If she was really brave she'd of try to pull this shit at Avengers Tower. I'll bet if she put a bullet in Bruce Banner's arm shit would've got real in a hurry, lol! This woman is just like a bully, she thought she'd kill a little fish like Jessica Jones as an act of vengeance to make her feel better instead of going after the big fish who she knows she can't beat. Turns out Jessica was too much for her too, lol!
judging by her personality and look she is typical narrow minded conservative person who does not accept any changes, she must have hated comic books and fantasy before avengers appeared, (like Dursleys from Harry Potter) so when her mother died, it must have been enough reason to hate them.
I love this scene so much. Not even for the Avengers references, but just the way Jessica breaks down. It was heart wrenching to watch, and I think Krysten Ritter absolutely nailed it.
Joshwim Definitely one of the most vicious "reason you suck" speeches I've seen. Right up there with the one Tyrion gives Joffrey during the riot in King's Landing.
This is one of my favorite scenes because it ties in the MCU with X-men mythology. Yeah, they don't say the word mutant, they play it as the politically correct "gifted" (Xavier's gifted youngsters type of thing) and then degrade the word. And Jessica's statement that she lost her parents in an accident and she doesn't go after every shitty driver...perfect opposition to being a racist dick. Don't take your miserable shit out on other people who have done nothing to you.
This is one of my favorite fight scenes just because of what Jessica says in this scene. Too many times do people (fictional or real) vent their BS on other people they think are to blame, when they should deal with their feelings like normal human beings who don't want to hurt others to feel better
I know im late to the game when it comes to the marvel shows, but did yall see the camera guy in the shadows? Its at the 4:08 mark. Its kinda hard to see in this clip though.

