This was a Su-metal solo, another Su-metal solo songs in Babymetal: Akatsuki, Amore, and No Rain No Rainbow.
Babymetal also have a sub-unit called 'Black Babymetal', consist of Moa & Yui only and they were singing while dancing. Black Babymetal songs: GJ!, Sis.Anger, Onedari Daisakusen, and Song 4.
Black Babymetal has some heavier stuff & unexpected genre. Well, gotta expect the unexpected in Babymetal Galaxy. 🤘🦊🔥😎
They go full throttle from beginning to end of the show; they need a break, and so there are solo songs for Su, and Blsck Babymetal songs with just Yui and Moa.
This is the most technical song Su has on the first album. It's a bit of a departure, and the darkest song to date, but it's a good song. The breakdown, where Su sings into the bottom of the mic and uses her nose, that slays me every time.
This is probably my favourite song. The melodies are so incredibly beautiful, especially that calmer part in the middle always gets to me. I think it gets better when you know the lyrics, because the music and lyrics really support each other well in this song.

BTW, 'Mischief of Metal Gods' was the 11th song of a 16 song set.
'Rondo' is easily in my top five BABYMETAL songs.
It had it's world debut at Budokan Red Night, the previous evening.
It was this song, and 'Akatsuki' from the same concert that made me a die-hard fan.
Su had three solo songs that night. She performed 'No Rain, No Rainbow and 'Akatsuki' earlier in the set.
Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) performed two songs that night without Su.
And there were 10 songs with all three. : )
And that is why she is called a Queen
it was 6 string bass, and 7 string gold guitar
This is probably Su's hardest song from a technical standpoint. Takayoshi Ohmura (the one who had the second guitar solo) said in a video in which he explains some Babymetal songs from the first two albums that she's a genius for pulling that song off like she does.
But as much as I love this Mischiefs of Gods, I'm always a little sad that the version on UA-cam doesn't have Mikio-sama's guitar solo (he didn't play in the back-to-back Budokan concerts). His solos were always the cherry on top for me in these intros. Example from the third Trilogy show in Yokohama, the last concert before Tokyo Dome: streamable.com/b1xu1 . He's the one who's up first.

Yes, Suu has several solos, and yes, it is different, changes with almost every song, almost like a different band is actually a compliment, because I think that's what they are looking for with this song.
It's dark. Stark contrast with the usual happy tunes you would expect from 3 energetic teenage girls.
Each song is different, and has their own unique style, ambience, and fans. That's why we love Babymetal, reactions, and first time listens, you never know what to expect. Of course, sometimes it's a hit or miss but oh well, c'est la vie :).
This was halfway through the concert. The band was putting on long shows and they'd have songs that would let the girls rest a bit. So the Kamis would have solo parts like this, or Su would sing alone, or the other 2 girls, Moa and Yui would do a song to give Su a breather.
Their concerts are never really long. But they do a bit more choreographed dancing, on average, than your usual Metal group.
Scott Humphreys even the top athletes in the world get to take a half time break, there are other reasons one might need to leave the stage than just to rest
To me this song is Babymetal’s version of a sad song so it evokes a different emotion than the other songs

This was the 11th song out of 15 that night. Not an opener. The younger girls were taking a break.
Like I mentioned before, based on the music you like, check out "iine." It's a fun song from early on in their careers. The official music video is what you want to watch. It has a little bit of everything, and some of that "wtf" reaction fuel.

I'm sure you have been told everything about Su's solos, this song and the Mischiefs of the Metal Gods intro already. Personally I'm always impressed by Su's performances - and in this song in particular she shows so much range in her abilities going through so many time changes and singing her melodies over the instrumentals doing completely different things. As someone else has already said, Kami Band guitarist Takayoshi Ohmura said that she's a genius for pulling that song off like she does.
I wonder if you're not so impressed perhaps because you missed the choreo and supporting vocals etc of Yui and Moa so this song is more like a straightforward metal song with just a band and singer, so it doesn't have those extra elements that make BABYMETAL unique and out of the ordinary.

I can say there isn't any bad song in their playlist. I reccomend you hearing some new stuff (Metal Galaxy album), but be careful, they are harder about copyright and most videos are in bad quality, just dig a bit or ask someone where to find the good ones.

