Receptor and sensory neuron cells practice lateral inhibition through interneurons for sharpness and contracts, do neurons use gap junctions to excite each other and coordinate action potentials? If so, are there interneurons also that are excitatory that produce this same effect (affirmation and coordination between cells)?
Do cells have one gap junction or many when they are connected through gap junctions? Do they all close and open at the same time?

I guess there is the mistake in this lecture: gap junction length is about 35 nm, not 35 angstrom.
