Very good video, mate. Can see how much effort went into the filming with all the different camera angles. Takes so much time to set this up and backtrack to retrieve the camera when you're out on your own. Also very good information on the Tenkara. I always wanted to get one but so far haven't managed, haha.
Haha yeah man, it took ages haha! But rewarding to edit. Tenkara is fun but I think in nz it’s not allowed. However I’ve caught garfish/piper on it that’s good fun
Thank you! Yeah I agree it is minimalist. Don’t get me wrong I love my 0# sage on those streams too but sometimes it’s nice to change it up and have a play. Thanks for the comment 🙌

Any chance on a hint on the location
Another great video mate, I am also surprised that there is still trout in that part of the creek.
Cheers mate, yeah their lean in numbers less and less each year.
I pickup a tenkara rod to throw in the backpack for days I want something ultra light and ready to go. Great video!
Thank you 😃
Yeah it’s good like that. And can fit in your pack discreetly for a hike too
Wicked footage and camera angles 👍
Thanks man. Had a bit of time to set everything up haha 🤙 even tied colour grading haha
@@AdriftFishing Well it definitely paid off!
@@EthanYeo1 thanks man 🙌
How nice is that scenery... the trout are okay too :P
Pretty aye, yeah we only get small ones here and only in a few spots
The place is beautiful! Nice fishing vlog
Thank you, it’s a pretty place 🙌
It's a great way to FLY FISH small tight streams.
Sure is, just a pain when you miss a strike and hook a tree 30’ up haha
Cane pole fishing.... correct
Pretty much, all good for a bit of fun though 🤙
Looks like good fun, wouldn't mind trying that one day. Not sure it's legal on fly fishing only waters here though, apparently.
Yeah it is man, esp for small fish. From memory it’s illegal in nz though
@@AdriftFishing you know you'd try it somewhere you shouldn't right 🤣🤣 just like that 3d printe reel
@@CrazyAboutFlyFishing hahah that reel lol
Great video, not much of a fan, but I have to recognize that tenkara is more simple... maybe the word is minimalist. All the best.
Thank you!

Awesome video! The quality of this footage was really good and I really enjoyed it!
Thank you 🙌
It was a fun little session to film. More fish next time I hope 🤞
Cool content- I liked yout style of videos. The simplicity of the video represented the simple nature of tenkara :)
Thank you mate, appreciate it. It is definitely simple, I do both depending on how I feel lol
Tenkara is NOT fly fishing. It’s cane pole fishing. Dafaq outta here.
😂 the controversy 😂😂
Very few people do it here in oz
Funny guy. Tenkara is the true fly fishing. Western fly fishing originated from it and the Italian Valsesiana style.
@@argokuusk interesting, so it’s the original then 🤔
@@argokuusk fly fishing started in New York and uses a reel.
@@JP-dz7zu A reel does not define fly fishing, using a fly does. That's why it's called fly fishing.
nice
Cheers mate 🤙
