You have been successful to me. You have made the story (so far) turn Age of Sigmar into a world that has meaning. Games Workshop should point their customers to your videos. Thanks.
The climax of the battle for Ghal Maraz was awesome! If I remember correctly, in the book Vandus doesn’t just grab the hammer. He actually picks it up and bashed in both of Kairos’s skulls. Then to make it even more badass, he lifts the hammer above his head, looks into the corrupted realmgate at the center of the fortress, and yells at Tzeentch that he will never stop till every Chaos abomination in the Realms is dead. Then Sigmar sends down his comet and the whole fortress is leveled! From that point on, Vandus was my favorite Stormcast character! Gardus and the Hallowed Knights are still a close second though.
Gardus is a freaking boss! couldn’t believe what I was reading at the time especially after Vandus calling khorgus a coward had me yelling “Only the Faithful” lol
This is the best content so far in the channel! You really fulfilled your new year resolution for more consistent content, and with great quality. Congrats!!!
Thank you for your time and effort! Lovely content as usual! At first I was never drawn into AOS as I was a 40k player although stopped for a year. AOS have been getting a lot of my attentions in terms of lore and models! I’d love to hear more of your lore and interpretation of the story! Awesome work
I just imagine went to Aetherwyrd to watch crappy soap operas and eat ice cream while the Realm of Life went to Chaos so when the Stormcasts show up, she's in her unwashed pajamas, hasn't done her hair, eyes are all red from crying and then Nurgle busts through the door and she throws the spell back like an angry teen who was woken up too early.
Mind Blown!!!!! Great work brother Doug! This series is the best you have ever done! Loved the path to Glory series was well as the lore videos but these are at the top on the list brother! :D I'm going to build some armies in reflection of the ones in the stories. Cheers! Aloha Amen Shalom!
Maybe next time when Sigmar puts so much power into a weapon he might bother to put a returning spell on it before he chucks it like a moron. That part was just hilarious, "This is the beacon of my power!" Then instead of charging Archeon he CHUCKS this anthem of his power! It makes the point that everyone can have a DOH! moment.
It's interesting hearing how Vandus has already died twice. All the writeups I've seen for him thus far seem to imply that he's the ultimate hero (Age of Sigmar's "Cato Sicarius", as it were) and only ever died against Archaon. You'd think "he died at least twice during the Realmgate Wars" would be mentioned more...
Totally. Throughout the Black Library books we are seeing the subtle changes that reforging makes. But yea, they often gloss over how mnay times this dude dies to make him seem larger then life haha
2+Tough I'm always looking forward to the weekly lore videos man, Ive never been disappointed with a single video, hah! hope to see an ironjaw/greenskins week ;)
1:50 Throwing a lightsaber and having it return? Yeah that's totally the first thing i think of when a GOD lobs an ELECTRICAL HAMMER and expecting it to RETURN. I can't remember anyone else from mainstream pop culture or mythology ever doing that. That's exclusively a Jedi thing.
Love these lore vid's Doug, Passion Passion Passion that's what I get from your vid's m8ty i've said it before very infectious just like Papa Nurgle :)
i'm likely wrong, i'm not real into the story side of this game, but i did hear an audio book, where the stormcast guy was running through nurgles garden (being chased) i thought the demon chasing him was morbidex, like i said, i'm likely wrong, but now i'm wondering if that's the same story you're talking about, or if it's a different one. i've wanted to start a hallowed knights army ever since i heard that story.
oh like during the realmgate wars? Likely in the sky, watching to see if this new force (Stormcast) gets pummeled or can survive long enough to be a customer haha
@@2Tough yet still when i was listening to the video (and btw i love your take on lore videos) i was just waiting and waiting when stormcast went into those flying islands in the realm of metal, for some last stand of theirs and saving rohirim like charge ofthe skyvesels. And yet there probably was not enough profit to warn concern haha
I mean I am probably a bit biased as I am not a fan, but alot of what you said was like "They feel stuff too they aren't overpowered they are still affected and can be miserable etc" and then you go on too explain how they won basically every fight they fought ( or at least the big ones you mentioned ) feels alot like they just can't lose as an army ( 1v1 they can as you said with Korgus ) But it seems a bit contradictory that they "aren't" overpowered but they promptly beat sky scraper unclean one, Korgus Khul, and win most of the bigger battles lol. Im fairly new to AoS lore ( love the videos been devouring them ) but this seems too suggest they are, as an army either unbeatable or at least on a macro scale unbeatable, sure they might lose 20 fights but then won the other 180 type of thing. I hope I am wrong :) just what I have seen so far ( which too be fair isnt much )
"It sounds like you had a pretty special and intimate relationship with this hammer and that losing it was almost comparable to losing a loved one."
*Holds hammer close to bare chest
whispers "I'll never let you go again" ;)
Korg quotes work for Soul Wars too! "Piss off, ghost"
A god with a hammer that has lightning powers and flies back to him if he throws it.
You know, a Jedi!

Thank you very much for this series. I really love the lore of AoS, contrary to many other hobbyists. Thank you for taking the time to do this!
So glad you're enjoying it!!! :)
This would make a really cool animated film or series or something.
Amazing work 2+! I can’t wait til they flesh out gork and mork more, they seem to be such fun characters with lots of story potential 😹
Dude me too! I want Destruction to be a major player soon!

Lots of cool Nurgle characters in this book.
Yea bro, rot-up and ship out ;)
Such a great catch up for all the books i havent read! Especially love Gardus? Think i spelled it right. Sounds like a beast of a stormcast!

It was Bolothrax in the garden but there may be another time where they come against Morbidex :)

These stories kinda seem one-sided to Stormcast. Do they ever lose in the lore :P
Just wait.... ;)
Great videos by the way! Really puts me in the AoS mood whilst I'm painting!
dam, it sucks to be a stromcast
That Stormcast Gardus. Is only surviving Nurgles garden becuse Thamurkhan wasent there to whup his Golden ass to shreds
You realize that Gardus's Stormhost colours are SILVER, right?
7:10 oh... so they are not Sigmarines? they do know fear?
ok, nine lords of change is obnoxious
Hold up... are stormcast just good aligned necrons?
