If I can offer a suggestion for handling fish when you neets to unhook them, turn them inverted it paralyzes them momentarily and calms them down. Taken from personal experience, you can research but from personal experience works.

Great action and a solid message about caring for the wildlife. One tip is to have a yoga mat or something to lay the fish on instead of the red hot aluminium. Tight lines.
Trick is dont take photos with lures in the mouth. Gotta unhook and place gently so its not attached to the fish if they jump. Learned that GT fishing in Japan, also if your on a long expidition you need to fish barbless period.
@@IsaacDS123 I have had a few hooks go buried. Found that icing it for a minute or two before extracting the hook works pretty well. Still hurts a bunch later on though.

dude sickk video idk how u don't crush the barbs on those hooks id be so sketched out fishing for those beasts with treble hooks. Even for the stripers we fish for over here I tend to crush the barbs for lmao.
Great fishing and also thank you (unfortunately for you) for reinforcing a lesson that I am always preaching to my sons. Risk vs gain. Don’t do stupid things! I kept telling them that you, (And every other UA-camr) like we on my boat always do here should be removing the lure before showing off your catch. I tell my boys to eliminate as much of a danger as they can. When you had your first close call it was a good enough demonstration that satisfied me. That near disaster what a great demonstration showing how dangerous it is to handle a large fish with a mouth full of sharp pointy things. I feel the fish are vindictive looking for the chance to even the score. Sorry to say that when you got that hook buried in to you it really drove the point of the lesson home for my sons 😂 Man that looked like that hurt.
@@GTBUSTER I have at 61yrs only been stuck a few times with very small hooks. Last trip I was catching mackerel for bluefin bait and was hooked twice on Sabikis. Stung both times! I can only imagine that big old hook felt like in your leg. Keep on making the videos, really enjoy watching all of them 👍🏼
