My husband has asked me several times "Hey go to that Chicago Griller channel and see how he recommends to clean these grills" (we bought one a couple months ago, after I'd watched a bunch of your videos). So this is perfect! Watching now. THANK YOU.
Ha that's amazing! Truth be told, this is probably more appropriate if you only need a light cleaning on your grill grates (like between dishes or something) or if you forgot to bring a brush when out camping or something. If your Q is particularly nasty, you're probably going to need to do a much more thorough cleaning than what an onion can do :-) Thanks for watching!
I am a subscriber, saw this video come up this morning, and have now tried this trick tonight, and by god, it worked! So thank you, very useful indeed! Cheers from Australia
Hello fellow Chicagoan! I stumbled on your channel while brushing up on my grilling. Thank you for these videos! Gotta ask, where did you get those Cubby decals for your grill?
Always love seeing fellow Chicagoans! So that’s not a decal for the grill. A few years back there was a collaboration between Weber and the MLB and they sold limited editions Weber Qs with the team logos on them!
You could do it either way. Yes, your grill will be hot immediately after grilling at which case you can scrape all the gunk off your grill. On the other hand, since you have to preheat your grill before cooking, you're not really burning any additional fuel scraping right before cooking.
My neighbor has been doing for years , I guess I should pay attention thanks jerry

Thank you... Btw I rewatched the video about cleaning the gas tube... Paperclip was a lifesaver and my grill is back to new... You rock.
I'm glad that helped!
Thanks for the onion tip. I will give it a try this evening.
This is great! I like to keep my grill pretty clean all of the time, this will work very well.
It's a nice solution if you just need a quick surface clean or if for whatever reason you don't have a brush handy. Thanks as always for watching!
you learn something new every day!
sometimes it's the easy things in life... Thank you Jerry for this brilliant tip which saves us money and the environment !!!
Of course! Thanks for watching!

Probably more fuel friendly to do this when you’ve finished grilling rather than before you start, eh? Lol
