This was Bboy Taisuke final BC One because he announced his retirement from this competition. It's sad that he never won it but either way he is one of the best bboys and I have nothing but respect for him!
maybe when he comes across other bboys in competitions and in between sessions with his crewmates, he wanted to set himself apart from others by adding more dynamic transitions and explosive style/power into his set. when you're young, you want to follow those who come before you. when you grow older, you want to do things your way. i'm not solely talking about signature moves but signature movement.
you see the brotherhood between the two of them from behind the scenes become more apparent here. Hong10 blowing a kiss at the end of the first round but Taisuke responding saying that if he's retiring this year, he has to show the world how fierce he really is, that if it's his last battle, he wants it to be memorable and with his best moves. Hong10 respectfully responded by bringing out his moves, combos and sets as well. even at the end, Hong10 hugged him dearly. this was a bittersweet battle.
Yeah he tries to do it fast and dynamic. He needs to change tempo and add some foundation/repetition in footwork concepts on top of his blow up style. Then he would be complete IMO

You need more variety of moves like hong 10 does, or at least have the capabilities to dish out that many levels. That's the problem with taisuke, his rounds are barely 10 seconds, and let's be honest, most of his moves are really similiar, being mostly in jackhammer positions, flare "animation cancels' and etc. "He doesn't need to do longer rounds". Clearly that isn't the case when he lost shit ton of battles because his rounds were too short.

Taisuke has short sets, yes, but the speed and difficulty of his moves make it harder to have longer rounds. Yeah he can make it longer but he could be sacrificing the cleanliness (quality) of his sets. I'd rather have his short and sweet sets rather than having him have sloppy long sets. taisuke has short, but super clean rounds. Not a single slip up hong 10 had minor slip ups in all of his rounds and two noticeable crashes in his last one. but his rounds were way longer and were more dynamic could have gone either way.

Taisuke was very clean throughout all 3 rounds but they felt a lot shorter than normal for him, was expecting him to throw out his signatures like his criticals or germanmills/2000s when Hong 10 threw out his but nothing while Hong 10 just had so much more moves. Hong 10 had 2 major crashes, 1 in round 2 and 1 in round 3 though I wouldn't call it "long crashing sets". Either way both bboys are in my top 3 and was hoping for a grand final with both of them but brackets didn't agree. Taisuke's biggest enemy is still "stamina" =/
I don't think his problem is stamina, he is not even out of breath after all of the rounds. It's his style, and very impelling. All his rounds have a well-defined beginning, main part and the end and they are very clear, as any dance should be. Compare to Hong 10, you don't see this structure in his dance at all, I'm not saying Hong 10 is bad, he's great, but stylistically taisuke's dance, structure is just out of the league.

I sit on everyday to learn some old facts from different people such as Crazy Legs,Rahiem, Afrika Islam and others, i have tons of things to say when it comes to hip hop in general,but since were talking about this event. Ok all the judges judge differently of course, but when its clearly obvious that the other opponent won it just has to be objective and fair....i'm not disrespecting their opinion or something, they are professionals that know their shit sticked together precisely accurate.

He already organized his rounds through his training. Not sure he considers adding a bit of freestyling or adapting to his opponents in the moment, such as kleju or lilou. He seems too reserved to add extra moves to his pre-planned sets - I'm sure he knows his physical limits and mental stamina. The thing is, he's throwing out crazy power sets and blow ups, which undoubtedly drains his stamina. Towards the end of each round, he probably figures out that it's never a good idea to go all out in case he makes it to the finals or has to go through a tie breaker. I dunno, retiring means you're taking a break in your career since you're exhausted of practicing each and every day. It's his personal decision. Can't get mad at him for that.
i think it's matter of efficiency in the point of whole competition, nut just for this one match. he showed his stamina problem since 2014, so it seems that he is controlling his sets with short, but packed and fast delivery of hard moves.

the thing is Taisuke said in an interview that he just wants to enjoy the event and that he is fine with not winning. I think that's why he didn't go all out in this battle.
Taisuke is one of my favorite bboys, but he frustrates his fans with his short rounds. To compete in bcone you cannot only enjoy the event, its about enjoy and going to your opponent's throat, face hong 10 with those rounds is admit that you wanna lose.

lol? Menno "won" against Blond, Thesis and Alcolil with 2/0 But Taisuke used a lot of sets before final: Luan 2/1 , Wing 2/1, Cheerito 2/1/. In final judges voted 3/0 for Menno. Its was fake championship.

Taisuke can pack enough stuff in 15 seconds while other Bboys need 30 plus look at his Speed and control, there aren't many bboys who can do that plus his musicality is as good as Isseis. It was great seeing him back at BC One, hope he is gonna be a judge in 2017
