Hey Alex, greetings from Germany! Heaven Shall Burn is a very important band in the german Metal scene. They formed in 1996 and their songs mostly care about animal rights and humanity. All band members are vegetarian and/or vegan, and the singer, Marcus, is a Doctor, and he paused the band to help fight Covid! Stay safe frens!
Apart from not being a doctor the singer didn't stop the band to help fight Covid, it's his regular job. They may be headliner at Wacken but every band member still pursues their regular job.
HSB Like a thousand suns hits close to home for me. I know it's about the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki but everytime I listen to it I can't help but think of the fire bombings of Tokyo and Kobe. My grandma was 5 years old and living in Tokyo during the fire bombings of ww2 and it really makes me sad just remembering what she and my great grandparents had to go through during that time. She told me they were living on eating crickets
I saw Heaven shall burn live at a Festival years ago. They started their Set with this Song (introduced with the Same Intro). Right with Start of the Song, Not only hell Broke Loose in the crowd, also from the Sky. Heavy Rain, Thunder, Lightning. Every Time i Hear this Song with the Intro, i remember that and really get goosebumps.

They pretty much are THE flagship when it comes to metal here in Germany these days - their last album even charted #1 in german billboard charts, which is pretty uncommon for that kind of music. They have a healthy back-catalogue and their vocals often are about resistance, oppression and animal rights. They absolutely despise and condemn fascist and racist behavior and encourage their fanbase to be politically active and make their voices be heard. Check out "The Weapon They Fear" off the "Antigone" - record. It's about chilean singer Victor Jara, who was murdered by Pinochets followers in the 70s. Or "Of truth and sacrifice" in whole, which is their latest album.
Has anybody already mentioned that the lyrics are basically about war? Which war doesn't matter. But lines like: - "No one will break this frontline" - "We are the final resistance" - "A promise to the fallen - we'll make them feel our pain" - "A promise to the fellons - you'll never rise, again" Indicate into this direction. Heaven Shall Burn is just love. All of them are so much down to earth. They also care a lot of environmental protection.. support sea shepherd and so on.

Saw HSB live with As I Lay Dying back in 2011 in Germany and was able to get backstage (because As I Lay Dying drummer was the boyfriend of my co workers daughter) they were all so humble and nice! And then they went on stage and were some different guy's! Great great Band's!
