Hello Sonia and Tyler. You both are doing a great job caring for the boys. I love your calm, measured, logical, loving approach to parenting. Concerning Christmas and the writing of thank you cards: a discussion need tò be had about how life is, how there is always going be someone who has/get more. Sometimes it is perception, sometimes it is real. It is worth introducing the concept of contentment. It will serve them throughout their lives. Please teach them to be grateful for what they are given. Learning to write thank you cards is a start.
Love how thoughtful you are with this conversation and thinking about the children. You should start by saying that these gifts are coming from others, and there is no way to determine in advance who will get what. Also, have a conversation about sharing, and how to give / share when someone has less. Another conversation may be that perhaps some of the children may want to work towards changing behaviours (if needed) but at the end of the day, Christmas is not about gifts, and the celebration of Christmas is more than material items. Good luck with the conversation, and let us know how it goes. The boys are fortunate enough to recieve all year round, so it is not necessarily because it is Christmas that they need more things.
Hi Sonia & Tyler that's a very good idea for the boys to send both of you a thank you letter of appreciation. For taking them in and taking care of them.
I love your channel! Thanks for all of the time you spend doing these videos. This is off subject, but after seeing that you retired at 40, I was wondering if you do any fiduciary financial planning?
I’m sure it’s the younger ones that got the most the older ones should already understand life. Don’t hold back because some of the gifts especially games can be played by all. Good luck Christmas morning ❤️
Have a sit-down discussion/ test the water with the question of how they would feel if some of them got more than others. The discussion should be about sharing.
I know Andre is getting a lot of gifts....lol. Maybe when the boys see all of Andrés gifts, it will make them think and thus change their mentality and be more appreciative for everything....
First what is the culture in Jamaica around Christmas. For instance, in America the culture is around "giving... it is better to give than to receive" so that is the leading theme. So maybe this year focus on the culture in Jamaica and then everything else is a plus... I am in America and have always raised my son to not expect anything from anybody and to think of ways to give first. So he has always appreciated anything he received because his expectation was not to receive anything at all
Good afternoon, Tyler and Sonia. What I really do these days? just buy them some gift cards let them spend it on their own. That's my opinion. I and teach them to exchange gifts with each other
Tyler, as you said, "Let the cards fall where they may" i don't think you can ever please everyone. Mr Tyler i think your acts of kindness and service towards ( the boys) is a Christmas present in itself, and you're not a bad singer.
ALWAYS GODS BLESSINGS FAMILY