I love the references to the MCU. This scene was so cool for me. Jones hit the right ratio I think. I don't need to see the Avengers appear on the Netflix shows or anything but hearing them being acknowledged like this is a real treat. It'd be great if in future we could see a trail of webs dangling down the side of a row of skyscrapers or something. I say keep the creative references going!
I don't think a major crossover with the Avengers or something would be needed. However, there are some characters that I'd like to see mentioned, cameoed or perhaps even meet. Seriously realistic reaction to the Avengers and super humans in general. I love how the shows show the side of the Marvel Universe we don't see in the movies... Well, except for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Jessica should be in Avengers. Defenders is too small. I could see her at her office and Tony being there recruiting her and shes like "who the fuck are you?"
Well, she was an Avenger in the comics for a short while, or might've been a New Avenger? Luke Cage was the leader and Jess tagged along for a while. Even went by "Power Woman" for a short bit.
@@MahouHomo I would hope that she ends up in a better place than she did in the comics. She was under Kilgrave's thrall for months on end, and by the time she was sent to assassinate the Avengers at their mansion, nobody had even noticed she was gone.
Only time we hear the word mutant is when spidey explains how he got by a radioactive mutant spider and iron man will be like da fuq so we all get bitten by Spider-mans and climb up walls and jessica jones says seems legit.
Best reference to the movies to date. Loved how it was actually a plot point in the episode too. Such a cool moment when I first saw this. Really hope we get to see the Defenders in Avengers 4
Give him credit. He protected his wife as best he could until it was over. THEN he said "I want a divorce." I guess he did not want to be linked to a woman like that. Smart move.
Such an under-rated series and my favorite comic book spin-off. Finally a subtle, adult take on how a 'gifted' exists parallel to the celebrity's ones.
For a character that can go from being shot in the arm to trashing the Eastman apartment, that's pretty intense. How does one live from something like this??
When I listen to this lady with a gun, all I can think of is what Rocket told Drax and what Daredevil told Punisher, "Boo hoo, everyone has dead people in their lives. It doesn't mean you have to do this." This lady should open her eyes. Aliens flew down from that portal and started shooting everyone. A bunch of people in masks and superpowers to fight against the aliens and protect the people. And she blames the good guys for what happened? And just because Jessica Jones has superpowers doesn't mean she has anything to do with it. Same goes for that lady that confronted Iron Man in the Civil War. Her son dies and she blames the Avengers. Sure Tony may have created Ultron, but everything Ultron did was by his own hands, not Tony's. It does become hard when you realize you can't save everyone, but people should be thankful that the Avengers at least tried.
That's so right! I'm so sick and tired of those ungrateful civilians who blame the heroes every goddamn time when they are trying to save the world! Yes, collateral damage happens, but seriously, when you try to stop the alien invasion, or some crazy homicidal maniac, do you always have the exact plan how to avoid the property damage? Civilians better stop being jerks and embrace the heroes for who they are, or else next time some supervillain attacks, they would be pretty happy to have some superhero save their sorry asses from death!
I know that neither Jessica nor the Avengers are at fault. But I wouldn't fight a superhuman for all the tea in China, there's stupid and there's just plain ought to have known better.
Jessica Jones isn't bullet proof but Luke Cage is. It stinks for Jessica because she has to work harder in combat where as Luke can attack in a more relaxed manner.
I was checking this show out on Disney+, which blows my mind that its on there because of how graphic it is, and saw a camera guy in this scene. In this video, he’s on at he 4:08 mark in the shadows filming Jessica. Its kinda hard to make out in this clip though. If not for that oops moment, a great scene.
One of the things I love about the Netflix shows is that they do a great job at the ground level average Joe in the MCU. Shows like this help hilight why the Sokovia Accords became a thing.
Boy I wish I could see this show but unfortunately have neither Netflix nor a Blu-Ray player to watch it. I am so glad Jessica Jones reacted this way to this ungrateful couple because people need to stop blaming others for their problems and take responsibility. Captain America: Civil War pissed me off so much because all of these heroes were being blamed by humanity for the chaos and destruction that resulted from them trying to help humanity. Even Tony Stark became wracked with guilt and actually started to side with the government's position on The Avengers which ultimately led to the division and ensuing battle between his team and Captain America's team. The unfortunate truth is no matter what you do and how much you do there will always be collateral damage. The Avengers had absolutely nothing to apologize for and neither did Jessica Jones.
Livingston Hampton well stark felt guilty as he made ultron. The events of age of ultron are entirely on his shoulders alone, makes perfect sense as to why he personally feels guilty
The series came out on 2015 so as long as you have internet access, you can easily watch them online (that's what I did) Just Google "Jessica Jones watch online" and many pages will appear and have all 13 episodes
yeah It wasn't the avengers fault and it wasn't poor sweet Bucky fault also evil cruel jerk hypocrite thunderbolt Ross, and that jerk ungrateful evil jerk cruel Unforgivable Zemo fault . Avengers are Heroes
I get anger and pain make people do irrational things but this woman is so hard to sympathize with, like that`s just narcissistic as all hell to call someone who can crush you in their hands a "freak". also they stopped aliens. fucking christ lady. this scene made the show the best of the Defenders universe.
I don't think many of the public actually know about Loki or the Chitauri but know the Avengers because they would be the ones people reported on and talked about. Also, she was blaming the avengers because they were seen as heroes by everybody and beloved and She feels betrayed and resentful to them because they weren't there to save her mother. She probably doesn't know about the full story, she probably saw her mother get murdered and then saw all the press about the Avengers saving the city.
I'm surprised no one didn't see the camera man at 4:08. I'm watching the show on the TV and I clearly see the camera guy. 😂 Turn on your brightness and contrast. You'll see him.
People like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Spider-man I call them Accidentals if they're like Captain America I called them Experimentals. Mutants, Inhumans, and Mystics (like doctor strange and iron fist) are gifted
The Netflix Marvel shows showed us the civilians of the MCU. They are aware of the avengers' existence but of course don’t bring them up every second because they have their own problems in life
I wish the writers would do this more in comics, especially in the X Men. I mean, going after someone just for having super powers is going to end bad and you will be called out on it. Why can't the writers point that out the next time some idiot decides to attack a mutant right after they save their lives?
Ok technically that incident was all Loki. The avengers ain’t got nothing to do with that, and neither does Jessica. So I don’t know why this lady is even blaming Jessica for something she didn’t even do
she would be kneeling before a tyrannical Nordic God right now if it wasn't for the Avengers, even if she lost people its better than the alternative, Earth being conquered
This good guide line for Mutants. They always an argument why mutants gets the hate and Avengers or mutates get the kisses and the hugs, but there is some stories where the the public turn against the Avengers because they were too strong for their good did serious damage and lives lost.
Pretty much people who blame other people just because of similar circumstances like race, sex, background, religion... Jessica Jones= pretty much everyones thoughts on those people
Even on my first viewing, i love how this lady was there during the Chitauri invasion and lost people she knew and love. Shows the realism of what happened during the Battle of New York and how people actually died there. I try telling people its still part of the MCU's universe but no one listens to me.
Definitely understandable and realistic, the point of view and grief of the lady. But she was wrong on blaming the Avengers instead of Loki and the aliens and lashing out on Jessica.
@@JayArh41 exactly if the Avengers weren't there she would now be living in a world where she needs to kneel before Loki, The Avengers saving the day was the best option

