  • Learn how to graph quadratic functions in the standard form, vertex form, and intercept form in this video math tutorial by Mario's Math Tutoring. We go through 13 examples involving transformations such as reflections, vertical stretches and vertical shrinks as well as translations. We also discuss how to find the vertex, axis of symmetry, domain, rangeland the maximum or minimum of the graph. Here are the forms we discuss:
    y=x^2,
    y=ax^2,
    y=ax^2 + c,
    y=ax^2 + bx + c,
    y=a(x-h)^2 + k,
    y=a(x-p)(x-q)

    Well explained!! This is one of the topic for SAT math prep too! Student might see problem on this topic on SAT math section! Student should understand what those constants and coefficient do to the graph, like the vertical shift and horizontal shift and how value of a can make the graph wider or narrower!!
    Happy Teaching ✌️✌️

    Why are (x - h)^2 = 4p(y - k) and y = ax^2 + bx +c both called standard form of a parabola? It’s very confusing. When having a conversation and referring to standard form, the other person would not know which one I’m talking about if I said standard form.