Giving the band members time to play solos is extremely unusual for "idol pop groups", for instrumental players are kind of backdrop, the main attraction is cute girls and boys. But they gave such a great solo time for the players, it is a declaration that BABYMETAL is not "idol pop group with the band" anymore, but a metal band of three young female singers/dancers and four talented players. (Which was suggested half a year before this show, by their appearance at the biggest metal festival in Japan anyway)
So this show was a turning point in two meanings. #1, they declared that they had become a metal band, and #2, at the end of the show, it was announced that they were going to EU tour, it could not be possible for a pop idol group. And the tour would be closed by the legendary performance at Sonisphere Festival and a headlining show in London.
Thanks for your comment from Japan 有難う💛。 As you may know, the 3 girls once said "We feel we have been all the time protected by Kami band" and Kamis said "The girls took us to stages in the world. We have nothing but gratitude towards them". This is the ideal relations between talented front performers and supporting super musicians.

Of course nationality kind of things do not matter in BM community, we're just the one as far as we love them and their music. These days racism and intolerance can be found everywhere, our country is not an exception, but I believe what BM is doing can be an effective counter action. キツネ UP!

Nice reaction. For me, this song wasn't near my top 10 for a while, as I kept hearing it via reactions, I've grown to love it (top 3?) Su slays me anew every time I hear it. And that's an F-ton of slaying! Also, regarding song title, "Rondo" per Google: "Rondo form is a piece of music where the musical material stated at the beginning of the piece keeps returning. This opening music can be called either the theme or the refrain; they are the same thing."
I've always assumed that was the 'Rondo' referred to in the song title, but I could be wrong.

The song is about Su having a recurring (thus "Rondo") nightmare (There's your title) that she is being chased by a unseen demon who is going to kill her. The part of the song where the instruments pause, the light goes blue, and she does the different sound is her hiding in a fountain asking the demon to just let her see it before she dies so she knows what has been haunting her. I think that is also part of the choreography of the song because she keeps putting her hand up to her face, almost like covering her eyes out of fear, but then builds up to the fountain part, which eventually leads to the end where she seems to be putting her hand up defensively against the demon's final attack.
🤘 Sad BABYMETAL week is over, but looking forward to the occasional treat. In the meantime, I'll be perusing your other reaction videos.
Great again man. This performance is absolutely amazing. The other solos by Su are amazings too. But there is one that not many know or is not given the importance it should. Tamashi no Rufuran live, is a cover of the original openning of Neon Genesis Evangelion. I recommend it to you. Is incredible! 🤟🏻 🦊 🖤

One thing about Budokan. This is actually a huge sumo wrestling arena, but for concerts, you have to be *INVITED* to play there. You just can't put it on your schedule and expect to play. They have to invite you. For example, the first band invited to play there, was the Beatles. Babymetal was (and still is) the youngest band ever to be invited to and play Budokan.
Also, Kami in Japanese means "god" or "god-like", so in the lore/story that goes along with Babymetal, the Fox God (kitsune) has sent his avatars (The Kami) to accompany Babymetal (the girls) on their journey through the Metal Galaxy. The thing though, is that you don't know who the Kamis are, as they can change at any time. That works, because the Kami Band is a rotating group of people. For this show, you have Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass, and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Other guitarists have filled in, like Mikio Fujioka (who sadly passed away), and ISAO. both Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce also are Kamis, as they have performed with them.
Other Kamis? Rob Halford (Judas Priest), the Kamis of the West (most of the band Galactic Empire), and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
As you've already heard, for this song, Yui and Moa are taking a break. They do that between songs from all the dancing that they do. However, when Su takes a break, Yui and Moa are performing, and they are basically a sub-group within Babymetal, called Black Babymetal. They actually get the heavier songs. If you want to see Black Babymetal, I'd suggest reacting to these, in this order:

The only serenity in this song is the serenity of giving up to an overpowering dark spirit you cannot see.
I find it amusing that you call Su's singing serene, when Koba got the idea for Babymetal from her lack of serenity while singing.

