Love the history & love your primitive gatherings fabric quilt...I am with you on being skeptical of her fabrics but they are just so classic they always look good in a quilt

Stephanie, Thank You for talking to me about 1/2 square triangles and how to use a regular ruler to square them up. Living on a limited income makes it difficult to have each of the rulers that others say you need. Yes, it would be nice to have but I tend to spend my money on fabric rather than all these other rulers. This block turned out wonderful. I am going to invest in your magic juice. That makes such a flat seam! I appreciate your videos, Thani You!!

Stephanie thanks for explaining how to make the Jacob’s Ladder. I have not made that block. The block and quilt will be a perfect and special gift for my husband who is a pastor. It has been on my list for his next quilt but I have not seen anyone make it. So this was a huge blessing. I do have a pattern that I ear marked it but have not looked at how it’s made. Thank you so much for the tutorial. I’m still working on the Mosaic Star and I just need to make the points around the centers.

👏If there's any " old school" folks I wonder if a local library might have the book too. It is a really pretty block & the history is interesting. That book has been in my amazon saved list for awhile for that very reason , looked like a good reference . Myself, doing genealogy for years I understand lost history & it is so tragic . thank you for attempting to keep history alive 🤗 BTW it's a race for me ... comment before the video ends lol but then I hit post & what do ya know I have more to say 🤣 You don't need to respond to every comment I make ,I understand I'm spamming & your busy PLUS still healing 🙏 Love Ya girl!

@ColeenSewsChats that's a great idea, the library. I love history and find this myth vs reality around the Underground Railroad fascinating!

From my Google search I found this> #1 - Jacob's Ladder - It has an alternating path of dark and light that can be used to show a direction. The slaves could know which way to go by the angle at which the quilt was placed outside the home of the abolitionist.

Thanks! I am using fabric from Moda by Kansas Troubles. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the name of the line, but they make a lot of reproductions.
