I am badly wanting a remaster of Medieval 2 that will allow the game to run better and to be modded through workshop. If there's any way for you to put pressure on CA and Feral to do that or to find out if they are, that'd be awesome!
Feral already are doing it for Android and Apple mobile devices. This is how Rome Remastered was done, so I think, we would see Medieval 2 Remastered more or less soon.
I have been on an Anglo-Saxon Britain / pre Kingdom of England UA-cam docu binge recently and I’m really excited to try out Insularis Draco! I had not heard of this mod yet! I still have yet to pick up ToB so seeing this video made me pumped! Thank you, for all of your hard work. You do great things for the TW community!
nice video and tastes all along, but I was really sold when you mentionned bulat and mostly Tzardoms at the end^^ Even from the beta versions , i was amazed by the ambition and stability of Tzardoms, this mod is glorious in all aspects!
My top 5 favorite Medieval 2 mods are: - Tsardoms Total War - Stainless Steel Historical Improvement Project (SSHIP) - Third Age Total War Divide and Conquer (DaC) - Broken Crescent - Third Age: Reforged
I missed lategame medieval 2 so much I re-bought it and kingdoms on steam yesterday. I never really got into playing stainless steel back in the day so I'm doing that now. I never managed to reach late tech in medieval kingdoms 1212 without completely dominating. thanks for the video I think ill try all the mods mentioned.
I'm playing the 'kingdoms grand campaign mod' ... originally by 'Pike' and updated by Gigantus and Delphor at TW Center. It's really good and stable ... no crashes. It has a bigger map, lots more regions cities and includes all the factions from the expansions in the main campaign. It's the only mod with a larger map that actually plays well on my laptop. I highly recommend it. It's better than Vanilla beyond. ( i tried that one).
I want to recommend 2 great mods based on Warhammer Fantasy: Beginning of the End Times(BoTET) and Call of Warhammer:Rise of the Dark Gods (CoW). Both run on Warhammer lore and are an absolute blast in terms of hardcore battles and extremely challenging. CoW is more guided and scripted but in return you get the lore friendly version of the Chaos tide in the old world only. BoTET instead is an open sandbox in that regard. You literally can do whatever (destroy the empire as Ostland or something) and the map is huge, going from Lustria to the Bad Lands just bordering Ogre territory to the east. You get almost all races and each is unique (except maybe for empire provinces but that is how they are in lore). Lots of conquest to do and a lot of super epic and diverse battles. Aint the same fighting against the Empire and fighting versus some green bois. Highly recommend you try both! Call of Warhammer: www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-warhammer-total-war BoTET: www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-warhammer-beginning-of-the-end-times I completely agree with Third Age, Stainless Steel and Europe Batbarorum 2. The others I havent played. Specially Third Age with Divide and Conquer
Its so sad you don't mentioned Thera total war... I mean its barely balanced but fr its awesome how it managed to mix so many different timelines and universes, and still be an acceptable thing. And tbh its fun to kill reptile warriors with samurai rocket crossbowmans
I play stainless steel 6.4 bugfix edition from i frogot the name giant etc And then i try histroical Even when i admit i am kinda of (i wait until is reach 1.0)
for me, the best of the best right now is bulat steel !!! i have a little problem with this mod if you can help, normally, the generals have titles when they stay in a town or castle but i lost this script while searching something else in the setup of the mod, could you help me to find it please ? :,(
Third age DAC is amazing, since seeing your video on insularis draco iv not been able to leave the game alone lol it blows thrones ot of the water. Gotta say aswell I d love stainless steel and ES total war. There is also a Dragon age total war still in development or there was anyway which looked amazing

Yeah, now we are talking! Wholeheartedly agree on the first place, both as TW and Tolkien fan ) Should have mentioned the Warhammer one though, it's so massive and good.
Medieval 2 mods are just amazing. from elder scrolls to Warhammer, from ww1 to the bronze age... scandinavian focused mods, chinese, south america. EVERYTHING just love it
My favorites: 1: Bulat steel 2: Third age divide and conquer 3: Tsardoms total war 4: Warcraft tw 5: Elder scrolls tw Honorable mentions: Broken crescent The last kingdom With fire and sword 2

