been tacking the glass in with Clear Mod Podge, then after that dries over night I weld the glass in with Quick Shine. I'll dip a pointed brush in it and put the tip on the inside corner of the glass. The Quick Shine sucks off the brush, goes into the gap around the glass and the kit and welds it in strong. I will be making a video next month on the GTO on how I do it.
Great update love all the details 👍🏿
Thank you very much.
Loving the build. 🏁
Thank you very much.
Looking good Mark.
Thank you very much.
Coming along nicely 😅
Thank you very much.
Looks great, waiting tor the final.
Thank you. I hope to have it posted Sunday.
Very amazing work, your detailing is fantastic
Thank you very much. I like to see how much extra I can do for almost no money. LOL
Looking great👍
Thank you very much.
Hi Grandpa, the Pontiac is looking verh nice, I am primarily a armour modeller (sorry) but I do have the AMT '59 Cadillac Ambulance to build, happy modelling and bedt regards from Australia, Les
Thank you very much. I have done some amour and I do enjoy doing it. When I get my new shop setup I will do an overview and show my amour kits and ships too.
Yup, the tire rings I did the same in red, worked okay, not great but passable.....:)
Thank you very much. I am super happy with how those came out. Much better than if I tried to use white decals. The trick was scuffing the ring with the sanding stick. I tried one that I didn't do that and it just didn't paint as well.
Very Nice!
Thank you very much.
Looks good brother. Nice detail work!
Thank you very much.
Is looking really great 👍👍
Thank you very much.
This is looking super good!
Thank you very much.
Great update and great tips
Thank you very much.
My 68 Camaro had the floor clock. It never worked until one night I was "parking" with my date when we heard the clock and it worked again for about two days. It never worked again.
That is funny as heck.
Looks Awesome G-Paw... Just got my internet back after 8 days and I don't have time to go back and get caught up but can not wait to see the ending... Lol
LLAP 🖖
Glad you are back with us. Man 8 days with no internet. I'd have gone nuts. LOL
@@grandpamarkshobbies I just vegged out on movies as it was raining most of the time and taking the dogs out for a bit now and then... Did not get any modeling or video stuff done, just was not in the mood...
Now I have to try to get back to it and that is going to be hard sad to say. I have like 3 hours of stuff ready to prime and a bunch of 3D parts ready to prime as well, just can't get there... Lol
LLAP 🖖
I totally understand. Sometimes you just need to take a break. Just don't let it get you down.
@@grandpamarkshobbies I'll get there... Lol Oh and my suv is still in the shop with 4-wheel drive issues, they changed the transfer case and that is not it and that has me stressed too... 😥 At least they gave me a car to drive but the dogs miss their rides which is a bummer too... 🖖
I'm so sorry. Teri's Honda has a bad alternator. I thought Shoot I can change that in twenty minutes. Yeah right. After I saw what has to be pulled I told her to take it in. Not only does the belt tensioner need to come off, but the power steering pump, and the radiator needs to be pulled forward so it will fit. Give me a 350 any day.
Cool Man!! Those tail lens, were they clear? wish they wouldnt do that. But all in the build!
Yes they were. I wish they would have been red too, it takes about an hour for that clear red to dry all the way.
@@grandpamarkshobbies The 66 Chevelle was the same, i used reflector paint and the silver backing. You sid about the backing, they wet right in, tho with a very thin coat of glue. i used lens glue.
Yeah, these were a bit tight and wanted to pop back out, so I had to gingerly shave off some here and there to get them to fit just right. With those thin lights a little slip of the blade and it would have shown up big time. LOL
