Just finished watching this interview.. what an amazing strong woman Abi is to open up so deeply on her tough times throughout her life… Godbless her ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Another brilliant guest Liam, I love these down to earth guests that have had a troublesome life but find such inner strength to rise above and manage turn their lives around. So powerful and very inspiring to watch. More of this please Liam x
So many similar experiences, found it helpful a little hearing how she processed things. Made certain things feel less heavy. I'm grateful for this interview
So, so raw and real. I’m a child protection manager. It’s not as uncommon as people like to believe. Perpetrators tend to be family members. Which keeps this abuse so hidden What a beautiful woman - telling such a harrowing story. Hopefully help others tell their story X
From one childhood SA survivor to another (anyone who's being/been SA'd over all!) it is not your fault whatsoever. It wasn't consensual, it wasn't Ok for him to do that to you, it is the perpetrators fault every single tiptoe to footstep of the way. The day I told my mother I had been SA'd by my teacher (from Year 5 to Year 6 in school), we were at her friend's house. The friend's daughter was in my class and had witnessed it several times. My mother shouted at me and slapped me full on in the mouth. She did sweet FA about it and invite the abuser to her birthday party! Yet when I went to the police age 25, and it went to court, she was soon playing the victim card and oh woes me. All I wanted was to be believed and to be told "This wasn't your fault"
Hey. I'm sorry you were put through. Utterly cruel and inhuman. Made worse that the one that was supposed to protect you DID NOT do her duty. Shame on her, let her suffer for weakness failing. NOT your fault babe.x
Having read many stories about abuse ..... mother's seem to back the abuser instead of their own child. I think I would want to slap my mother if I was you 😢
Liam, so much value from both you and guests - we are not alone in dealing with all of life's hard knocks, and worse. It helped me, for sure. Greetings from Spain.
Well done for opening up you're story of abuse so sorry this happened to you you are a beautiful lady very honest. But you have have helped so many people by telling you're story live, Because the factor that people need to take from you're story is THAT SECRETS KEEP YOU SICK. Love best wishes from fellow survivor of abuse. Xxx
Liam. Yesterday I watched your interview on the James English podcast. The way you described your Dad, man it was like you were describing my own father. I have to say, my Dad never did any of the wierd pervy stuff with me which your Dad did. But the narcissism, the personality, mate it was like you were describing my own father, seriously. I have a lot of respect for you off the back of watching that podcast with James. Obviously I've now just watched this podcast of yours with Abi, and what a fascinating story. What a strong woman. I hold James English as being the best podcast platform personally, but honestly mate you are just as good. Very respectful, attentive. (I've watched a couple of your podcasts, not just this one). In this episode particularly, I thought you were really in the zone .... whatever that means ! Great stuff Liam. Wishing you, your family, and your guest Abi all the best. Take care. Have a lovely weekend.
Liam I think you’re a true gentleman. I enjoy your interview style so much. Abi, I wish you a great life. What a woman you are x Thank you for sharing x
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! My pedophile died last year while I was in the process of reporting it to the police! Ive never had anyone understand how that leaves you bc we never had the opportunity to confront them or get closure or justice, which has left me feeling lost! I was also groomed by the local drug dealer who I met when I was 16, he got me hooked on drugs for s*x and have stupidly been calling him my friend for the past 20 years until I just heard you talk about yours and realised that is not normal and he is not my friend! I'm in tears now at the realisation 😢 at 18 I was groomed by a 30+ year old too, but I don't agree that we were "adults who were making our choices" I also realise a 30 year old man has no business with an 18 year old. I ended up an "addict" too, but I agree this was a form of self harm too. Im 4 weeks sober, age 41 and have recently come out of yet another abusive/toxic relationship, I'm utterly broken and depressed bc ive been blocking all this out since childhood and can't see a way forward. Just think you're so brave ❤
Hope you are well ❤ Start listening to your body and your gut - how people really make you feel....you are disconnected after abuse from how dreadful people are. I would say disconnect from everyone and spend time with yourself. Close your energy off to everyone and stay away from everyone. Stay home and rest . You are not well. Mental illness is very draining and challenging. Sitvin peace and Listen to yourself not other people ❤
You are a wonderful lady. Thankyou so much for sharing your story. Its a story that our family has lived through and its not fucking easy. You are a powerhouse and i admire you so much. As for wayne lineker, you wouldnt want to go near that place anyway. Much love xxx
