hey asa! i noticed you caught a ‘black carp’. just to inform you, this is actually called a smallmouth buffalo! the way you can tell is that carp have whiskers, and buffalo do not! also, buffalo is a delicious fish to eat, especially when they get big like that! you can make ribs out of them, because the rib bones are so thick. they are also great in steaks and deep fried nuggets. happy fishing!

I just found your channel about 2 months ago... my husband and I have been binge watching since then and really have enjoyed watching you grow since your beginning.... We are in our 50's and have just, in the last few years, started to become addicted to fishing and you've inspired us! We work opposite shifts and only get about 2 hours a day during the week to see each other so we sit with our dinner, pray together now, and watch you and "Me Anchient" videos! We've even subscribed to his channel and love watching him taste test the military food! Way better than cable television! We have a challenge for you! 48 hour - $20 "dollar store" challenge catch and cook! Get limit of 20 (dollar) items in 20 minutes and no other supplies. No poles, tents, things from home.. just 20 things from the dollar store (tax doesn't count) and find/ make your shelter, fire, cooking tools.. water, bedding, lures, poles, etc .. then forage, catch and cook!

Hey Asa, just wanted to let you know a little recipe my dad has for the greens add some white vinegar in with the greens as they’re cooking! Game changer for sure, that is if you like vinegar I’ve always enjoyed my dads greens and I cook them the same way now!

I took your advice, got two level up bracelets. Caught a big channel cat, did a fry with Zanarans fish fry. I did up sweet pickles. OMGosh, it was delicious, im so hooked. Im saving for your ACE spice. Thank you for all you do for us subscibers and your ancient. Be well.
That bass that you kept is a largemouth. A spotted bass usually has a rough patch on the tongue. Largemouth bass can have one as well, but not as often.
I remember the couple times me and my dad went fishing together before he passed , he wasn’t a talkative person but just sitting out there listening to nature catchin fish was the best watchin y’all brings back all them memories y’all are goated 🐐🐐

If you want to cook carp, you need to score the fish deep and close to each score, the deep fry it until its crispy. That way the small bones are crispy and wont bother you

Ace PLEASE come to San Diego the ocean fishing is crazy out here you would love it! I could even introduce you to my favorite octopus spot! I would even suggest lobster and crab fishing out here as well!! Oh and blue fin and yellow fin tuna is insane out here. If you are interested I can tell you THE boat to go on to catch monster tuna fish up to 900 lbs! And giant Humboldt squid fishing. If you are interested.

That huge fish is a Buffalo. I caught a 62lb buffalo at the Tawakoni spillway in texas