@@DedricSilva It was but then Kevin Feige decided not to keep the continuity so any errors made in the Tv show would not affect his movies. The solution now would be that tv showrunners would need to report to Feige and ask for permission to do things, to which they obviously rejected to no one's surprise hence the marvel tv universe was not affected by the snap.
@@kaininjathundermmandopoke5167 I know it is. I was talking about the people who refuses to accept as part of the same universe as the MCU because of Feige not working on it when Disney already said it's part of the MCU.
This is actually a major problem in the marvel universe as a whole. Supervillain blows up a bus and everyone blames the heroes. It’s a really weak narrative device that never works and I don’t understand why they always use it.
Ok. I understand that you're maybe blinded by your need to get rid of these guys, but after seeing what they can do you're going after them with a fucking gun? Also, how old exactly are you? The battle of NY was only 3 years ago! How could this had been a childhood trauma? And you're what...? 30something?

Seriously realistic reaction to the Avengers and super humans in general. I love how the shows show the side of the Marvel Universe we don't see in the movies... Well, except for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
That movie was a masterpiece
Jessica should be in Avengers. Defenders is too small. I could see her at her office and Tony being there recruiting her and shes like "who the fuck are you?"
I can imagine Tony drinking her cheap whisky and making a face xD
The Flying Lion I'm very sure she'd know who he is.
I can imagine her being like "screw you!"
I love how they try so hard not to use the word mutant in these Marvel productions.
But Jessica is indeed "gifted" since she is not a mutant or inhuman in the comics. Same with Luke and Kilgrave
+Christopher Scotts Don't forget Spiderman ;)
Only time we hear the word mutant is when spidey explains how he got by a radioactive mutant spider and iron man will be like da fuq so we all get bitten by Spider-mans and climb up walls and jessica jones says seems legit.
I think you're only a mutant when you were born with your powers. Gifted have got their powers from else.
in the MCU they're called enhanced
Best reference to the movies to date. Loved how it was actually a plot point in the episode too. Such a cool moment when I first saw this.

THIS SCENE IS SO INTENSE JESSICA JONES IS STRONG .
Jessica should've had a talk with wanda at the end of wandavision and call her out
Or zemo calling him out.
Does everyone forget that without the avengers New York would either invaded by aliens or nuked by the government? Yeah, sure your mom would survive .
Olivia Mac Arthur its like when a cop shoots an armed robber.
Everyone feels bad for the armed robber.
Give him credit. He protected his wife as best he could until it was over. THEN he said "I want a divorce." I guess he did not want to be linked to a woman like that. Smart move.
He had no idea what was going on, but he reacted as he should, I liked him
Such an under-rated series and my favorite comic book spin-off.
DarkPaladin24 eh tony kinda deserved that one though tbh, theres plenty of good analogys I cant think of right now
That's so right!
@@mikhailshleykov5363 Me too. Evil ungrateful jerk bitchs
@@mikhailshleykov5363 leave the the avengers are heroes
It's an eerie parallel to what's happening with the pandemic.
I know that neither Jessica nor the Avengers are at fault. But I wouldn't fight a superhuman for all the tea in China, there's stupid and there's just plain ought to have known better.
Jessica Jones isn't bullet proof but Luke Cage is. It stinks for Jessica because she has to work harder in combat where as Luke can attack in a more relaxed manner.
well, it does seem like she's bullet resistant. it didn't damage her that much, or the woman just can't aim for shit
unli distraction She was testing Jessica's statement. She aimed so that the bullet grazed her to find out whether or not she was really bulletproof.
it's funny when the woman called her on her bluffs

