I'm truly amazed, I never saw this game played this long via multi player. I played this alone on Nintendo, my best was only at the cyclops. I was 10 by that time, until I lost this ROM, or someone borrowed it never returned it. This is really nostalgic, like I said I never got the chance to finish this game, I forgot the title of this until I stumbled it upon my recommendation. Thanks, I really enjoyed watching it, it's like I'm a kid again. 👍
The wizard didn't take the lvl 8 weapon because it hits only once, whereas the "Flamethrower" (Lvls 5, 6 and 7) hits multiple times, leading to extra XP and damage.
what a beautiful soundtrack from this game,. even from snes, the first stage theme, so epic..this game deserve to be on the actual generation, crossovers, etc...
The soundtrack in this game was the work of none other than the one and only (and underappreciated while at Capcom) Yoko Shimomura, who also happened to the chief composer of the timeless soundtrack of the original Street Fighter II (except for Sagat's theme, which was an arrangement of his SF1 theme done by the same composer). Yoko Shimomura and most everyone from the Alph Lyla sound group have since left Capcom. Shimomura has been under the tutelage of the legendary Nobuo Uematsu since leaving Capcom and have been producing amazing soundtracks while working for Nintendo (Mario RPG, Mario-&-Luigi, Paper Mario series, etc.) and Square-Enix (Kingdom Hearts series).
@@sdlock83 * Squaresoft first and foremost (Super Mario RPG was worked upon while under Square. Nintendo barely had anything to do with the game other than copyright on Mario characters). And above all, don't forget the legendary Legend of Mana OST for PS1. The first Kingdom Hearts game was also an original Squaresoft title, not Square Enix. It's important to highlight the difference, because almost nothing worthwhile came from Square Enix, as the merger completely ruined the quality of the produced games in all aspects (music being the least affected). Anyway, just saying.
The present games use hard rock, or opera style music to cut costs. Older games used a techno jazz style to make you remember each level. I miss the old days.
with my best friend, we used to play this game after school, we ended it with a credit each. it was difficult, I played the mage and my friend played the elf, it was epic.
One thing I just now noticed about this game is on the 10:20 mark. Instead of the food giving points to the full-health Cleric, it instead restores the hurt Elf. That's genius.
My favorite of the Capcom fantasy hack and slash titles, maybe not quite as deep as Knights of the Round (with the contant need to block, then attack, adds depth), but far longer of an experience. I have it on SNES (got it a few years before it's price shot up overnight), and on CCC Volume 2 PS2.
If Capcom just remaster this (or any of their old arcade game), make it playable on all platforms (including mobile) with 3 players online play. Sell it for $20-25, people would go crazy over it. Add replayability like adaptive difficulty or wave/challenge mode, score & online ranking. Capcom is quite dumb on making money.
So, guys, we beat the evil boss, restored peace and all, so what are we going to do after we get back to town ? Everyone: HOOOOO ! And thus, the local ladies of the night were busy for the next few days
I never could get into this one and I wanted to because I like the setting and the visuals. The music is excellent as well. For me, the lack of combos hurts it considerably. It just makes it less engaging in terms of gameplay. By contrast, I enjoy Knights of the Round much more because the combos and enemy management that goes with it. Add to that the blocking mechanic, which was strange at first but I grew to like it, that it suits my taste much more. I really wish the gameplay in this one was more like Knights of the Round. I am not saying it's badly made, just that its design left me disappointed. But then, even the following D&D games also didn't feel right to me, but those are well made as well and Capcom's other beat-em-ups are a lot of fun, so no hate from me.
Most will never know the fun of teaming up w a couple random strangers and running thru a game like this in a dark arcade.
Exactly, That reminds me of The Simpson, the last game I played with strangers at an arcade... Good memories
So many great memories doing that very thing. So much technology seems to distract and isolate now a days. This did the exact opposite.
Final Fight took me 5 dollars felt like a fortune lol!
Yep good times alright the 1980s..Gauntlet was and still is my fav arcade game..
@@darkayn7924 mine was TMNT in time lol
Playing this with your buddies at the corner grocery stop on a saturday evening, man THAT was what life is all about.
The 90's is where Capcom are king of arcades
King....hrm nope that was shared.

Klaus Martin Stramm As he ends up 4 levels higher than others, seems this strategy pays off well.
I was looking at the comments to see if anyone explained why he made that decision. Thanks!
I thought it was because the weapon has a shorter range.
Thank you! I was about to ask too lol. Does anybody still play these games these days?
Dunno , but the lightning somehow gives more damage rather than the flamethrower when i played it back then,
I remembered I can finish this game using warrior without death. Oh!! The old days

Good news. Capcom release a bumble game called Capcom Beat Em Up Bumble for the Nintendo Switch.

Square Enix is also a misnomer; Taito and Eidos are also part of it.
NICEなコンビネーションplayですね。

Looks fun! also thanks for putting the arcade hardware specs are in the description!
素晴らしいビデオ、私はドラゴンの王が大好き
I love this game with a passion. Always was a favorite to play on my snes emulator.

Just utterly gorgeous sprite work here.
5:02 hahahahahaha, poor dragon screaming because of the arrow in the groin.
This music... my God!
These games were so cool.
The best side-scrolling beat 'em up (or hack 'em up) Capcom ever produced imho. I still play it frequently!

I have to say, classic games' soundtracks are way more cooler than present. Catchy and Epic.
Their ok but don't quite match up to the present.

I think it only gives points if all 3 players have full HP.
Cleric has always been my favorite

このゲーム、スーファミ版でかなりやりました。ほぼ忠実移植でカプコンすごいなと思いました。
One of the best far better than knights of the round more enjoyable by tons also the lvl ups and the different weapons make it 10/10 replayable
Um dos melhores jogos de arcade. Deviam ter feito mais jogos dele.

amazing what an open world RPG experience that was brought out of the 90s sidescrolling beat em ups. This inspired the Diablos and WoWs
Well done!
