quick correction for those who aren't from this area, the Angeles national forest, though it shares a name with Los Angeles, is not Los Angeles. it's close, very close. when you've grown up here it's easy to take for granted being able to hit the slopes in the morning then catch the sunset at the beach in the evening. solid video 🙏
as someone who is studying landscape architecture and also has photography background, i really really appreciate the images and the subject of this video.
Its no joke, friends and i love driving up there for the tunnels and relative proximity… but quick elevation gains in short distances, absolutely no cell signal except small pockets round residential… unpredictable weather cause of all the systems that go over the steep mountains and valleys… be prepared!
You are so brave to bring the mamiya out in the snow and to change lenses and load film lmao..I could not. Great images. Love being inspired once you get your foot out the door.
I just feel pretty lucky to live in a world where I can take photos in America of the east coast one day and watch Willem take photos of the west coast the next
Meanwhile in Minnesota we are getting no snow. Great photos you captured! What film stocks did you use? I've found that Ektar and Gold are really great winter / snow stocks to shoot. I have a video where I compared 30 different film stocks in the winter / snow.
Toffe video, Willem. Je hebt wel een hele Nederlandse naam vriend. I hope you understand what I just wrote. I really like your work, man. Groeten uit Nederland, (Noord-Brabant tegen België aan. Antoine.
This video got me to go out and take photos for the first time all winter
I don’t know anything about photography but I really enjoy this channel. I like your thought process and seeing how it all ties together. Keep it up!
Absolutely incredible photos wow
1:48 love the beat on the video!!
Really beautiful compositions 🙏 thank you for sharing
What inspires me is how you capture the sense of place around everywhere that you've lived since you started making these videos.✌

Just don't go hiking in Mt. Baldy there's already been a recent death and stranded hikers because people have been ill prepared.
Was it their lack of hair? *gets coat*
This might be the most legitimately insightful comment I’ve seen in a really long time as a former angelino

Mooie vreemde beelden van LA , zoals je nooit ziet. Soms zou je denken dat je in Zwitserland bent.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Glad you felt rejuvenated :) Nice video :)
Good video reminder to just always cary a film camera.
You need to get on the Smoking Tire podcast. Matt has talked about shooting 35mm film before. Film and Cars would make a great podcast.

Happy Birthday 🎉😊
Happy birthday!!

I'm just happy that Jon Snow is still alive...
I always find id funny when creators say "hope you can hear me over the noise" or "sorry for the construction noise" and it's barely noticeable 😅
Toffe video, Willem.

Top!!! ❤
In weather like this, do you keep UV filters on your lenses or recommend them at all generally for this rig?
i love this channel but 15 minutes?! its takes me 15 minutes to get on the freeway on a good day
Silly request? Could you explain how you meter with your speedlite flash?
15 minutes from La Canada maybe lol. Very lovely nonetheless ❤
Do you just sling around your Mamiya if you’re going on a hike or do you do something else?
wanna see your new photobooks collection
Ooh that new tote bag!
Do they even sell wet weather gear in LA
How does the Mamiya hold up in light to medium weather?
Yoooo Jake!
Looks like you saw more snow than I've seen in NYC the last 3 years lmao.
