  • “I felt there should be only one thing issued, and it should be the complete report-as complete as it should be,” Attorney General William Barr told senators while his decision not to release excerpted summaries of the Mueller report before the full, redacted report was released. The Department of Justice released a letter Wednesday dated March 27 from special counsel Robert Mueller that suggested the excerpts might alleviate public confusion. Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., said Barr’s decision to wait three weeks to release the report gave the Trump administration time to claim he had been exonerated. Barr said he made it clear in his initial summary that Mueller had not exonerated the president.
