Thanks Trev. Such a coincidence because I saw Ed Balls ( an ex-UK politician ) on TV yesterday navigating around the ship simulator lake, which obviously reminded me of this gig !
Ah - not so much of a coincidence after all ! It was a fun job and i really enjoyed filming it. At one stage i went out with the police pilot launch to get shots of tankers etc and all aspects of the filming was fascinating. I have just re-captured the master edit and will shortly be re-launching the film in HD quality.
Patrik Wied : It's very expensive and you need ideally to be sponsored by a Shipping Company. I went here 1979 as a Deck Cadet Esso Petroleum(now ExxonMobil) as then it was about £30000 a year per Cadet.
Thanks for this video, I worked the between 1990 and 2007 on the Simulators and Manned Models. Brought back some great memories.