Tsardoms and stainless steel for me battle it out for number one. Kingdoms grand campaign is a great old standard I'd put 3rd. Then probably broken crescent and eb2. Need to try lucium total war and insularis. It's sad Deus lo vult seemed to stop development and all under heaven never finished.
My top 5 mods for Medieval II Total War: 1. Stainless Steel - most precisely the SSHIP 2. Europa Barbarorum II 3. Chivalry II The Sicilian Vespers - five eras campaign (Dark Age, Early, High, Late and Renaissance) 4. Third Age - Massive Overhaul Submod (MOS) and Divided & Conquer 5. Insularis Draco
@@TheTerminatorGaming please cover Dragon Age TW and there's a new Hyrule Mod as well Could you also make a video on Bulat Steel - I been wantingto try it Maybe also make a video on the best custom cities in Med 2 mods as well!
Roar of Conquest deserves a spot and does better than stainless steel, no crashes, stable mod. Reworked unit details are absolutely stunning. The pikes and musket formations are top tier and smooth.
The musket in Lucium mod is just so awesome (the sound is really good) EB2 is my favorite mod for now, trying to install Stainless steel now But my English is not good enough for playing mods, so many texts I have to take even more time than playing games (X)
You use some acronyms I am unfamiliar with like T.O.B. and I am curious if I can get that with just Medieval II: Total War..? I noticed some stuff that looked like it was from other Total War games in the video. I've literally only ever played Empire: Total War vanilla, and then with DarthMod and an All Factions Mod that was compatible with DarthMod. The Middle Earth mod looks way cool though. All of these mods do. I'm going to play the game vanilla first just to get an idea of it. Then I'll try out some of these mods, but I may just try and find a DarthMod version for Medieval II if they even made one. I like how it has the mod client built in with the mod. I'm really not a serious gamer, and modding confuses the shit out of me tbh. I am very into older games. I also have a low-end PC right now, so these games are a blessing for me personally. Especially because I purchased the newest version of Age of Empires II and cannot run it on this PC... So, being able to play Empire: Total War has been awesome. I love medieval stuff though and wanted to try a different Total War game. I'm wondering if it's worth playing any older titles? The way they made the WH games seems like they're all linked together. I kinda hope they're all related like expansions, and that you can access every single Warhammer army once you've purchased all 3 games and DLC, so that you can see battles between any and all factions WH has to offer. Anyways... Thanks!
There is only one problem I have with Steinless Steel - GOD DAMN AI RECRUITMENT. A faction with one last city was able to field 4 full armies! They were trash militia standing no chance against my army, but those battles were boring and annoying. And it kept happening with everyone. Each castle and city was able to form a bilion of units I had to bash through with no fun at all just to capture it. I really wish they could fix it to be more balanced and enjoyable, for at some point killing the 10-th army made up of pesants, militiamen and 1-2 actually deacent units just became boring and mood-killing.
My fav M2TW mod, other than 3ATW/DAC is Falcom. Its map includes the entire world except for West coast North America. So I like to play the mongols and sweep the world to conquer the Americas. Unfortunately the map does not loop so noone can go east over the pacific to the Americas.
you know what i REALLY WANT in a Total War game is to REMOVE THOSE UGLY FLOATING FLAGS ! replace it with the flag bearers of some rome total war mods where its more realistic. its held by a unit.
I was really enjoying Lucium but it just isn't stable enough to play a long campaign in my experience, and that isn't so much the fault of the particular mod, it just seems that massive overhaul mods break the game in general.
Look at the Titanium submod for stainless steel. SSHIP is great but it's too realism based and is so fucking slow and tedious. Titanium is a pure improvement from stainless steel 6.4.

"Historical accuracy" some units have Tschakos in the 18th century lol. But a minor detail I guess..?

I heard 'Legend of total war' recently say that he'd heard something that suggests a Medieval 3 is in the works, but it's still a few years away.
SSHIP is an absolute BLAST. Brought me back to Medieval 2 and I spent more than 100 hours on my last campaign.
