  • Today we're visiting 5 local flower stands on our way to go plant shopping at the nursery. I'll share garden updates on the lily pots, hydrangea room, and driveway garden. When we return home, we'll make a fresh cucumber salad from the garden.

I cannot believe the prices of those bouquets. How in the world can you compete with those prices. You would pay closer to $20.00 up here in Northern Massachusetts. Beautiful. Alway enjoy your channel.

Way too cheap no matter where they are sold! There are more than 8 stems in a vase for $8 and that does not cover the price of the vase. They cannot be making a profit!

I went to the nursery that Danielle recommended in Quarryville, Hillside Acres Nursery . It was amazing-the best selection of PW I’ve ever seen. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff, and great prices. Plus, the drive there is beautiful.

Wow all our local bouquets go anywhere from $15 (typically veggie farmers who do big sunflower bouquets) - $35 for flower farmers who do arrangements in a vase. That’s in Oregon. Can’t imagine it being worth all the work for those prices, though we do have much different growing environments and cost of land.

I’m probably biased but I think your bouquets are the prettiest but it was fun to see what the other stands had to offer. When I saw the rose bushes st the nursery I could totally relate. Last weekend I dug up 10 rose bushes to give to my sister who is great at rehabbing plants. I finally gave up after 3ish years of sad looking plants. Btw, The cypress was gorgeous!! - Julie

How in the world can someone sell those lovely lisianthus that cheap🙄. It would be impossible to break even until and unless you sell large volumes. Also, since you get a ton of rain, how do they prevent disease in lisianthus? Do they grow in tunnels?
You were gracious with your kind praise. It's great that you grow lilies. Your arrangements are always aesthetically pleasing.

The cut flowers in the stands are so beautiful and sooo inexpensive. We pay $25 to $30 🇨🇦 dollars for a similar bouquet at the local farmers market. I have such a pest nightmare with boxwood at the moment. It makes me feel the way you do about roses. I am just praying I don’t lose my hedge around the garden at the back of the yard. 😂

Next, thanks so much for these amazing videos. I love to see your garden and what you are planning while I get ideas to improve my own space.
Lastly, it’s been a busy day here today dealing with lily beetles and rust ( I think) on my delphiniums. I ordered organic products to help me deal with it but I’m afraid it might not get here in time. My poor babies. On a more positive note I am learning a lot! 😂 💕🇨🇦

Hi Danielle, this was so much fun to go on a little tour of the garden center and visit the cut flower stands with you. I never saw the vitex bush before, or the blue ice cypress! they are both gorgeous!! and yes, I can see them in a horseshoe pattern with snow all around them with some tall evergreen pines in the back to give a little contrast to the icy blue color. The bouquets were all so pretty, I liked the different combinations. Your bells of Ireland on your table made a wonderful display all on its own! it's always fun to try a new recipe especially with produce you have grown from your garden. I like how you always have a great book to recommend. Grace is such a cutie, always checking to see where you are. btw the prices there are very reasonable, a bit lower than in Connecticut! 😍

No offense to the other flower farmers but your bouquets are far and away more superior and worth every penny from what could see. Regarding the prices of plants, I remember either this spring or last you were planting some annuals, and you either mentioned the prices you paid for them or maybe they were visible on the containers but I was stunned because here in central KY, I was paying way more than you were in PA.

Your prices on boxwoods and hydrangeas are great! Ours are much more expensive, so I am just adding slowly. I wondered why you didn't have roses. We have been handpicking the beetles, and this year there haven't been too many.

I go to an amish nursery in cockranville often, but all along the way so many great places to shop. Love the vase store too !! Your garden is so beautiful, the garden is never done and always changing, but that the joy of growing for sure :-) Stay cool this week more 90's and humid in PA.

Your flowers are just beautiful! That was fun seeing the other flower stands. I use Fertilome on all my plants that the Japanese Beetles love. Jenny from Creekside Nursery turned me onto it. I follow the directions on the bottle for each plant and apply it late spring. It lasts for a year. Totally worth it! My roses, Summerific Hibiscus, hydrangeas, shrubs and trees have very little damage. I just wish I could put it on my zinnias in my cut flower garden.
