Bay is a genius. He knows exactly who his fans are and who he makes movies for and he is damn good at what he does. The average IQ in the US is about 100. That is who he makes movies for. So if one turns their brain off and just enjoy the Flashy lights and listen to the boom booms of the EXPLOSIONS. You will have a good time. Just stop thinking about it.

Nice one Tommy. For me, this one is (by far) the film with the biggest gulf between quality of film and quality of 3D. Like you say, the 3D is absolutely sensational. And it could have been even better with less of the shaky-cam, swirly-cam, and quickfire editing. The way it was put together, the whole movie felt to me like a two and a half hour trailer. Horrible pacing, tedious action, annoying characters. I could go on..! And the most demented use of variable aspect ratio I've ever seen. In summary, I *hate* this movie! But the 3D, just incredible...

Wow! oh yes, I forgot about the shaky-cam, swirly-cam, and quickfire editing. Most annoying. I really wanted to get vested in the characters. I thought the young lass would have had an interesting plot line. But it went nowhere. Thanks for tuning in Jonathan. Always great to hear from you. Cheers.

Hey ok... So I actually am very disappointed in this story yest it is stunning visually and I do think there are some great moments however it just felt like a massive let down compared to previous Transformers movies. But the 3D is Phenomenal. Such great 3D even trump's the previous title in it's 3D presentation so I absolutely defend age of extinction 3D but for some reason the 3D in the last knight just somehow overshadows age of extinction. I completely agree with reference quality. Such a wonderful review. It's not in 3D but bumblebee is the best transformers movie ever directed by someone else. 100% reccomend

TLK is really just a spectacle. Its all over the place, but I see it more as something where Michael Bay can just cut loose and do everything he wanted to that he didn’t in his other films. I’ll absolutely be buying this one in 3D as Bay showed it himselt that this movie really was made for IMAX 3D.

Went to see this at a theater and couldn't wait for the movie to end. It just dragged on with its pointless action. Still want to re-watch it at home, just for the 3D effects. Just have to find the courage to endure this mess of a movie again. Thanks for the review!

I'm convinced I'm the only person that absolutely loves this movie! Saw it in 3D three times and even in IMAX 3D, best IMAX experience I've ever had, glad you thought the 3D was great, Tommy I have an extra Transformers: Dark of the Moon 3D copy I could send you for review if you'd like, it's the 3rd entry in the series and the first one to film in 3D

Thank you for the offer, Fernie. Let me check with my son first as I think we have a copy of Dark of the Moon 3D coming already.

I enjoyed all the Transformers movies. But then I'm pretty simple and am easily dazzled. The parts I liked on this one I liked well enough to ignore its defects. I agree with the story issues, had I started watching this 45 minutes in I'd have been unaware I missed anything.

I just happened to rewatch this over the weekend. While it is the weakest entry in the franchise overall, the 3D is absolutely stellar, especially the underwater scenes and the CGI scenes on Cybertron. Some of the best live-action pop-out 3D in my opinion. From beginning to end, theres "Top 10 list"-caliber 3D on display here for sure.

Hi Tommy, thanks for reviewing this! I’ve got it on my shelf but haven’t seen it. May have to get to it sooner given the reference quality 3D.
Do you think it would help the story experience to watch it in a different language and kind of guess what’s going on or make up your own story as it plays?

I happen to love this movie! It's funny and it brings the previous Transformer movies to a perfect head! I hope Michael Bay does make the next one but it won't make any difference because Paramount has quit releasing 3D Blu-rays. Bumblebee was also an excellent movie not directed by Michael Bay by the way and had outstanding 3D at the theater and then Paramount decided to screw over the 3D loving fans in the world by not releasing any more 3D Blu-rays. It seems kind of strange that Paramount wouldn't want to make the profit from a movie that's already in 3D and all they have to do is transfer it to the disk! Anyway keep up the great work Tommy Boy 3D and I hope you pick up a lot more really good 3D movies because I so enjoy your reviews!

Thanks Lowell. And thanks for the comments. "Dark of the Moon" on the way. I was a big Apollo fan, so I think I'm going to really like it.

Was kinda opposite here, never found any cinema that showed bumblebee in 3D and yet our cable shows it in 3D and it looks outstanding though I’d still want a Blu ray somehow one day

I have a 3d projector but I must admit I've been slightly underwhelmed with some of my experiences. It's something I hardly use as sometimes its not very clear, it's quite flat and more like a pop up book as opposed to a 3d experience. One of the things I can recommend though is an oculus quest 2 VR headset. This is where I've had some more realistic 3d experiences. There are 360 videos on youtube that are quite immersive. We are stars narrated by Andy Serkis is one of the best experiences I've had being transported through the universe, it is very 3 dimensional and you have the ability to look around up and down.
You also have a virtual cinema where you can watch 3d movies as well as 2d. You can look around and change your seats, it's another fantastic 3d experience, had I known about this before I bought my projector I would have saved a lot of money as virtual cinemas are quite realistic.
Of course the games where you can interact with your surroundings are super fun, it's like you are in a different world. This is true 3d and if you ever get a chance to get one give it a go!

@@TommyBoy3D So I found out that I've been using my projector wrong, the 3D had infact been inverted. The 3d on the projector is much better now and in some ways I prefer it to the VR headset. Will keep on experementing with both to see what works best.

Agreed! The movie itself feels like its on fast foward! It never stops to take a break. So much going on. The 3d is amazing tho! Jaw dropping. Definatley reference quality.

This is easily the best 3D movie ever made. Watched this in a true IMAX theatre in 3D, and it is truly one of the most overwhelming spectacles I’ve ever seen, in a good way. Relentless assault to the senses, hyper-masculinity and testosterone in every scene, epic battles and juvenile humour. Bay at his best if you ask me. In cinema I did not notice the switching aspect-ratios, maybe because I saw it in real IMAX, and this was shot almost entirely in IMAX 3-D cameras? Did notice it watching it at home though. Also have to say the score for this movie by Steve Jablonsky is one of my favorite scores ever. So epic and grand and emotional. I wish they didn’t cut the runtime since this was supposed to be about 3hr. Would have been more cohesive.

Hi Tommy - I only recently bought this in 3d - I’ve replaced my pull down screen with a fixed frame screen and, yes, very annoying when these aspect ratios change as my black frame obviously does not change shape. 3D was excellent but the film was a bit tiring as the action never stopped - Shakespeare always gave us a respite in his plays, so look and learn Mr. Bay. The later Transformers film ‘Bumblebee’ was a lot slower paced and very funny in places, with a good story line, but does not follow on from ‘Last Knight’ - I can only think that Bay got fired or tired of Transformers- I know ‘Bumblebee’ was in the cinemas in 3D but I have been unable to track down a 3D Blu Ray of it, which is a shame.

It’s funny because this movie in 2D is just bad. The 3D version just is a great experience and I have a different level of respect for it. You just keep waiting for that wow moment and they just keep coming.
