He took a .500 team and made the SEC championship the next year. In year two, he built the best offense in college football by two deviations and won a heisman. He has all the pieces to make a run this year. He is recruiting like a mad man. The culture is great. LSU fans got a good one.
Went to the SEC title game first year after taking over a program with 36 scholarship players when he arrived. Back to back 10 win seasons
That .500 team was the WORST in the west in '21. That's the big talking poin.
I hate to even refer to him simply taking over a .500 team as to not downplay or diminish just how exceptional a job he's done so far as taking over a .500 team makes people think that he got handed the keys to a well tuned Cadillac and just needed to take the wheel and steer it back on course as if all the pieces were still in place and a loaded roster that wasn't being developed or simply underperformed....when he took over he took on the task of taking over a .500 program as we had gone back to back .500 or worse with 5-5 in 2020 and 6-7 in 2021 and the roster was in complete disarray by seasons end in 21 and a weird and divided and locker room and staff that had nearly ruined LSU football culture....he literally had to do a complete rebuild from the ground up
He doesn’t have the interior linemen to make a run this year. I get it. Purple and gold glasses and all. Interior D-line is very thin and the secondary as a whole is inexperienced, unproven or both.
Will they makes strides on defense this year? I believe so, but I also believe that the offense takes a step back so it evens out.

The LSU "hate" goes beyond BK and extends to LSU itself. LSU fans are a proud bunch and rightfully so. LSU's been winning nattys across college sports and they send great and good looking athletes to the pros who become celebrities in their own right.
Brian Kelly took a team with 36 scholarship players on the roster when he arrived to the SEC championship. He corrected his mistakes by bringing in Corey Raymond and Bo Davis. That defense will be good soon

LSU is not a better program. Notre Dame has a lot more Championships overall then LSU. Every ND game is nationally televised for a reason. Brian Kelly is doing exactly at LSU what he did at Notre Dame, have double digit winning seasons, but can't win championships. He is a good coach, but not a great one! The Ignorance of people amazes me. He isn't destroying any narrative. He is literally doing the same thing at LSU that he did at ND! Good coach with a high floor, but has a limited ceiling! Nothing new!!
@tonyevans63 when was the last time that notre dame won a natty? Probably before you were born. LSU is a significantly better football program than notre dame is. They have better resources, better recruiting ground, they're in the SEC, etc. Notre dame is a has been program.

In fact there is NOT another team not named gumptards with MORE national titles THIS century than LSU fighting TIGERS. LSU has more than a couple of former P5 conferences COMBINED. Just as MUCH as the other 2 P5 conferences.
ND got their titles from before they even mattered. If LSU claimed all their titles like ND does (pre BCS) then LSU would have 12. No one cares about titles before 2000. Sorry you guys suck. @tonyevans63
@@FredPitre-o4b Yup, that is why Notre Dame beat LSU the last two times they played each other, in 2014 and 2017 and Notre Dame has a better overall record and made more college football playoffs then LSU in the last decade, but LSU fans never want to talk about that! Also, ND still has more overall titles then LSU! You can say in the past, but history and tradition counts. For example, when LSU doesn't win a title in the next 20 to 30 plus years, you guys will still go all the way back to your 2019 title, which still counts, just like they all do. However, like I said, as far as recently goes, ND beat LSU the last two times they played in this decade and Notre Dame has the better overall record in the last decade. ND also made more college football playoffs than LSU in the last decade. So ND is the more relevant, popular and better program then LSU and always will be, but you can't reason or tell Ignorant LSU fans that. SO, I am done here. I am not going to go back and forth with the same Ignorant arguments that LSU fans want to make, but Ignore all the facts that point to ND.! Have fun having another 9 to 10ish win season, but can't make the playoffs, or more importantly win the championship with Brian Kelly. Like I said, Kelly is a good coach with a good floor, but he will put a ceiling on your program, just like he did at ND. Kelly will get you double digit wins in a season and occasionally make the college football playoffs, but that is his ceiling. He will not win a championship and all the proof so far shows this. He is literally doing the same thing at LSU right now that he did at Notre Dame. The only difference is at ND, he actually went undefeated and went to championship games. I am done. Last year’s bad defense was attributed to Matt House inability to simplify the calls. Players lining up wrong, not knowing if it’s cover 1 or cover 2. House couldn’t come to terms that he was leading a group of kids and not a group of adults.
Matter House notwithstanding...the players on that side of the ball were simply not good players. And I'm not talking about players like Perkins or Wingo....I'm talking about the unit as a whole.