I hate to see people almost destroyed by these tv execs and programmes. It’s a form of abuse in my eyes! She seems absolutely lovely, has been through a lot (which always creates certain emotions in a person as they try to navigate through them) I do agree that how her parents handled things weren’t the best and that her Mother did let her down severely by her reaction but it is true that different times did deal with things in different ways. My personal view is that every parent should protect their children no matter what but some just don’t seem capable. The fact she did did what she did for her Mum and Dad in their final days is testament to her being a good person, we have to remember that this happens quite a lot with abused children because they will forever crave their parents love no matter what they have been through. We just have to hold onto the fact that as it goes down the generations, hopefully each person will change the way things are and be better for their kids. Well done Abi, you did brilliantly 🥰
Real woman that ! BRAVO for saving your father ❤ What a strong woman you have had to be Abi wow 😮. Be proud girl , be very proud ! 👏 May your life be all you wish it to be. God bless you 🙏 ❤ 👍👌👏
What a beautiful human you are Abi! You express yourself so well, I don’t know if you have been told that before, but it is delightful to listen to you speak! So sorry that you have gone through so much, and I am so happy you have 3 beautiful children as you surely are an amazing mum too! I also have to add that you are a very beautiful woman, and your teeth are perfect too! I think they are the same shape as Angelina Jolie, you resemble her a little too. Sending you blessings! ☀️
I love this beautiful lady. I can relate to so much of her story and personality that it feels so crazy. Ur beautiful and brave and I’m sure ur mam is beaming with pride. Wish u all the very best ❤
Great lady.....u are so strong and ur story hits home. Ur beautiful all those trolls wud love to look like u. Great speaker lovely soul. Thank Liam.......one of ur best
These story’s are the hardest, listening to a person open up about abuse as a child, but I watch till then end because I know how much courage it takes for someone to open up especially publicly. It’s those stories that are the hardest to tell, listen to and receive are the stories that need to be told. Your an inspiration and to realise later in life your mum suffered also just shows how many people out there are still suffering in silence or have suffered and are now silenced. I applaud your strength, courage and bravery. May tomorrow be brighter in every way.
Abi seems like an attractive woman with an interesting character, clearly troubled by long term horrible abuse, abi deserves praise for her honesty after a tough childhood, good to see her alive and healthy and has found some peace, I appreciate her humour ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Liam mate I’ve been doing hot yoga now for 7 years I’m 57 it’s completely transformed my life 3 times a week still And next Friday god willing I be 4 years clean and sober 💜✌️🙏
If she thought her mother was the best person ever there’s something seriously wrong in my eyes ,for a mother to say don’t worry about being molested by her grandad it happens to everybody is absolutely disgusting ,the mother should of been arrested for even making comments like that even worse enabling it ,
Yeah it’s amazing how they became so close later on in life and yet I would have felt so betrayed by her Mum’s behaviour, during the time when she needed her the most.. as a little girl.
Exactly the same thoughts. This part with her mother seems to me like something not right in her story. Moreover, if the guy was her mother's father- wasn't she molested by him too? Then she passed him her own child?
Great video Liam ad adi u are like a fine wine the older u get the better looking u are I am sorry for the hurt u have been true but as they say u can't keep a gd thing down ad u are a brave woman for opening ur self up to the public ❤❤
I really want to know that woman’s name…so so scary! My dad was also surrounded by vultures when he became sick. Well done Abi, that takes so much strength, the amount of stress you would have dealt with is unimaginable. Keep going hun❤
Liam your technique is what is make of your pods top all the other big hitters…. Open questions engaged with the answer which leads to another open question you are not strict script reading but a proper conversation without it being lead back to your way of thinking only down fall we need more more more 👍😆
I went back and watched the first dates thing ... what was all the fuss about? She made a funny joke in the bathroom, and she seemed perfectly fine to me, she was joking around and i thought she was sincere and lovely about the guy. I'm absolutely baffled how and why anyone managed to turn that into a trol campaign. She came across perfectly fine to me
Your a lovely lass I think we all have the insecurities, these idiots who put nasty stuff they are hurting just listening to you and you are so genuine great listening to you ant Manchester 😊
I know Abi from IG her funny videos as a yoga teacher bringing different perspectives ..sorry to hear that she experienced this , no need to blame your self blame those kind of people and your family never realised that!
I hope this episode helps heal or comfort anyone that needs it. Huge respect to Abi for sharing her story & a big thank you to anyone that’s shown their support or shared their experiences & thoughts in the comments section.
