here a tip for shiny: bottom of desert spawn has 1% shinies so its easy to farm (also for shiny achievements)

Is it 50 different mobs of different rarities? What qualifies 2 mobs as different from each other?

It's not about rarity. eg you kil common bee then you kiled rare bee, rare wont count cuz they are the same thing, for the achievement that is.
