I have no idea to this day. I go back every year and have seen the same thing a couple of times, so it's carbon-based and not a plastic bag. No jellyfish. I've been to the turks and caicos every year for 10 years and have never seen one. Still haven't seen an octopus either, but you rarely do despite them being there. My snorkeling buddy saw a huge lemon shark the year this was filmed. I didn't have my gopro.
I think you might be right. I apologize for my confusion. To be honest, a guy on the beach told me it was a hawksbill and I just took his word for it. Beautiful none-the-less.
hey Sean! great videos, I have noticed that in some of your videos the footage was crystal clear, and in others a blueish tint. Did you use a filter for some shots? I have snorkeled around Coral Gardens and most of my footage isnt as sharp. Any advise?
Sorry for the really late response. I do use a red filter occasionally on my Gopro Hero 2. I ordered it on Amazon. They're really cheap. The shallower you are though the more likely it won't help.
What was that plastic bag looking creature near the parrotfish? Jellyfish? Octopus of some sort? Or just coral? Did you see any sharks?

Great video but, think that is a Green Sea Turtle, not a Hawksbill.

Haha no worries brother. I did eventually buy a filter, but as you said you truly cant appreciate the difference in shallow water.
Wildlife have enough worries without some self-important American harassing them. Lol I say that because I’m American 🤣
