I remember seeing the SOM at Leeds a while back and after the show there was a rumor Eldritch was at a local bar. Me and my friend went there and he was actually there. I'm not one to be shy, but there's something about this guy being a few feet away from you where you just aren't sure what to say. So anyway we managed to speak to Eldritch and he seemed really "normal", like speaking to the average guy in a pub. We spoke about the music scene, does he miss leeds, and other stuff. Probably one of the soundest men I've ever chatted to and I hope he is well today
From reputation, it seems what he can't stand is sycophants and business people. He's smart guy by all accounts, so he must have seen through that crap pretty early. Maybe his reputation as a c*nt comes from those people. But then, I don't have your firsthand experience !
To those who feel the need to make derogatory comments about how a man has aged - remember - we all grow old - but we all still have to earn a living too. How do you look compared to your 1984 self - really...
His vocals were never amazing. It's getting pathetic. And how long will it take for a new cd ? I would have loved to have seen them in 1983-1985 but after that it got worse

Hell Yeah love the Sisters! Was lucky to see them only one time in Denver, CO at the Fillmore while visiting and it was a great show. Played all my favorites and then some. Some people yap about him with no hair etc. but hell...I'm now 47 and my hair is cut short clean cut and I have a long white beard like Gandolf from Lord of the Rings and my eyes are a bit shriveled and I still wear black T shirts of all my favorite bands from back in the day and still listen to my jams always and forever. So with that said...love the rest of you guys my age doing the same thing. Nuff said. A+++++

The shorter his hair became the worse the concerts got. I saw them 4 times. 1984 - I instantly became a fan and one month later I had every song they ever made. 1991 - a very good concert (they should have stopped at this point). 1998 - holy crap what a extremly bad sound quality - it was just noise and sometimes a melody would shimmer throu. 2003 - I thought I`d give them another chance but after the concert I knew that this was the last Sisters concert I visited. ... and judging by the vids of concerts afterwards it was the right choice - it didn`t get better
And you wonder then why a bunch started to follow The Mission UK. Granted, they ain't always good either, but they are more professional, in my opinion.
Not exactly thrilling on stage though, is he? He saunters up, leans against the guitarist, then just sort of shuffles to and fro, holds a pose, shuffles over there, poses, shuffles back, poses, and sings half the lyrics of the song. And he looks like Varys from Game of Thrones, on vacation in a lounge hoodie.
same amount of smoke from late 90s then. prefer to listen to the vinyl than fork out for a live act you cant see.. and lets face it. a guy holding a mic... maybe not eh
I don't see a thing wrong with it. I bet you think the same of Christian Death with Valor "Wind Kissed Pictures" era which is what this particular track has always sounded like to me. I'd seen them in Miami 1991 but I would trade that for seeing them now because Mr whammy bar is vacant, thank goodness.
Valor is a Christian Death cover band. Have you seen their Illuminazi video? Total rubbish song AND vid. They suck. 1985 was the last good year for CD.

Andrew Eldritch: the only songwriter that comes on the same level as Jim Morrison when we are talking about great lyrics!
Ever heard of Joy Division, The Sound, Swans, Sophia ... ???
and Morrisey...
Sin duda, es uno de los mejores single que he escuchado de esta magnífica banda. Saludos desde Lima, Perú.
Grew up listening to the sisters, still never heard andy sing live even though he lives next door but one to me
They have gotten older...but actually a good performance after all these years
Not bad for a cover band!
Ya done made me laugh out loud
Actually I heard that their cover band, The Sisters of Murphy were better than the sissies in their current incarnation.
Aye, but the singer lets them down a bit.