Other ppl already explained why she's alone so won't cover that myself. One consistent thing I noticed in your reactions is that you're talking about transitions... Then guess you'll have to watch Tales of the Destinies, it's Babymetal going Dreamtheater. That song has only been performed once live, and not sure it'd survive the block here. Might pass with the (not liked) compilations available here on UA-cam, but the "problem" is that this song is transitioning into another one (called... The One 😂) and compilations don't have it. But reacting to the real live performance is sure to get blocked... Dang 😅

Yet another awesome reaction, and sadly I've hit the end of them for now until you do another. I love this song and the intro as well. The Kami Band live up to their titles of being the "god of (insert instrument here)" and Su's voice just gets more and more powerful, yet nuanced as she has gotten older. While I think you should check out one of their newer songs since the newest you've gotten so far is 2016 with "Karate", I'd also love to see you check out a Black BABYMETAL song with just Yui & Moa in it to round it out since you just had the Su solo. Any of their four songs are awesome, but possibly the most metal song for the entire group is their song called "Sis. Anger".
Once you hit up one of those, I'd recommend checking out "Pa Pa Ya", "Shanti Shanti Shanti", or "Oh Majinai" as one of their newer songs from the album that came out last October. "Pa Pa Ya" is Moa's favorite from the new album, while "Oh Majinai" is Su's. (unfortunately, Yui left the group at the end of 2018, which I'm sure you've been made aware of before this, so we don't know hers). Also, it's one of the first songs they debuted from the album a full 18 months before it dropped, but I LOVE "Distortion". It is just a song that can get your blood pumping. I recommend their live version from Download 2018.

AHHHHHHHH! You did it and I'm late!! But still...yay! Its Babymetal! And not only Babymetal, but my current fav!!!
This song is just so beautiful to me! I've always been a fan of eerie, poignant sounds and this is just IT! That piano melody! That almost staccato, off time verse. The slide into the power chorus! Ugh! I just love every ounce of this song! And of course, Kamiband! There they go melting my face once again! Leda(1st solo) is a shredding beast! My fav Kami Takayoshi(2nd solo), is right up there with Leda, shredding and being an absolute God! And Boh....Boh! This performance of his is so badass that I couldn't help but fall in love with his playing and he just stole my love of guitar!! I have no other way of saying it other than he's just badass! And then we have our human metronome, Hideki, on drums!!! Do I even have to say anything about it...it completely speaks for itself!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and its ok that you felt something was missing. Yui and Moa inspire feelings like that when they're not there! They play the most important part of connecting to the crowd! Since Su's solos sorta cater to my personal tastes, I always come back to them, but Babymetal wouldn't be Babymetal without Yui and Moa(at least in this era).

Not the best version. But the best version on youtube :) There is a version that is even quite a bit better than this. The Kami band solos are all better and Su is older and sounds better. Even the Kami band has gotten better over the years. This was 2014.
Su was doing this song alone because they do that. She has solo songs. Yui and Moa had songs they did without Su. I'm sure i'm going to miss one but Akatsuki, Rondo of Nightmare, Amore, No Rain No Rainbow are Su solos. Kagerou was originally a Su solo and called Tattoo. Tattoo was performed live in 2018. There were also cover songs that Su performed Solo. Tamashii no Rufuran and White Love.
The songs that Yui and Moa did without Su are called 'Black Babymetal'. They are Onedari Daisakusen, 4 no Uta, GJ and Sis Anger. Onedari Daisakusen is the cutest of all Babymetal songs. Sis Anger is the heaviest. GJ is a very good song. They still performed that without Yui as a Moa solo. I don't think it would be wrong to put GJ as a top 15 Babymetal song.
The only thing I'll add is that "Kagerou"/"Tattoo" is still being performed, or at least was last year from a couple videos I've seen where they were in their new costumes. As you said, it is now with Moa and whomever the "Avenger" du jour is

Trust me this isn't an opening.
Most of the metal bands would love to have as good an opening as any BABYMETAL's mid-concert songs but BABYMETAL's openings are way more theatrical even than this usually :D. BABYMETAL DEATH is the song they used for years as an intro opening song. Nowadays it's Future Metal from the MG album.
Oh and In The Name Of... Once you've seen that intro from Legend S concert your mind will be blown.
Babymetal also does black babymetal where su metal doesn't come out. Just yui and moa. You could do sis anger or gj. The songs sound different all the time.

I actually agree with you on this one. I like all of their songs, but this one is somewhere in my bottom 10. The melody gets a bit boring for me sometimes. It's always amazing watching her sing it live though. I can never get bored of that!
