For Story 1, I honestly think the term Reconstructive Surgeon should be a thing, it would allow doctor's who are in plastic surgery for reconstructive purposes to escape the disdain associated with the term Plastic Surgeon

Both my mom and I can relate to the mechanic story. We have one car between us and it had an overheating problem to the point where we had to blast the heater DURING A HEATWAVE just to keep the engine from basically melting. Turns out that at some point (either by a past mechanic or one of the tire shops we used to go to) the AC unit was disconnected from the rest of the car. Connecting wire missing and everything.
We only found out 5 YEARS LATER cause our current mechanic is a super nice guy that only charges what's absolutely necessary to make a decent profit (he was the owner, but was also one of those bosses that works just as hard as his employees). He reconnected the unit with a brand new wire and everything. That particular visit only cost $60 for the oil change we came in for and the AC fix was free.

As someone who has worked in the courtroom for 4 years the Lawyer stories are so true. They're specialized and do their job for SPECIFIC areas of the law. And the "bad" lawyer things...sometimes they do things that initially appear like they're the bad guy when really they're just doing their job and honestly would want to be helping anyone else other than the ones they are representing but have to cause the law says EVERYONE gets a fair hearing no matter who they are.

My mechanic is awesome. They actually check everything thoroughly whenever I bring my car in and don't charge when they can't find something, or for basic stuff like putting air in your tires (had to take my car to them to do it because no one could get the caps off). They're so good to me I've gotten my boyfriend to take his car to them whenever he's here (he's in the military and incredibly picky with his car). They got my business after my previous mechanic tried to charge me double, almost triple than them for the same set of tires on my last car. They cost less and do better work and don't talk down to me because I'm a woman.

The amount of lawyers I’ve worked with in the last 10yrs (personally and professionally), they’re mostly pretty decent people. Very stressed, but pretty normal. My real estate attorney saved me from a contract getting pulled and losing SO MUCH MONEY (the sellers wanted me to pay $10k at a time where they could pull the contract and have me lose it. Eventually, they did pull (which he warned me about). I was sad, but not $10k poorer-sad. Second attempt at buying a home went remarkably easier.

Story 5: Lawyers really do get the short end of the stick, even though they seem to generally self-regulate pretty damn well. If a lawyer messes up and screws over someone, there's very likely to either be another lawyer on the end of that, or someone who will go to another lawyer. Either way, another lawyer will jump at the opportunity to bring a case against a lawyer for malpractice or to get sanctions against them. The majority really do seem to take pride in their profession and want to keep it on the up and up.

Not sure if hated, though I think I possibly make some coworkers jealous. I'm also mostly forgotten until they need me. I run the print shop in a secondary school, all I have to do is make copies that teachers and admin request of me. It's all about time management, as some jobs can take forever, emergencies come up, have to deal with machines being down, things like that. I run my shop well and I'm good at adjusting to the aforementioned emergencies, so I have the potential of getting some downtime like janitors. I don't think I'm hated as much as I tend to get excluded, like if the office girls order in lunch, or if something is given to the faculty and staff (they gave everyone these lanyards with figurines, I never got one), or I'm told last. I usually shrug it off, it doesn't change the way I do my job, but yeah, I take notice. That being said, I like my job, so, I'll take the cons of my position.

I've had cops just... refuse to help before. Someone broke into my sister's car outside her home right before she was about to go to work, and we didn't know if they were still there. The cops decided it wasn't an emergency and refused to even come check. She had to wait for her bf to come home so that the two of them could check the car to make sure he wasn't waiting for her to get in. I had to talk her through that panic attack from three states away.
So no, the cops can and will just abandon you. They don't even legally have to stop active crimes, they can wait until it's over. And they exercise that right liberally, with famous cases of it involving school shootings. They waited outside the building while kids got shot and only stepped in after the shooter has been neutralized.

Autocorrect (I assume) flipped the script nicely here.
"Defund the police" is the popular phrase critical of forcing/allowing police to deal with societal problems they aren't trained or equipped to handle. It It promotes the use of *some* of the current police budget to have these issues handled by people who have those skills so the police can focus on their actual job description. A residential burglary/robbery would still be a funded police response.
"Defend the police" skews this to mean that the person who use it thinks the police are handling everything great until they respond to his call and make things worse.

Just thought I'd mention it, since it's pretty close to plastic surgery - when they said plastic surgery was actually a way for people to regain a sense of "normalcy" and it helps with mental health, recovery, and bringing those people back into living their lives, and decreasing suicide - it is exactly the same for those with gender dysphoria. They may not have been in an bad accident, but just like a burn patient didn't get to choose to get burned, trans people didn't get to choose what body they were born with or how they were raised or how people treat them. There are also those who were born intersex who may or may not have had parents who forced the child to undergo "corrective" surgery at birth and basically the parents forced their own will of whether they wanted a boy or girl onto the child. In that situation, doctors just follow the parents orders to "fix" the child, but when that child grows up and wants to amend that mistake they are treated even worse and doctors can refuse them just because "they don't think that's right" even though they had originally been born differently.
Trans people just want to have their feelings respected by others, to gain a feeling of normalcy, and most of the time that requires their feelings to be reflected through their bodies. Many people think that telling trans people that they should just love themselves for who they are is okay, but if you said that to a burn patient you can bet a lot of people are going to turn on you. Because in both situations, it's not that they can't love themselves but that what they already love about themselves isn't reflected in what they see or feel with their bodies. If a burn patient loved being a happy go lucky person, how are they supposed to do that when all people see are their scars and a "damaged person"? If a trans person wants to look like a strong and reliable man, how are they supposed to do that when all people see is a "delicate flower who just needs to bother putting on some make up in order to be happy about how she looks"? A good deal of the problem is not just that the individual wants to change themselves so they feel better, but rather that the world is unable to look past how that individual looks and accept what's underneath it as the truth rather than a "mistake".
