Ya think!!! This is a big reason why I got into kayak fishing. I try to limit myself to 3 or 4 rods, one or two tackle boxes, and a zip lock bag with a selection of soft plastics. And most days I still feel like I brought too much!!
A cheap spin combo and a wacky rigged yum dinger has caught me so many bass. I have since bought alot of different lures and soft plastics and went a little crazy. My best ever purchase though was a kayak. It opens up alot of fishing spots you could never access. When it comes to finding fish I just look for spots that look fishy. A laydown, some rip rap, shale cliff bluffs, bridges, dock pilings or a creek mouth ect and try my luck. That's the fun of fishing to me. Learning what works and when and where to throw it.
Saying that bass fishing has been made too complex is just a euphemism for saying it's become too commercialized. Practically every month a new lure, a new reel, a new rod, a new technique or a new something is introduced that's said to be a game changer of some sort in the bass fishing world. If Bass were as smart as the marketing people selling what the various products that the fishing equipment manufacturers churn out, then we could possibly say that bass were complicated creatures. I've caught bass with bare hooks on an old reel and cheap Walmart monofilament line during the spawning season. I've watched a guy catch bass using a small rectangular piece of wood with two treble hooks tied on and fished as a top water lure. Bass aren't the smartest fish in the world but even more in line with the jist of this video is the fact that bass fishermen and women can be some of the most gullible fishing enthusiasts on planet earth.
I've gone back to basic. I've foolishly spent $100.00 of dollars on lures that didn't catch me squat. I covered tons of water and put the time in to learn how to fish these lures affectively and nothing. Now i just use a dropshot with a different leader length. In really hot or cold weather 10 to 12 inch leader. Then ill use a 12 inch leader with size 1 or size 16 baitholder hook. Ill use 16 to catch small bait fish. Ill tie 12 inch leader with hook to main line with a split shot alittle above where leader ties to main line. Or, ill measure 6 inches above where 12 inch leader with the hook tied to main line an extra 6 inches longer ill put a small bobber. For lures i use a crappie jig or crappie jig underspin. A 3/0 ewg super line hook with a 1/16 oz bullet weight. A kvd splash a wake bait, a small spinner or Berkeley choppo, and that's it. Soft plastics ill use a zero z to fluke a 5 inch finesse worm or grub worm or delta red crayfish. This is all ill use. Oh, an occasionally a jerkbait.
Yes that can definitely work but ffs can help u find more fish and catch more, and then some times a stick bait isn't the best option and could lead to less fish where as if u also maybe had a crankbait or a spinnerbait u could be catching the fish that are keying in on baitfish
@randolph2128 that's your dumb excuse "saying you're a lazy ass so-call fisherman and you can't lived without FFS"; i bet without FFS you feel like don't wanna fish for that day 🤣you're such a terrible liar; i can see straight through your dumb excuse
@@leepao6302 okay thats great then bc u can have a great time with a stick bait, im not denying that, but im not gonna judge the way u like to fish because it brings u joy being outside and taking in the scenery so u shouldn't judge others' versions of fun fishing bc they want to catch higher numbers of fish and ffs and different selection of baits can help them accomplish that just like a stick bait can help u accomplish ur version of fun while fishing
I needed that. I had a frustrating weekend fishing. And I fish from a kayak so it’s important to find a good spot, instead I just got a good workout 😂.
Just Watched a vid about the most expensive boat electronics at the open. Most elites said they wish they didn’t have to have 30-50 grand on their boats.
Great stuff Tyler, I caught four today from the bank at my local reservoir today, all were in the 1-2 lb. range. I was fishing a rocky point in about 5 feet of water. I'm a finesse guy and got two on a ned rig, one on a free rig (with z-man tube), and the other one on a neko rig (green pumpkin senko). That's about as simple as it can get, all on spinning rods.
Guys used to catch bass all day long with a cane pole and a nightcrawler, now bass fishing is a multimillion dollar a year industry of course its over complicated people make lots of money off that fact
Yes, way too complex. If it keeps going this way it won't be long before people call it scoping instead of fishing. I hate what bass fishing is turning into.
My name is Michael Becker and I’m the director of the Toledo Area Kayak Anglers League. We are a small kayak bass fishing league in the Toledo Ohio area. This year on April 7 we are holding a charity tournament for our local humane society. With all entry fees going to the charity, I am reaching out for charitable contributions for our prize package. Would you be willing to contribute to our cause? Thank you for your time
Yall try to feed these BS lures, lines, rods, reels, and on top of that electronics. I understand you guys do it to make money but do you really make money for yourself? A simple lure, rod, reel, and 10lbs line will work great.

You know I like to fish what's fun. Sounds like a plan. As I get older I like yo plan and catch them like I want.
Another great video sir! Keep them coming please!!

Well spoken 👏 👌
Like most things in life, fishing is as simple or complex as we want to make it. Thanks for all the tips.

Yes you guy do; nowadays people even doing that stupid livescope or front facing sonar; all you need a rod, reel, line and weightless stick bait
Dumbest comment I’ve read today. Nobody has said you need ffs to catch fish. It’s just a tool to make you more efficient.
Yes that can definitely work but ffs can help u find more fish and catch more, and then some times a stick bait isn't the best option and could lead to less fish where as if u also maybe had a crankbait or a spinnerbait u could be catching the fish that are keying in on baitfish

@@BLitZ_2944 i don't care about the number of fishes i can catch. i simply go outside to enjoy the scenery and peaceful time only.

When you complicate fishing, you take the fun out of it. My pappy always told me... KISS (Keep it simple s*)

I totally agree....when i struggle i tell myself..."throw what you know"And keep that Open mind!
Great video Tyler!! I'm into making fishing videos too, and I absolutely love what you're doing! Keep up the fantastic work! 🔥🔥🤝🤝

Good video buddy

Before I even watch the video I’ll answer your question, yes we have.
If you need $1500+ in electronic equipment to find fish, then you dont know how to fish...which is sad.
I just watched a video where the top Bassmaster tour anglers had electronics adding up to anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000.
Rediculous.
👍🏻
And by “we” I mean you.
