Incredibly rare sight of pan am atr-42, well done
What was Pan Am doing all the way there
@@GabrielViana-mg3vh Flying Hamburg - Berlin v.v.
@@GabrielViana-mg3vh Pan Am served some routes from Hamburg: New York, Miami (1-Stop), London, Berlin, Vienna. Berlin was mostly served by 727s and A310s, but in the later years ATRs were quite usual as well.
My last LH 727 flight was back in June 1982 from LHR-MUC.
Wow! Ich bin 1993 geboren und hab mich schon immer gefragt wie der Flughafen in den 80ern aussah. Geheimnis gelüftet.
I was at Hamburg only once, in 1990, and remember mostly all those Lufthansa and PanAm 727's. Boarding a KLM 737-200 (leased from Transavia) by bus and stairs.. One nagging question that popped up years later: It was my first time travelling in Business Class, I was at the airport early and just waited in the gate area. Did KLM have a lounge in those days at HAM?
No, but they used the Airport Lounge.
Pan Am had ATRs based at Berlin Tegel (TXL)
1:57. Anyone know the the Viscount (Airline and/or it's id) ?

What type of aircraft are you in? It looks like a 737. I could be wrong. Greetings from Norway.
727 I think? I can see why you think it's a 737. But I think you can see the engine of the 737-200 usually from that view and the engines sounded like they were are the back.
I can recall that it was a flight from HAM to MUC with LH on 22.09.1981. Looks like early morning ;)

The answer to your question was given here three years ago 😀

what is an Pan-am ATR-42 doing at Hamburg? Could it actually fly that far?
Panzer VI Tiger They are feeder aircraft. They fly to FRA or LHR to feed the larger PA flights to JFK/LAX/SFO or MIA.
Ah that makes sense, thanks!
They flew part of the Hamburg - Berlin flights with the ATR, next to 727s.
Can someone explain Pan Am ATR please. What route would this be flying? Does this mean that Pan Am had domestic operations in Germany/Europe?

@@Marcdecologne thanks for answering 😀
what was Pan Am doing with regional aircraft in Hamburg???
They flew between Berlin and Hamburg, with both 727 and ATR these days. There have been 737 and A310 on this route as well in the "modern days". The flights from New York were operated by A310, 747 -- and L1011 when they still had them.
Still see a viscount plying its trade .
I am going to say that the plane that you were on at the time is a Boeing 727-200 of Lufthansa. That is my guess!!!
Could it also be the Pan-Am 727 at 1:04?
Nice 😍 😘
Eine unbeschwerte Zeit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, die hören sich ja grauenhaft an. Da lob ich mir den A380.
Cooles Video. Like
