Never heard a scandalous or immoral thing about this lady. She was the epitome of class and elegance. I respect her for not falling into the dark temptations of Hollywood and remaining focused. Marrying a gay man was just unfortunate, as many men of the time were closetted and married to keep up appearances. She wasn't the first or last woman to go through that in Hollywood. Lansbury is an absolute legend. May she rest in eternal peace.

@@KarineAlourde Thank you for a great tribute video. She was an iconic actress/performer and lived a pretty decent life.
As for her comment, which you say you don't completely get, and don't agree with, I'll give you a man's perspective .
Of course, being overpowered and assaulted is a terrible thing and shouldn't happen. Angela was very brave to say what she thought. The truth is, a lot of men would agree with what she said.
If a young lady (or any woman) wants to look pretty and do her hair, nails etc., there's nothing wrong with that.
But if she wears a tank top and tight shorts? A thong on the beach or poolside? A mini skirt? Those are just "asking for trouble". What's the purpose in wearing such clothes? It's not because the clothes are "comfortable". The goal is to attract interest. What kind of interest? The one night kind. How do women not get this? It seems Angela did and was berated for it.
If you want a man, make yourself look beautiful in a modest way and you'll find a good guy, a keeper.
Dress like a hooker and there may be unexpected consequences. I think this was Angela's warning to the women of the world. Unfortunately, most just don't get it. Protect yourself by dressing and acting modestly. That's Angela's message.

      @@tripwire8457As a woman I agree with you 💯.
I understand her POV and mostly agree. I think a lot of us women lack wisdom these days & present ourselves suggestively, or place ourselves into dangerous situations that could be avoided. I think this is one of the reasons why God tells women to be modest in the Bible.🤷🏾‍♀️
I'm not victim blaming, BUT I am saying that we need to be realistic about the dangers of this fallen world & use wisdom to avoid bad situations the best we can.
If a billionaire takes his nice car to the hood & leaves the keys in it while he's visiting someone... we'd all give him the 😒 if he were to be shocked his car was gone when he came back out.😂 Yes they were wrong to steal his car, BUT he needs to take accountability for his poor decision making in the 1st place, bc he wasn't careful & put himself in that bad position.
I believe that some (not all) cases of SA are a result of the person's bad decision making. They didn't deserve it & it's wrong of the offenders, BUT they could've made diff choices to better protect themselves.
I feel like we do young ppl a disservice when we talk about SA, but excuse all the victims BAD decisions bc we don't want to "victim blame".😮‍💨😔 Because otherwise how are they supposed to learn to protect themselves by making safe choices & good decisions? We have to address the world as it is (full of evil predators), and not as it should be (safe from SA & violence). 🤷🏾‍♀️
That's just my opinion... sorry for the long msg.😅

I think she-and a lot of people now-are just uninformed about that kind of assault. For example, women and girls who dress provocatively are actually _less_ likely to be sexually assaulted than those who wear conservative clothing. Apparently, women who wear conservative clothing are seen as less confident and likely to fight. Plus, a lot of people who commit that kind of crime want to humiliate the victim as much as possible, which makes the conservative-looking potential victim more likely to be chosen.
If she’s talking about basic verbal street harassment, I don’t know data about that, but from experience, it doesn’t seem to matter what you wear or how much time you put into trying to look attractive. Those men just seem to want to make everyone uncomfortable.

I don't object to her opinions; I am just glad she had the guts to express them. Twitter might change now and watching the pathetic WOKE idiots leaving the building is a sheer joy. If Musk does change things people will not get cancelled for having opinions that don't correspond to the WOKE narrative.
I agree that women should accept some responsibility for the things they do. Cases of men jumping out from behind a bush are very rare. The victim is never responsible for an evil act being perpetrated against them. That is an incontrovertible point. However, a great many women think the world is what they want it to be, as opposed to what it really is. This childish level of intelligence endangers many girls and women. The horrifying rise in this disgusting crime warrants females being sensibly advised. It is not just a question of this assault; it is a misguided notion of what men want. Women are encouraged to dress like - frankly, prostitutes. They get drunk, go back to an apartment of a man they hardly know... I repeat, she is not responsible for any crime, but she is responsible for being reckless. I see true crime documentaries where women go out in a group, dance and drink...and then everyone wants to go except one woman who remains in the club alone. Many terrible crimes start out this way. In my day, no woman would stay alone in a club.
This might not be something you agree with, but hopefully things are changing. Women have been primary movers in the WOKE movement. They get hysterical and demand people stop talking about important subjects, rather than thinking and engaging with points made.

