Legit the biggest motivator for me to learn JP is to understand full RoberuNightMea streams, it pains me that I can only really rely on subbed clips like these to do so ;-;

I feel that sentiment so much 🥲. I appreciate the people who do translate. I want to watch them so bad but all I can do is watch them through clips, hoping to God that all like 2 people(Statsky and Tai) who clip n translate any RoberuMea puts out a video.
RoberuMea has to be my top 3 reason I'd want to learn Japanese but it would probably take like 3 years and we know how quick vtubers age so by then they may or not be around by the time I would grasp more than 3 word sentences without staring at a dictionary.
I say do it anyway. These two got me fully into the hole and also got me into translating and making clips. In a different part of this stream, one of the marshmallows was from a college student who'd been watching them since they were in highschool...
Which means these two have staying power. Like, they've been collabing once a month for... 2.5+ years at this point? Have we ever seen a duo regularly collab like this in this scene for this long this regularly ever? Or in streaming in general? And they also seem eager to keep doing it too (from another part I haven't started making into a clip)
So yeah, if you can find the time I say do it!

Roberu's manner of talking about the value of compliance policies even as an indie VTuber drives his point even further to me, and that's also while I remember the wild stuff he's done before. Brother knows and appreciates both the entertainment and moral values of deliberately leaving yourself more open to restraint the more you cut yourself loose. It even complements Mea as much she complements him with how she goes to the beat of her own drum! People like him are the true heart of VTubing, if you ask me.

That's certainly an opinion. If the end goal of all entertainment was to end up being the same monotonous content rehashed over and over, I could see compliance policies being useful. I mean just look at how interesting stand up comedy is these days, right?
It actually has no purpose and is actually detrimental to true creative freedom, though. Romeo and Juliet could never be made today, for instance.
People care way too much on appearances and what others think, especially on the internet, to actually create interesting or thought provocative entertainment these days. It's all turned into who can farm the most worthless psuedo backpats these days by pretending to believe in whatever the internet or other people tell them is right or wrong. Shame, really.
@@MKP2W Well, even if we wanted no rules, we still want rules anyway. And to believe that rules don't matter is easier to do when we want and manage to get away with things we shouldn't. I mean, if rules don't matter, then shouldn't we not complain about anything, then? Anything's good, after all, but we consider that a problem from time to time for some reason only we know and nobody else can understand. So yeah, our complaints prove that even though we so often struggle to figure out what the rules actually are, there are rules, and rules matter. And our struggle to recognize that, let alone accept that, can be quite the comedy too, no?

@@theoverlordbear I thought we were talking about compliance in a creative medium (entertainment). I certainly understand the importance of rules I just don't think they should matter or be as restrictive as they currently are in a creative context. Sorry if you misunderstood what I was trying to say.
@@MKP2W Well, in that case, you're reminding me of a professor I once studied under in university, a really well-reputed guy in the place at least, saying something similar about rules in going creative. Something about knowing the rules to break them. I don't think that would be my ideal way of wording it, but I suppose it is for a bunch of other people and maybe even most people. So hey, you got backup there! 😁

These 2 have some interesting chemistry. I don't know what it is but Meas unhinged behavior mixed with Roberus professionalism just hits different
I feel like there is visible, palpable understanding between the two which promotes that good vibe when they just click.
It's like they're both aware that they're very different individuals but approach each other through the same temperate care and consideration until they get close enough to the middle of the line both are comfortable with. And then just naturally swing away.
This way, sometimes they're just amused with each other, sometimes they just realized how similar they are in some way.
Idk, it's the vibe I'm getting at whenever they interact.
Neither are getting caught up in each others' vibes all the time. They're always meeting at the midground.
Its kind of like the classic JP comedy set up, the boke & the tsukommi orwhen theres a duo/ team of two theres the anything-goes-one and the straight laced by-the-books-one.
I think we're seeing a naturally occuring example of this trope and its fascinating to see
