That's how I have been feeling. Although, i wouldn't mind just having both haha! Of course I am happy to have at least gotten a "free" replacement though.
I bought the same crane and i use it to collect my firewood. I use a choker chain to pull the logs out then use log tongs once i saw them up into stove length. My top bearing for the 360 swing came apart and was wondering if you ever had that happen. Did not know if i should start pulling logs out with my truck then just use the crane to load them.
Sorry to hear your last crane was stolen. I know the feeling well. For the money I think this little crane is the cat’s meow for what it does. I wish this company offered a outrigger type hitch receiver mount with drill powered levelling jacks and that would be the bomb. Guess I’ll have to customise something. Still looking as there are some good ideas out here. Good luck and I’d diffidently weld that base.
They may not be able to get the ɓottom half but the top half can still fly away I wish somebody would send me a setup like that. I was down with a leg wound for 5 days and 2 tweekers robbed my shop of a hundred years worth of tools and hot rod parts my grandfather, dad, mine and my son. With no insurance everything gone in a flash you're still young if you have much stuff i would get some sort of insurance insurance
Would it be worth mounting that bottom plate to a 6-8 inch block, and then mounting the block to the trailer joists? Seems like the extra height would be really helpful.
Maybe. Some more height would be nice, and seriously not a bad bad suggestion, but I think for most things, it will work OK. That said, I may want to think about your suggestion someday when I have more time or money to throw something under there. Thanks for the suggestion dude!
That winch looks suspiciously like my HF 2500 atv winch i mounted on my trailer crane and shop crane 😁 Been making vids of logging with it as well. i like your new crane better than my HF one (which is dang heavy to move around- mine is not perm mounted) the orange one looks lighter. You inspired me to mount a battery box to my trailer! Enjoy your vids, keep em coming 👍
@@TrinidadBadMon Uh... I would probably say above average. All the welds on mine look consistent with good penetration (paint can be deceiving though) Its designed well. The winch is a standard Chinese 2500lb electric winch. I guess maybe the best way to put it is that in order to get better you'd have to spend a lot more? I can't really find a flaw in it. The fact that they include two big bearings for the swivel function is somewhat indicative of the kind of product it is to me. Its definitely better than the old Harbor Freight one I had.
Straight forward & honest video. Thanks
Glad you got some good Karma after the first crane got stolen!

Nice video. I’d also put a tack weld on the nuts for the winch.

You can weld your own jack mounts onto that and use it just like the old one.
Exactly what I’m thinking of doing.

Thinking of getting one of these to load 10ft logs
That was one idea I had for mine.

you could get or make your self a long hook rod this way your not standing right next to your load in case something goes wrong!

simple great video cheers mate
winch burn out in time as their meant for draging not lifting states on instructions not to lift with them
I got the 2000 lb version, I need it to pull marble sculptures (rocks) up to 1400 lbs on and off my trailer. How is it holding up?
So far it’s holding up great. Definitely a good buy i think.
@@DereksWorkshopAndProjects Glad to hear that, thanks.

I'd bet they are pumped out of the same factory. I have a HF Badland 2500lb winch as well haha. They look close!
Where did you buy that Crain I need one
Click on the links in the description
How match this price
I'd held the nuts on to the mount so it can't be stolen.
Me la pueden mandar donde la encuentro
how's it working still?
I haven’t had much use for it in the last month or so but the last time I used it, it was working great.
@@DereksWorkshopAndProjects how would you rate the build quality