3:09..."I don't work my shit out on other people.....just furniture and radiators"
I was checking this show out on Disney+, which blows my mind that its on there because of how graphic it is, and saw a camera guy in this scene. In this video, he’s on at he 4:08 mark in the shadows filming Jessica. Its kinda hard to make out in this clip though. If not for that oops moment, a great scene.
is he in this clip? I can't see it, in the Disney+ I saw it but not here
One of the things I love about the Netflix shows is that they do a great job at the ground level average Joe in the MCU. Shows like this help hilight why the Sokovia Accords became a thing.
yeah,I love her too much
Can't wait to hear her respond to stick saying "You think the four of you can save New York, you can't even save yourselves."
The series came out on 2015 so as long as you have internet access, you can easily watch them online (that's what I did)
Just Google "Jessica Jones watch online" and many pages will appear and have all 13 episodes
But its not just his fault. Remember, it was scarlet witch who used her powers to get inside his head and use fear to drive him to create Ultron.
Yeah, cruel people.
yeah It wasn't the avengers fault and it wasn't poor sweet Bucky fault also evil cruel jerk hypocrite thunderbolt Ross, and that jerk ungrateful evil jerk cruel Unforgivable Zemo fault .
Avengers are Heroes
I get anger and pain make people do irrational things but this woman is so hard to sympathize with, like that`s just narcissistic as all hell to call someone who can crush you in their hands a "freak".
also they stopped aliens. fucking christ lady. this scene made the show the best of the Defenders universe.
why won't she blame Chitauri, or Loki?? this one time it was completely not fault of any of the Avengers??
Well Hulk Did bounce around on buildings, which destroys floors, and creates unstable infrastructure.
She probably thought they were "gifted" also. She never seemed that bright to begin with.
Loc K Wasn't it Loki's fault for being somewhere he wasn't supposed to be? The Avengers do kind of create their own problems, in a way...
Loc K I meant Thor's* fault. My bad.
I think Jessica had every right to get mad like that. The Chitauri caused the incident, not the Avengers.
I want to Jessica Jones and Nick fury against evil jerk unforgivable hypocrite Thunderbolt Ross and evil unforgivable cruel jerk zemo

Best scene in the show
I'm surprised no one didn't see the camera man at 4:08.
No, Mutants are those born with abilities in the MU and "Mutates" are those who get given them through means such as experiments
poor jessoca Jones and captain America, and poor sweet bucky
No they call Mutates not Mutants. Mutants are born with their abilities.
The Netflix Marvel shows showed us the civilians of the MCU. They are aware of the avengers' existence but of course don’t bring them up every second because they have their own problems in life
Happy 5th Birthday Jessica Jones, the MCU television show 🎂🥃.
So I don’t know why this lady is even blaming Jessica for something she didn’t even do
Yeah.
Probably that lady hates people who have superpowers.
she would be kneeling before a tyrannical Nordic God right now if it wasn't for the Avengers, even if she lost people its better than the alternative, Earth being conquered
I love you so much Jessica Jones
Idk why I keep watching this but I feel like it sums up Jessica Jones in a nutshell
I 100% agree with you
Definitely understandable and realistic, the point of view and grief of the lady. But she was wrong on blaming the Avengers instead of Loki and the aliens and lashing out on Jessica.
@@JayArh41 exactly if the Avengers weren't there she would now be living in a world where she needs to kneel before Loki, The Avengers saving the day was the best option

Bruh she connects the existence of the Xmen and the avengers in this single scene. The big green guy is the hulk and there Is a show called Gifted on hulu
Go after the big green guy or the flag waver! I so wish she would've added "or the douche in the armor" lol! I love that these are connected but very vaguely! They don't beat you over the head with it & you've never seen a single MCU film you could easily follow along & love these Netflix shows!

What a powerful scene 👏
I love how it reveals the realism of the Chitauri Invasion where civilians actually died during the attack and how it affected them. Yet people keep saying its not part of the MCU's universe.
@@DedricSilva it is part of the MCU universe.
