  • A selection of graphic novels that are popular or obscure that I think you should know about and read. Everything from Grant Morrison to Peter Kupor, these are graphic novels you've never heard of.
Welcome to Difficulty Concentrating, a show that will look into the various and varied subjects that occupy my mind such Arthouse Cinema, Surrealism, Graphic Novels, Poetry, Literature, Cultural Criticism, Songwriters, Jazz, Wrestling and 20th Century music. This is a catch all for thoughts and ideas that occur in my brain. You may like it, you may not but it will definitely be interesting because the deep dives seem to occur when you are doing something else and all you can hear is the invasion force of another part of your mind intruding. This is giving into the intrusion and seeing if the entrails and details of both pop culture and the obscure can tell us anything about each other or just understand why I am the way I am.

Thank You! I seldom comment on videos, but this video has compelled me to as a gesture of appreciation. Apart from a couple, I haven't heard about the rest and that's makes it special. I consider myself more of an amateur reader right now. I am a fan of comic books since childhood, but stopped reading almost two decades ago. I started reading comics during lockdown and instantly found my lost love. Initially, I started with the usual superhero comics but I feel the urge for more mature reading, and even though I like the superhero stuff, the reader in me wants more mature and sophisticated reading. I find this video extremely informative and I will try to get my hands on these, if I can get hold of it. Cheers for this enlightening video.

I read Daytripper coz it was the most talked about graphic novels and I understood the hype after reading it..Planning to get my hands on Animal Man soon .. Recently read another loved books "Vison" and tbh that story stays with you even after you finish that book ..it's just wowh..

Morrison's run on Animal Man has one of the most startling moments in comics for me with the fourth wall break. It was already starting to freak me out, and then seeing AM's shocked face fill the page, shouting, "I CAN SEE YOU!" made me snap the book shut, if only to have a brief break and then continue onward.
As far as a recommendation, I'll go again with scary and suggest Severed, by Scott Snyder and Attila Futaki.
