Zdeno Chara was the epitome of class and respect. An upmost professional, a hockey and European born icon. All as captain of an orinal 6 team. Hockey Hall of Fame 1st ballot. Community leader. Mentor. Etc. Guy was the soul of a great organization and lead them to success with their core they have now.
What a dream it was to watch this guy. All my love to my favorite player Big Z, I was hoping he’d give one more round in Boston, but I’m even happier for him to go out in his terms!! So excited to see him inducted into the hall, after all, no one’s raised the cup higher!! Congrats Z!!
Absolute legend on and off the ice. In addition he had one the most stellar work ethics in all of professional sports. Glad I had the priviledge to see Zdeno play live in TD Garden back in 2019. Thanks for all the memories Big Slav Boss
Thank you for all these years with Boston, Chara, we love you, and support your future. As someone who has and still lives in Massachussetts most his life, Im going to miss you not being on the Ice. Good Luck you absolute Legend. Bruins! Once a Bruin, always a Bruin.
Thank you for carrying the torch left by legends such as Bourque and Orr. You were a man of the people. I'll cherish the memory of bringing my grandfather to meet you. 🏆💎
Congratulations Zdeno Chara Enjoy Your Retirement You Will Always Be A True Legend With Great Memories And Thank You For Everything You Done In Your Legendary Career Well Deserved.
Not only have you been one of the great defensemen of the NHL all time ,but you have been a Great ambassador of the game and will continue to do so . Thanks
NHL will never be the same, he was the last old school defenseman and practically the last NHL player who started his career in 90' together with Jumbo Joe. NHL will miss that type of player, his strength, leadership and defense skills. Huge (not only by his height) leader, THE Captain on the level of Mark Messier and one of the biggest ice hockey names in last 20 years. There is no captain of his level in NHL now. 3 years to NHL HHOF and hopefully even less for IIHF HHOF and his jersey in TD Garden.

Why did you not include Chara absolutely smashing people’s faces in? Besides having an all time heavy clapper, the dude was a beast, one of the last enforcers. Omitting his physical game is ignoring a huge part of who he was as a player. Just a continuation of the NHL just trying to make hockey sterile.
Weird that the video only features the goals. He was a defenseman, no spectacular defensive plays, blocking shots, saving goals, clearing the front of the net, dishing out body checks, sticking up for a teammate, getting in a fight? Weird.
@@boxofboxess saying he wasn’t special is ridiculous. In his prime he was arguably the #1 shut down defenseman in the league. He won a Norris trophy and finished top 3 in voting like 4 times. He was an absolute work horse

I hate Boston but I can always respect Senators Legend, Big Z
Why didn't they show any of his defense or hits?

Big Z with a short handed goal 😂😂
