- PeopleWatching is a show from Subnormality that was canceled after just two seasons. The show stands out to me as a piece of art that I continually come back to. Hopefully this video will instill a love of PeopleWatching in you as well.

I have watched this show so many times, for so long and only now have I heard someone not only talk about it but give it the respect that it deserves. Nearly every episode has something I can relate to and learn about, especially episodes 3 and 7 of season 2 for me.
There are so many things that hit you hard can you can take away from
Dude, I rewatched this entire series recently! I rarely rewatch videos like this, but People Watching was the best thing ever on the Cracked channel (saying a lot since I binged practically everything they ever did and continue to do).
In particular, the episode about writing and rewriting emails to a teacher who inspired you just hit me hard, and the pilot is still one of the best in the batch. I usually tended to like the ones that focused on one or two characters most, but that first episode was just that impressive in its formatting, given its eventual focus on two individuals.
I need to rewatch these again… Needless to say, I very much appreciated your discussion of these episodes. Thanks for devoting the time!
Just a small addition to this: even for those who haven’t experienced similar issues to these characters (I can’t say I’ve had most of them), there’s something truly incredible about how they impart those experiences to the audience. There’s an episode that takes place mostly between two brothers who have become adults and remained in a very supporting relationship. Their conversation throughout the episode goes across what appears to be a long stretch of time, and in the end, it’s revealed that one of the two had previously died but remains a consistent source of support. It’s not a series that wallows in sadness, though much of it is colored by depression, anxiety and loneliness. The takeaways are often hopeful or somehow find the silver lining in a bad situation, though the writers weren’t afraid to leave you with none of that in some episodes. A lot of this series is about shared experiences, and even if you haven’t had them (my brother is alive and well), you’ll find a source of connection with them that you may not have even thought possible.
These are both wonderful comments. Thank you
I really wish more people would have watched this show, it’s spectacular. ‘Talking with my Brother’ and ‘20s’ still hits me hard to this day.
I instantly knew the twist of, "talking with my brother." Still cried.
I for once finally found someone who appreciate this show and wrote and published something about this show 😭
Thank you for your attention on this because how underated this show is and how so many people put this show off because it's animated
Thank you once again!
i hadn't expected to run across someone talking about this show -- i remember watching it when it came out and remember really loving it, and even now the dating with depression episode in particular still stays with me for how it made me feel seen. thank you for making me think about it again, genuinely. peoplewatching was a really special show and it had some amazing insights, and it's cool to someone talking about that.
I'm glad to know that the show had a similar impact on you
Jesus man, way to gut punch me at the end there, crying happy tears and all.. I love PeopleWatching, the Depression episode I understand a bit too well.. Thanks for this review. Reminded me of a few things I needed to hear.
Very rarely I'll make vide for myself with things I need to hear. This was one of those times. Im glad that others can connect to it and find meaning in it
I guess I'll be the one to break the mold and say I haven't seen this before, looks pretty interesting though. Does that mean I'm not a hipster? Maybe, but I also just don't watch shows. Noice video.
You have transcended beyond hipster.
Whoa I can’t believe you made a video about this! I watched these as they came out and it had a big impact on me
ahhh you're my new fave channel! I discovered you thanks to your Prince of Egypt video, and then ended up here, watching PeopleWatching thanks to this vid, and found myself absolutely loving it! Keep the good quality up!
This may come across as odd. But thank you, thank you for not only discovering the channel through non Arcane content, but for continuing to enjoy what I put out regardless of topic. I really appreciate it.
AND I'm glad you were able to find out about PeopleWatching through this video
i absolutely love this series. There’s just something so human about it. i wish there was more!
I love this show, i watched it as a teen and it probobly greatly shaped me both for the good and the bad
Great vid - the webcomic this show is based on (Subnormailty) is one of my all time favorites. Starts off slow but some of the strips (mostly one-offs) will rip your guts out
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who rewatches People Watching religiously. God what an actual blessing to in 2022 (even when UA-cams algorithm has been screwed the past few years) be able to stumble upon a UA-cam channel treasure trove full of niche feelings and opinions that align with your own ✨ I’m so happy that I’m alive at the right time in the right place to relate to your video and the people in this comment section 😊
✨🧠 ✨
Im glad I could be of service
God yes, I miss this era of Cracked
I watch this every few years. It conveys emotions I forget sometimes.
4:25 Geez, thats PAINFUL
Great explanation of a great show, time for a rewatch
I did not expect what I got from this video.
Well I hope it was at least enjoyable
Just...
Thank you.
How refreshing it's been finding your channel.
The first episode of people watching that I saw was the secular confessional and i think it was my favorite.
Wrong! So glad I found that show when I did. Such outstanding writing.
It really is something special
@@AFlyingWalrus I go back to once every 3 or 4 months or so.
This is the first time I've seen or read a "best _____ you've never seen", and I've actually seen it! Pretty chuffed with myself
Huh... I'll look it up
Hope you enjoy it
I REMEMBER THIS!
I'm glad I could make you remember it lol
Yes, this was such a good show!
It was something so unique, which was amazing being published on a buzzfeed clone channel lol
I subscribed bc you made a video on this show
This video and people watching make me feel so attacked. But in a good way. Like a shell is peeling away. Like the more excuses I lose for my bullshit. The better I get.
I LOVE THIS SHOW YES
Jokes on you I heard about it, anyway thanks for vid.
Hey can't win them all. Glad you enjoyed
@@AFlyingWalrus sure I did :) if you haven’t made this video I wouldn’t be reminded of really good piece of animation.