It’s laziness on the part of the critics. Angela was absolutely right about women using the best versions of themselves to attract men. It has been a currency since the first creatures were on earth. Both male and female of species preen and try to exhibit the healthiest features in order to fulfil the survival of the species. That is basic. However, the problem is that through history most women have only been able to trade on their looks because they did not have enough points in the status, power, money or family stakes. Men who did not make the most of themselves did not lose out in the same way as societies were generally patriarchal. Women were traded in marriage as a commodity and beauty was used to compensate for the other attributes. It was said that Nell Gwynn was open about making herself as ugly as possible whilst she was selling oranges in the rough theatres to keep away men in general. Men did not have a filter and in patriarchal societies women were seen as generally less valuable so could be used and abused frequently without any justice. This is still true and calling it “Domestic… well you know” is no help to the campaign to shift the emphasis to stigma of the abuser. The lack of openness about Domestic Violence is one of the reasons it has been able to exist for so long.
      Not well done.

Hey Karine you did a great job. I am a teacher and we have to continue to allow ideas of all sides conservative and liberal to be expressed. Old fashioned ideas in many fields are being reconsidered such as parenting or the importance of nature and environment etc. The bottom line here is modesty for women. Modesty in dress, but mostly in demeanor. At the end of the day we are the ones who are most influential on our children not the men. Ms Lansbury did not say we should not take care of ourselves or enhance our looks and she was not against the Me too movement. She was cautioning women and young girls not to reveal too much....to keep it short. It is a fact that some people in both genders can be provocative. That's how I understood her comments. I hope that makes sense in this highly sensitive debate. Peace.

I first remembered her from The Harvey Girls because I'm a Judy Garland fan. I actually never watched Murder She Wrote but knew of her from that show and of course Beauty And The Beast and Anastasia. I'm glad she was able to get her kids away from that situation. Knowing the horrible actions that came from that cult, it was definitely in the nick of time. As for her comment, I actually do understand in a way. Sometimes those of us who have been assaulted do place blame on ourselves. We shouldn't have been there, we should have fought harder, we should paid better attention, etc. Even though it really isn't our fault, we still put blame on ourselves and it's not easy to let that go. 25 years later and I'm still not able to let go of the shame and guilt for not fighting harder, etc. So, that's why I get it and that could be what she was getting at but just not in the context it was worded. It is an unfortunate situation where women are always having to be consciously aware of men around us and worrying one or more will impose themselves on us forcibly. Men don't have to worry so much about that because, while it can and has happened at times, they are not generally a target for SA. I just hope people understand that. I don't think she was victim blaming as much as she was just wanting women to be more aware of their surroundings and the people around them. Afterall, she worked in an industry where SA runs rampant and those in charge, that impose their will on others, rarely answer for it.

Any man who violates a woman should be…… Now, we have to look at the way women are dressing and acting. Today women are walking bearing their breasts, midriffs and bottoms with no conscience at all. This was a thoughtful and honest review of her life. We really did get to enjoy the best of her work. My Grandmother got me hooked on Murder She Wrote, and showed me many of the old classics she had roles in. Her skill and voice over work was undeniable. I don't agree with some of her comments, but she was from a time where many women adjusted their psyches to appease the male ego just to survive and have some level or comfort. Breaking that mentality may not have been where her strength was, which is ashame but She did was a good soul. As Women, we must learn the magnitude of our power and become better prepared for the energy it can attract. However, awareness of Self doesn't absolve violators at any point. ALL MEN/MALES MUST LEARN HOW TO CONTROL THEMSELVES as there is NO JUSTIFICATION for the violence against ANY WOMAN just because She has the ability to arouse male genitals. Nevertheless, Angela Lansbury certainly has earned her accolades and peaceful rest, she was a fine actress 💗

She may have meant it in a different way as well...but that doesn't mean she should have been attacked for her thoughts, as you know as a UA-camr that comments from Trolls are unnecessary and hurt. I will stand by people having their own opinions, but not the bullying involved in the disapproval of those opinions. You handled those differences of opinion with grace. By the way, I grew up around the Manson family...they even tried to block our car once...my Mother just gassed it and ran through them. Tex threw a bottle at us as we passed. It was really scary to see them on T.V. about a month later...very scary. Cyber Hugs.

On our honeymoon to NYC, back in 1966, my husband n I saw Angela Lansbury in the production of “Sweeney Todd”. I fell in love with her from then on…made sure I got home from school (teacher) JUST in time for “Murder She Wrote”. Aaaahh!