@bravecountry4012 First of all...hiring Matt House was a mistake. But before the season even started it was a known fact that they had no real talent in the secondary. It was considered a. big question mark. Turned out they were right. And since we were known as DBU..that's unacceptable. And that's on Brian. And he knows it. The play of the D-line was shakey..all year.They couldn't get off the field. And statistically speaking...that was the worst defense in the history of the program. To Brian's credit he is in the process of making sure that doesn't happen again. Jayden Daniel's didn't deserve that.

@bravecountry4012 They are not good players at there respective positions.These are not 5 star kids.And that's not an opinion. Denver Harris..who they got in the portal.( A&M)...was a 5 star..and they discovered that he couldn't play. The secondary was a disaster. Coaching can't fix everything. You have to have talent to coach...or you ate spinning your wheels. Brian Kelly knows this and they are paying him way too much money to allow this to continue.
That other stuff is BS.... he has had real tangible failures.. like not getting the team ready for opening/big games in the guise of "keeping players fresh and avoiding injuries"..... and the historic LSU defensive collapse last year.. best thing I heard from spring ball is that Kelly stayed away from the defense.

Had a chance to win his oscar last season but he rolled up in with one of the worst defenses I've seen at LSU in my lifetime. Remember the prior season when he came in with one of the worst special teams we've seen at LSU ever? I rememeber.
Those were all due to the coaches at those positions. The special teams coach was fired. The entire defensive staff was replaced. Do you remember that?

Back to the topic of conversation, 100 million dollar contracts get you lots of scrutiny... and finished 3rd in the SEC West in 2023 with a heisman winning QB, and two 1st round receivers ... he may have won the West in 2022, but still had four losses! He brought the scrutiny on himself!
Brian Kelly didn't file for divorce. So that alone makes your point kind of invalid that you didn't know that. Yes they had the #1 offense in the country and the #108 defense and still won 10 games in 2023. They cleaned house on the coaching staff and put together the best defensive staff in the country. If the ball doesn't go through Nabors hands in the end zone at the last second against Ole Miss, they would have had 10 regular season wins and played in the sugar bowl probably.

CBK is ONLY heading into year 3 at LSU. It took the goat till year 4 to get his 1st at LSU.
Tell me how many 4&5 stars Brian Kelly coached before he got to LSU and then tell me how many scholarship players he had when he got to LSU.

All I will say is most Notre Dame fans are actually looking out for you guys, but we are starting to laugh now because we have warned you guys and we see you guys doing exactly the same thing, that we did for over 10 years. We believed everything Kelly said and fell for all his false narratives. Brian Kelly is a politician at heart and a master manipulator. He comes from a family of politicians. Kelly is smart and very good at talking and creating excuses through false narratives to get people to believe him and it is literally working very well on most of the LSU fan base. Most of us fell victim to it too. Like I said, the issue isn't that Kelly is a good coach or not because Kelly is a good coach, but he isn't a great coach and will put a cap on your ceiling. He will always come up with some excuse though and is a master manipulator. When Kelly fails at something, he is great at coming up with excuses and narratives, that gets both the media and fan base to believe it. You will see, I just hope it doesn't take you guys 10 plus years, like it did a lot of the ND fan base. He will get you double digit wins often and occasionally even get you in the playoffs, but he will not win a national championship! You will see! Believe what you will, but time will only tell!!

@@tomas746 Making it to atlanta is a BIG deal in the SEC. Just ask ALL the SEC teams that never did. ole miss has a big ole sign in vaught hemingway about winning the west in '03. They NEVER been to atlanta. They LOST to LSU in '03 and tigers went to atlanta. Tigers won the SEC and National Championship that year.

Kelly knew he couldn't get the elite athletes at ND. In the last 12 recruiting cycles, LSU has landed 23 5-star athletes (Kelly has landed 5). ND has landed 0. How many 5-stars has Freeman landed? Same as Kelly at ND. ZERO.
LSU has had a better recruiting class overall than freeman has had over the last two years, and it's looking like he'll make it 3 years.
Yet CBK is doing even BETTER at LSU. Go figure.
After watching that clip several times I think he simply misspoke and it all of a sudden turned into the "fake accent" narrative. Kelly also had top 10 classes at ND just like Freeman has this year. The problem is at ND you won't get the top tier elite elite players in numbers to compete with the UGA, Ohio St, Bama, LSU, Texas etc of CFB.
